Gingerbread 2.3.6 null keyboard sloved - Galaxy Tab General

Hi All cant post in the Dev thread but for anybody flasking the 2.3.6 stock and getting null keyboard you probable found that Odin said it had succeded but the tab had not rebooted try useing odin v1.85 easily found with a google and the tab will reboot and keyboard will be fine . I did tick repartition as well . I had same problem with stock 2.3.5 . many thanks to Devs for some great releases.

Too late. I solved by... using a different keyboard.

If you are unable to use another keyboard, perhaps can try the following, my alternative,
Goto to main screen, Settings/Language and keyboard/Select input method/ activate Swype
I managed to have the null entry temporary solved and follow by installing another keyboard from Play Store.
ps: Tried all available hints re null key, but none workable. Hope the above may assist those getting similar issue.

I saw a tip that said to flash it again with repartition. Worked for me.

How to fix your Chinese Samsung Galaxy I9220, (add google market and stuff)

Hi,
I live in Shanghai, China. Everyone who lives here knows that any phone you purchase here , even good brands (such as Samsung etc..) will not any have google applications installed. It's almost impossible to get these phones fixed without changing their roms, which is inconveneint and dangerous. From my personal experience once you change the rom of your chinese phone to a foreign one, you will never get the optimum performance. I first purchased a Samsung Galaxy S5660 in China. It worked perfectly expect for the fact that I couldn't use any google app. After being unable to add these applications, I finally flashed some rom from Europe. Then the market etc , all google apps worked fine but the performance was bad. Battery life was really poor. Also I changed several roms after that , none of which gave me the same performance which I had with the original chinese rom.
Now I have got a new Galaxy Note (not N7000), in China it's called I9220. I ran in to the exact same problem. No market, no google , absolutely nothing!! After a lot of research I was able to fix it this morning. If you have got the same problem then follow the steps. Here is how you do it!..
(But I must warn you that I am not responsible for any damage to your phone. Please do it at your own risk).
First use this video guide below :

//Since this is my first post, I am not allowed to post any links. Please go to the website rootgalaxynote.com and search for the article "how to root ics on galaxy note gt n7000 no computer required".
All credit for this vdeo goes to the guys at rootgalaxynote.
In the above guide follow both recommendations. I mean root your device and then also change your kernel to FrancoICS. Both worked on my I9220 without any problems. My phone started and it was already rooted. Also I got the Clockworkrecovery as the default recovery.
Once you have finished this task, the final task is adding all the google applications. This is quite easy and I did it myself.
1. Go to the website goo.im/gapps and download the latest ICS gapps zip file, currently it is gapps-ics-20120429-signed.zip.
2. Save it to your external SD card.
3. Reboot into Clockwork recovery mode (you should know how to do this if you have already succesfully rooted your device using the above method)
4. Choose "install zip file from external sd"
5. Find the Gapps file and install it.
6. Done, and restart your phone.
You now have your Original Stock Chinese rom, but it's rooted and you have installed all google applications. Just make a google account and you can use the android market.
Even with the google market working , you cannot access many application since you are in China. If you want to be able to download all applications available in the USA for example, then you must also install marketEnabler.
Here's the link :

//Just google search market enabler, you will find it very easily.
1. After you install it, run it and choose T-Mobile (USA) and then click Fake this provider now.
Now if you use Google Market, you should be able to install or download almost any app (such as youtube, facebook, skype etc...)
I hope this is helpful to all the foreigners in China who are tortured by Chinese android phones that only come with Chinese bloatware and doesn't allow you to install any English app or access google stuff..
Good Luck!
Note : When I got my new phone today, it already had ICS so this whoe process worked for me. If your chinese I9220 isn't ICS, it's gingerbread, then don't attempt it, because it might not work.
Thanks a lot. It works on my Samsung S7562 which bought from China.

first switch off your phone then press the three button combination i.e. power +home +volume up and then when you see it getting started(when your phone model no. is shown up) then release the power button and continue pressing the other two buttons i.e. home +volume up

lol you are funny, Franko kernel was developed at xda, he quit developing, not sure why could have been ungrateful community, Its always had lots of bugs, but if it works for you it works. I wouldnt be surprised the rest originated from xda as well.
You better be careful with cwm. zip its been known to superbrick devices. Safest way to root would be the drPhills superuser and busybox zip, flashable as a upgrade zipbfrom stock recovery.

Samsung GT-S7568 China Model
Hi There.
I am new to this site but feel the solution posted would have fixed my problem had I found it before I tried messing around with ROM’s.
I have just returned from Shanghai where I purchased a Samsung Galaxy Trend GT-S7568. This model appears to only be available in china from my research. It is an original Samsung product not one of the many fakes out there.
In my attempts to get it to work with an English ROM, being the idiot that I am. I never created a backup of the system. I appear to have soft bricked the phone and I am unable to find a tool that can fix it. I am also unable to find an original stock ROM to attempt to get it back to the original Chinese firmware.
I have tried OneClick and I have also tried a firmware for the GT-S7562 (possibly what caused my current issue). I have found the Samsung official open source download page and have downloaded the correct files from there but have no idea how to prepare them to be transferred to the device as the “read me” file is not much help that came with the download.
Currently the Phone will boot into Download Mode but no matter what ROM I try The Oden Tool keeps failing at the complete Write operation.
I am hoping that I have posted this in the correct forum. If I not I am sorry but it is the closest I could find to my situation.
Any help or direction anyone may have would be greatly appreciated.
Thank You!
HELP !!
i followed the video from the guide How to Root ICS/Jelly Bean on Galaxy Note GT-N7000! [No Computer Required!] but when i get to the part after i enter the recovery mode and try to install the files i get an error that says :

ar....
i have the i9220.
All i have to do is odin the stock rom from Hong Kong. (available @ SamMobile)
It is fast and stable, no problem whatsoever, and it has good battery life too. (that is only if you do not activate everything and keep you account in sync as little as possible, i only have google and facebook under sync.)

