Hey everyone! my Xperia X1 has been serving me quite good since I joined XDA.
But that's not enough! I want another phone to test other developments!
So I need a little help here.. Malaysia has an event on giving out a HD7 for any Malaysian citizen who can gain the most support out from in Facebook(tm) so I thought on giving it a try. If by chances I win this, I can be a tester (I'm not a programmer, but I want to be one though..) for any developments coming out from XDA.. It's better to have another 1 extra tester right?
Please view my facebook.com(slash)ethanliew92 to help! thanks a lot

HI Everyone !!
I want to cook an android rom of my own for htc hd2....(sorry if i am selfish). Can anyone guide me through this... I have see a lot threads but most of the suggestions like
cookmyrom.se and cookandroid.com arn't working... so i would be a great help people could pitch in their skills and knowledge....
i do know that these are all your trade secrets but as Android is free and open source i would like if people could think open and freely
Thanking you,
EVA

I was wondering if anyone else who is computer illiterate like me is very interested in learning how to create kernels, roms, themes... and anything else under the sun that deals with android software.
Anyone else interested in becoming a dev like those helping us out with froyo and whatnot?
I'm on Google now... I guess I'm looking for help on where to start. Like from square one... any nice guides you brainiacs could show us noobs?
I wouldn't mind teaching myself from the ground up just by reading internet guides - I enjoy both reading and learning.... I could see myself developing stuff for our community as a fun hobby.
If you would like to help me, think of me as an old man who's never owned a cell phone or a computer till now. That's how far back I'd need to go to learn, I have no experience in computer programming at all.
Since I got my fascinate and stumbled across xda, I've just been, well... fascinated with android and the mechanics behind it all. And the great devs that make this possible for our nice little community here!
So... you other noobs and pros out there wanna help each other out by sharing guides and experiences?

Hello,
I am wanting to start my developing carrier along with my new Nexus 6P. I have started programming in college and feel partially confident enough to start developing on my own for fun. I am not sure where to start. Should I attempt with ROMs? Or should I stick with simple apps for now. Or if there are any devs who want a helping hand and are okay with coaching me Id be glad to join and willing to try my best.
Would love any advice. Thanks everyone!
Hey guys I really got interested in android thanks to all custom ROMS and apps, but I have no knowledge in programming...at all.
Are you guys that develop those roms all programers that study programing on college or is it your job? Is it hard to learn and takes to much time?
