Dears,
I am having trouble installing apps through market and it is really annoying. I have reset the phone already many times.
Actually problem is that when i am installing applications through market, during download/install app will stuck. For my case, any app can stuck and it can stuck in either download or install. I think process tries to restart itself, all these restart are stacked up. I had upto 78 downloads of same apps at one time.
I have reset the phone many times, please has anyone came across this, Any permanent solution is highly appreciated.
There is some data saver setting that will enqueue all downloads. Disable it and it will work fine again.
Regards
Thanks, actually I was surprised that I don't have "Data Manager" option in my phone settings to enable/disable 'data saver'.
Anyways to clean the stuck installs and clear the process, by the way I always use WiFi for downloads ....

In the new market app I selected the option to update all apps that were pending, this option has worked for me in the past, however this last time it updated several apps but not all apps. Six of the apps are stuck on "installing" and it has been stuck in this state for over 24 hours.
To try and address this I have done the following...
- Forced closed Market app
- Rebooted the phone
- Shutdown phone and removed battery
- Killed market process and several other processes
- Uninstalled affected apps via other processes
Unfortunately these apps remain stuck "installing" mode, because they are stuck I can't reinstall them.
Other apps that are not one of these 6 can still be installed/updated/uninstalled.
Has anyone had this happen before and anyone have suggestions on how to correctv this so I can reinstall my apps.

Try following the instructions on this page http://www.honeytechblog.com/fix-samsung-galaxy-market-download-system-restore-issue/
That should help with the issue
Make sure you are signed in to G talk.

Thank You Kaotikevo,
The steps in that link did not correct my problem but they did point me into a direction that did fix it.
After following the steps twice to no avail I had noted that the Market App in the settings area you pointed me to had the option to rollback the last update. I rolled it back and that corrected the problem. I was able to reinstall the app and my last glance at the phone showed it reinstalling the new Market.

So i searched and searched and searched and i found nothing that has help my issue so far. Whenever i go to download anything from the market it starts the download than says download unsuccessful. ive tried turning talk on then trying again, wipe data for market and market updater, froze both as well in tb then unfroze, and turned airplane mode on the off. no success. i am not running voodoo. any way to fix this??????
Do you have titanium backup installed? If not install it, if so do the following. Open it up, and wipe the data for the market. That always worked for me.
So despite innumerable threads on this strange issue, I'm not seeing a definitive answer on how to fix the problem.
Clearing cache on "download manager" and "market" DOES NOT WORK!! I still get the white screen of death, followed by the friendly message..
I also CANNOT see anywhere in the manage application settings where I "clear the download history" or wh8ever....and really - I'm feeling like I might have to invest in a computer science major just to maintain a reliable, updateable phone!
PLEASE HELP, anybody...is there any fix to this other than factory resetting everything & reinstalling everything??

Has anyone found a solution to this Market problem?
I also get this error message on my stock G2 every single time I download an update to an app I already have installed. once I clear the error message, the download and install always completes, but its annoying as all heck. can anyone confirm if master reset permanently resolves the issue? if it does id be willing to do it...
Primarily force closes happen when application permissions(or system data) either overlap or conflict... Hard reset will only resolve the issue if you stop installing whatever it is you have messed permissions up with... Boot into recovery and fix permissions and see if that helps... If not, hard reset and install apps individually to see if you can trace it..

I apologize, but that doesnt help me at all. this issue doesn't only happen with certain apps, it is literally 100% of apps that I experience this issue with. if I boot in to recovery mode, what permissions am I looking for?
Boot into recovery and fix permissions? I wish i were that competent...but i am no programmer
Cant i just reinstall the Market app somehow?