Hy, i'd like to root my S7568 as you did. Did you use the same files for Galaxy note as it is showed in the video?
Thanks!
Can't root my chinese mobile! Please give me some hope!
Hy everybody!
As I have bought a chinese samsung mobile, I can't use google play. So I'm trying to root it. I went through many software as Root_with_Restore_by_Bin4ry_v30 , SRSRoot for Android , SuperOneClickv2.3.3-ShortFuse and more. I also tried to do it as it is said in thoses previous post but there is nothing to do...
I think it's because my mobile:
Samsung GT-S7568
Ice cream sandwich 4.0.4
Is only available in China and all thoses software may not support my device.
So here comes my question. Do I have still any chance to take?
Thanks a lot!
Denffy
PS: the mobile is not a fake!

Pen input in S Note?
Use Write Now app, then cut, close Write Now and paste into S Note
i have the same issue. Direct imput is much faster. Please help
Solution
Hi, I have had this issue for weeks. I read through many threads looking for a solution. I was reluctant to do a factory reset after all the customization that I had done however to get rid of this annoying (disease) I did the following:
1. I downloaded smartswitch pc . connected my Note 5 and took a full backup. (data included)
2. from sammobile I downloaded the exact (EXACT) firmware that is on my device. (no available update yet)
3. restarted to download mode and flashed the firmware in odin.
4. to my surprise i did not have to do a restore as my data was not lost(apps passwords media etc.. intact). however root and all mods done to the system was reverted back to normal or removed.
5. i re flashed cf autoroot restarted and flashed twrp.
now i have root recovery and my Snote and direct pen input are back to working normally.
NOTE: it worked for me. these exact steps as all ops do please do a full backup first in case things go wrong. I will not put any links as they may vary with your device. I have a Galaxy note 5 SM-N920G and those steps worked for me. the only app i cant use is Samsung Pay. However android pay works fine. hope i helped someone....

touchscreen does not work after unsuccessful touchscreen update (galaxy s6102)

Hi to all
I have a Samsung galaxy s6102 and some weeks ego I entered a code (*#*#2663#*#*) which supposed to update touch firmware but it failed and touch screen never worked again.
I couldn't repair my phone even by flashing ROM an kernal. I tried method mentioned in this topic but I discovered that screencast does not work on my phone, hence I used ADB shell commands to enter the code (*#*#2663#*#*).
unfortunately just after entering the code this error message pops up: "The application com.sec.android.app.lcdtest (process com.sec.android.app.lcdtest) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again"
I retried with different ROMs and got the same error.
I am wondering how should I erase touch firmware and flash new one and why flashing ROM and kernel do not replace this firmware?
It would be very appreciated if anyone suggest another solution for my case.
solved
after about 6-7 weeks finally I found a solution for my problem
simply flash stock kernel alone (not all of firmware) by CMW. after that touch would work again and flash any ROM you like
download stock kernel from here
I'm having an issue with mine
Touch doesn't work no matter what kernel or rom I flash using cwm
Phone won't get recognized on pc no matter what cable I use or windows I use, and I have drivers installed properly
I seem to be stuck at the stupid welcome window where it asks that I touch the android to continue
Everything was working just fine when I was on stock, but I made the stupid mistake of not making a nandroid when I flashed lu Kat custom rom and now I don't know what to do anymore
Any help would be appreciated.

s pen stopped working

hello every one its unfortunately i ve had to ask for help as i ve gone all over the internet for my problem but there seems to be no fix for this
as i ve seen in sum other forums there has been number of people with the same issue
this all happened after i went to sweet rom, was on stock before that, s pen was fine ( i did post in the sweet rom asking anyone else had the same issue) .
soon as i would take the s pen out the phone would crash and restart again . i don't use the s pen much so didn't get around fixing the issue this is about 2 months ago since the problem started .
now i want to sell my phone for the note 5 i thought i better fix this issue .
i thought try another Dr kretan rom to see if the issue got fixed but unfortunately no it didn't, now the s pen menu comes out when pop out the spen , but no writing or hovering .... i cant get back to stock rom ( unroot) cause the firmware update via odi fails (<ID:0/004> hidden.img
<ID:0/004> FAIL!) which is another issue altogether
maybe downgrading to kitkat might fix the issue ?
can anyone help me with this issue ( i am pretty certain its a software fault don't think it be hardware as was working fine on the stock rom )
thanks

Nubia Z17 MiniS - Need help installing factory ROM

I bought my phone with a modified ROM (Build number: NX589J_CNCommon_V210)
There are several issues with this build like:
- insane battery drain
- google play downloads not working
- notifications not working properly
I was thinking about installing a factory build like the CN 3.04 or CN 3.07 hoping it might have fixed some of the major issues but I don't know how. The phone has TWRP installed but when I try to install the original ROM I get an "Error 7" message. With a Workaround I found that suggests editing a "update-script" file I get rid of the previous error message but get a "invalid zip file" error instead.
I've been trying for several days now and searched the forums and Internet up and down. So if anyone could help me or point me in the right direction that would be much appreciated.
