Check CM7 thread. I think I've seen complain about this. Didn't happen to me though.
I've got exactly the same problem. And can't find how to solve it. Moreover it turns off instead of locking when time for locking comes.
If anybody knows what causes it and how to solve this problem - please help.
It also happens whit MIUI ROM
Yes the same with me.
Here is 2.2 froyo stock rom http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1315823
Oi! I had the same prob, the system worked like it should but as soon as I pushed the power button to go to sleep the device reeboted. You need to make sure that you clean the Dalvik cache, wipe data, wipe partition, before you install your Cyanogen ROM. I did that and it helped.

Flashed from DamageR_DCG v4.6 Eris Port to CYANOGEN V8 THEMED.
I wish I would have read this post before proceeding further with f*ing up my phone.
I think the following fix would have worked if I hadnt started flashing other roms to try to fix the issue myself.
["-Second: if unresponsive and showing 3G signal bypass setup by touching all four corners of the screen starting with the top left and going clockwise. At the bottom touch the screen just above the language and emergency call buttons."]
After flashing CYANOGEN V8 THEMED, I waited for it to start up and load. Unexpectedly, there was an android icon presented in the middle of the screen, with a hand directing me to touch it. I touched the android icon, it turned white, but that was the end of it. As soon as I let go of the screen, the icon would turn into its normal green and black color scheme. So i touched everywhere, haha, and rotated the screen and continued to press every available space on my phone's screen. I gave up and thought the rom, itself, was "broken". So I tried flashing my previous rom, and the trouble began. I am now experiencing an error message with each rom I try to use. It says "Sorry! The process android.process.acore has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again. Force close button". The error message listed above pops up whenever the phone starts, neither HTC Sense nor Nexus Home loads. I could use some help.
I will try looking for a newer rom version to flash, but I dont think it will work. ;(
**Update - Problem Solved - I did a factory reset/wipe, Dalvik-cache wipe, and proceeded with flashing a new rom.
**Thanks, gnarlyc, it was the Dalvik-cache wipe that fixed the problem.
Go back into recovery and wipe data and dalvik-cache and flash another ROM.

Okay, I wiped, and am now flashing CELB Froyo2.2.
I will update this post when it is finished.
Cyanogen tazz needs the Google apps flashed right after you flash the rom.
Then you have to wait a minute or so for the 3g icon to appear. Then you can tap the android and proceed with setup.
Tazz v1.0 is super stable and fast. I would try this rom again but make surer you flashed the right Google apps package.

Anytime. Been there myself. Not too long ago either.
Updated to official 2.3.5 rooted, added back the pink screen, not done much else except installed a few apps.
Getting random reboots while phone is sleeping. Never happens while actively using phone. My phone will be on my desk and next thing I know it restarts.
Anybody else have this problem or found a solution?
I need to find out if it is the rom or something else causing the problem so I can start to troubleshoot it.

Turn OFF wifi when you're not using the phone. problem solved
If not work try this :
Goto CPU menu -> smartass v2 and make low and high cpu speed settings to 1 ghz.
This will also increase Battery life and must fix random rebooting.
Other way is clear caches and install rom again.
Loureiro:
I'll try turning off the wifi. It sounds like a highly likely solution since: 1) I've only seen my phone at home 2) I always turn wifi on at home.
Is there a specific reason why wifi is causing reboots? Maybe something I can find a fix for?
technogod:
Don't have custom kernal installed, so I can't alter the CPU parameters. Wanted to make sure the phone was stable at stock before changing the kernal.
Speaking of which, what's the most stable kernal for overclocking the 2.3 stock rom?
I'll try clearing the caches as well.
Thanks.
The wifi bug is known fault with the .35 kernel found in the official upgrade. hopefully it will be fixed next week fingers and toes crossed. I am not sure if any of the kernel dev's have found a fix yet.
Without cpu parameters, only way i am found that : clear three caches with clockwork and reinstall your rom. It's working on stock roms or custom roms. I think, this is not rom problem. There is different something. Cache clearing solves problem. Resetting problem started on my phone when i start to try other roms.
I am using miui 2.2.3 now and i will setup 2.2.10 version today. While using stock rom, i have some resetting problem. But now, my phone working without self-reset.
Hey guys,
First i want to say i did use the search tool to try and find my answer, but had no luck. Two days ago i updated to Miui 2.3.30 and since then i been having wifi problems and random restarts. If i turn wifi on it doesn't find anything any more and the phone crashes. After that it keeps restarting until i remove the battery.I tried previous miui builds but the same problem happened after using the phone for about 10 minutes. I also tried other roms that were not miui, on those i dont get the resarting problem, but wifi will keep turning off and on. Is there any fix for this? I love miui roms

