When my phone rings from a call, and i connect the hands-free plug so i can listen better, the goddamn phone hangs and denies the call!!! And i gotta wait for the person to call me again... wtf!! Im expecting the phone not hanging the call and let me use my connected accesories as i please...
Even my ooold nokia 5800 could easily do that, and my xperia arc can't? wth..
Also, i'd like more desktops, with the stock rom [so please dont start suggesting mods and the like], 5 desktops are not enough.

But surely that's the point of having an Android phone. The manufacturer supplies a base spec then the user can add to it with apps and modifications.
What about XDA premium you posted from, surely that's bought and installed?
Music control in the lock screen works really well with Poweramp.

Accordingly to a a thread opened on Xperia Neo (V)/ Pro SE forum, a QuickDial (T9 entry for contacts parsing, "Sense contacts-Like") feature will be implemented in ICS upgrade. So ARC will benefit too.
Beside that, an overall improved calendar widget and app could be a plus. Moxier is not a big deal, easily removable, but will be even more useless under ICS.

You should start buying the apps you use to support development.
And Android is all about apps.
You can customise your phone to the fullest by finding the right apps for you.
SE and all other companies provide the minimal amount of apps to keep the phone running, the rest is up to you.
You can't expect from a firmware to include apps tailored to your needs because simply your needs are not the general rule.

Hey guys just a quick question about ADW...im having some problems when trying to add a picture frame widget. When I choose the photo I want and then I have the option to resize it,,instead of 2X2 I want to make it 4X2 however when I do that it still comes out to 2X2 but it takes the space of a 4X2. Now, I had no problems doing this with my Nexus One..so is it possible that its a 1.6 problem? or am I missing a setting somewhere?
Thanks
When you change the space settings the widget stays the same size, just has a kind of invisible border.

Right, thats exactly what happens....but before on my Nexus the picture itself would be bigger no invisible border. Why wont it work now? is it 1.6? Thats what Im trying to figure out
I don't think it's anything to do with ADW... It's the SE implementation of the picture frame widget I believe...
Is there maybe a better picture frame program in the market?

Some (although few) widgets actually stretch or shrink depending on what size you make them, however, try the 'Auto Stretch' option in ADW which may stretch widgets which normally wouldn't
Ok I know not everyone will have come from the X10 but even if you haven't is there something missing on the ARC that we could do with?
I for one am missing my web thumbnail's widget.

Actually I only realised it first have face recognition yesterday and although I never used it all that much I still think it would have been a nice to have.

The only thing I miss about the X10 is the LED being on the front of the phone instead of on the side.
There's no comparison, none at all.
For grabbing your attention no, so in regards to notifications that definitely a down point.
Stlye wise its nicer but I prefer the function of it oget how pretty it look's.

- Disable all animations

I used to use touchwiz, but can't stand the slow transition, even after making the adjustment under development in settings.
Then i install Nova launcher, turn transition to the fastest. Wow, now my phone has over 300 mb free ram after boot up and is fast. And I mean real fast. For those who need speed. Go with Nova, and you retain most of the touchwiz features, like smart stay.

I recently upgraded from Xperia S to Xperia Z. Frankly I like everything about Xperia Z except the white theme of Phone & Messaging applications. I miss the black theme found in Xperia S. In fact this is the only thing I HATE about Xperia Z. Don't understand why Sony changed it? At least they should give an option to change the theme if the user want.
Apart from it I found Xperia Z to be better on every aspect except Wi-Fi signal which is better in Xperia S. Xperia Z drops Wifi signals frequently at places where Xperia S has no problem.
Please post your views whether you like Black or White theme for Phone and Messaging applications.
What firmware do you have? I'm experiencing Wi-fi signal drops when I'm far from the router, had no problem with an Galaxy S2
The idea is:
Productive apps -> White
Fun apps -> Black

I own an S and to be honest I prefer the look of the white apps on the Z, at least from what I've seen in screenshots. Not sure how they look in person though - white apps on a screen that isn't full brightness don't look as good in my opinion.

Hi everyone!
A couple of months ago my mother bought a Nexus 5 because she really disliked that she wasn't able to change anything to her then current mobile phone other than the background: she had an iPhone. Now she's been getting used to the whole Android ecosystem and the look and feels, however, certain simple tasks are still difficult for her. What I then noticed was that none of the official Google apps (camera, gmail and settings f.e.) had the same management. The buttons aren't in the same places and therefore you have to learn what to do per app. There is just no consistency.
That's the reason why I made these mock-up/concepts. Simple and easy to understand. Easy to get from one place to the other. Also, apps which are really close to one-another, like the contacts app with the phone and messages app, are connected via the tab-pullout.

Feedback is welcome. Please keep in mind that this was just something I decided to do in my spare time and I thought would be fun to show you guys. Also, I am sorry certain texts are in Dutch, I made screenshots from my phone and didn't bother to change them .
EDIT 31-5-2014:
I've been thinking about how I could improve my last concept/mock-up and now I've come up with this idea.
It is a combination between the new looks of the Google Keep-app, Facebook-app and the camera app.
Now all navigation is in the bar on top, including the "sub-navigation". All the actions are in the lower bar, which looks just like the bar in the camera-app. I don't know what would be best: to make the actions disappear like the three-dot menu in the camera-app or like the actions in the facebook-app: disappear when scrolling.
Also, with apps like the music-app or youtube-app which have a thumbnail, they can take up some space on the action bar.
If there is not enough room for the actions, the action bar would be scrolable.
If a message or anything is selected, an action bar will pop-up below that message.
The action bar is in the bottom because it is easier to touch with your thumb on big phones (and maybe with some smaller phones as well).
I've put all the navigation stuff together and i've put all the actions together so it is more clear for newcomers and also so you immediately know where to go to instead of searching for what you want.