So, I've recently bought a new vibrant and at first I was able to download some apps after booting, after a few minutes though I can't seem to download anything anymore, the downloads start and the download notification appears on top then dissapears after a second. Hope someone can help. I've tried everything, I've cleared all the cache/data(from checked in service, gtalk, market, etc...), signed out and logged into gtalk, uninstalled market update. I also tried doing a factory reset and even reflashed the rom back to JFD from JI6 but the problem still occurs, after I either hard reset or flash it to stock it works for a few minutes, from 5-30 minutes before the problem occurs again wherein it'd either stay at starting download or the download icon will appear at the notification bar, then dissapear after 1 second. It's been driving me crazy for over a week!
Hope someone has a solution.
Thanks!
This happens to me at times, but after clearing the market apk cache I'm able to download apps properly. Try to clear it a few times before deciding to reinstall the apk. Also, speaking from experience, I dont think that flashing different roms would help too much. Every time i flashed a rom the same problem came back and i would have to do the whole "clear cache" thing over again.
hi, thanks for the help. I've already tried clearing the market cache and other apps but it still doesn't work. I've read of a new market app version 2.2.11, I tried downloading it to the phone and installing it but the phone says something like "error parsing package".
Hello
Android version: 2.3.3
Running stock ROM with XWKF3 with default Samsung launcher. (let me know if further info is required)
From few days GS2 has been starting to force close the system applications out of blue. Not had this issue since 3 months. Basically I would get a force close of Google services initially (pic attached) which would throw that pop up in a contionus loop. When I later check out others apps the following applications also gave me the force close error:
1. Internet (doesn't even let me see the force close error. The box appears for less than a milliseconds and closes off)
2. Email
3. Gmail
4. Messaging
5. Social Hub
6. Gtalk
7. Tasks
8. YouTube
9. Wireless will not connect and it tries to scan and later switches off automatically.
10. TW launcher (not all the time, the home screen will restart itself on a contionus loop - effect similar to when we clear through RAM from task manager.
As u can see the above apps are mostly the system apps. Specifically android apps rather than touchwiz.
Here is what I have tried:
1. Try exiting all apps and clearing the RAM through task manager. But still the above mentioned applications force close.
2. so the only way was for me to switch off and the on the device. However this does not look like a permanent solution since the problem appears again like two or three times a day.
I would also like to point out that may be the issue issue is only when the wireless and is turned on. I can't be sure here completely.
Also after I restart the device oddly everytime the device temp shows as 39° C and then cools down.
I have not rooted my device at all and also have not installed any application which does a system wide changes (oh except Samsung app update and Samsung mobile security from the Samsung app store)
Just not able to know wot is causing the problem
So could anyone please help me out to as to solve this issue? Is some kind of virus/malware being attacked? Is the device suffering from faulty hardware?
Gald to provide any further info if required.
Thanx.
Have you tried fixing permissions a lot of time that solves FC's, if not id recommend doing a full wipe.

Thanx for the reply. What does fixing permission actually mean? also would I have a risk of killing my device when doing a full wipe? would I void my warranty? is it same as doing an hard reset on Nokia phones?
sorry for so many questions, this my first android device and got to get used to troubleshooting stuff :-/
Thanx!

Fixing permissions fixes problems often associated with Force Close errors.
boot into recovery > advanced > fix permissions > reboot system now.
if fixing permissions doesn't work you should do a full wipe and you should be ok then.
I would definitely root your device if i were you most people do you can so much more, you can always "unroot" if you do need to send it for repairs and are worried about warranty.

Hello
I tried to use the fix permission options. I went to recovery mode by switching off the device and holding down the volume up key + home key + power button and releases them once the Samsung logo appeared. I got the following screen. Link:
(there was an error attaching the pic
However I cannot see the "advanced" option though :-/ help?
And now after reading your post I'm actually thinking of rooting my device. Once I have time for it. Thanx for the advice on that.
Well it looks like issue is solved. I dint get option of "fix permissions" but by accident choose the fourth option "wipe cache partition" out of curiosity. And from that day on dint have any force close issues.
Just wanted to add that i too experienced this. Fixed it with a factory reset as i didn't think of wiping cache. I was not rooted, running KI1 2.3.4.
Force Close fix??
I have the same problem, I've tried everything again the same