Have you tried a full wipe? 9 out of 10 times this will fix problems.
Sent from my HTC Glacier using xda premium
I did a full wipe every time. By full wipe i mean : wipe data/factory reset, wipe cache, wipe dalvik cache.... I read in some threads that maybe is the kernel, but i have no idea about. Any help appreciated .
Kernal certainly could be the problem, dig through the development forum for that Rom and see what others are using as their Kernal. Try that and if it doesn't work provide us with more details
Alright, i looked around it and one of the users said he used DARKSIDE v12 kernel. I flashed it, but still have the problem. I also notice that if i turn airplane mode on none of the problems happen. It works perfectly on airplane mode. Also if i flash the rom and never try to turn wifi on it won't crash. If i try to turn wifi on the phone will keep crashing until i turn airplane mode on or reflash the rom. I am using a mytouch 4g with miui 2.3.30.
airplane mode is disabling everything you would have broken, so no problems would appear.
I'm running Darkside-v12-cm7+ from thederekjay. 2.6.34.14 and I'm not having any problems.
I was running some other kernel the other day and a bunch of things weren't working

Try to format system and data and then wipe delvic and them factory reset before flashing the rom. That is a true full wipe. You can't have issues if the rom doesn't format those partitions properly upon rom flash.
I got it to work !! Thank you guys for the help, i appreciate it. What i did was i clicked all the wipe options on recovery mode except battery and flashed an old miui i had. After it started i just left it there for like 3 minutes( didn't click anything) and restart it. This time i tried wifi and it worked. Turn it off and on a couple of times and it worked fine.

Please could you provide more detail to what you've did because i am currently going through the same problem and haven't found any help can you tell me what version of miui you've installed to get this fixed i've done full wipes countless of times but every time i load up and press the turn on wifi icon the phone reboots randomly :crying:
hi there i´ve flashed this nand rom on ly hd2 and it works very fine and smooth but there are two problems.
its reboots a lot of times by itself on day.... i realy dont know how to fix this problem and sometimes it doesnt boot it stucks in the htc logo so i have to take the battery off and back in to start the fone make a fix permission and dalvic cache to start it again. after the phone started i have to fix the clock-time manual it doesnt change automaticly i dont know why
do anyone have a fix for both problems? please
Try doing a full wipe and then re flash the ROM and see if that fixes it. If it does not thn try flashing another ROM. If that still does not help try flashing the stock Windows Mobile ROM to see if it still does it. If it still does it on the stock ROM then you have a hardware issue.
Hello all,
My apologies if this is a common issue. I have searched but the only old thread about it is the following:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2190960
and no real answer was suggested there, which is why I am asking it again.
So the issue is the same as in that previous thread: quite often, when I longpress the power button, the menu (to shut down, put it on vibrate mode, ...) does not pop up. The only way to get it back is to hold the power button until the phone shuts down, and then reboot the phone, after which it works again (for god knows how long).
I was rooted (with stock rom) before 4.3, but lost my root when updating to 4.3, so I was on stock ROM without root when the problem first appeared. Now yesterday I rooted again and flashed paranoid android ROM (first factory reset, clearing cache and dalvik cache), but the problem remains.
In that old thread one member solved the problem by flashing the stock kernel, however I have never flashed another kernel so I doubt the kernel is the problem?
If anybody knows the issue and a way to solve it, please let me know, it would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Maarten
You did flash a kernel when you flashed the rom
Wayne Tech Nexus
Hey there
No, as in the first post, I have never flashed another kernel on the nexus. Neither did I flash a new radio.
I had not flashed anything yet when the problem started, I only unlocked the bootloader and rooted my phone when I first got it (but it worked a long time without any problems)
