Facebook App Problems

Hello everyone, I am very new to the WM interface and this is my first touch-screen phone as I had a BB Bold for ages.
Just wondering why my Facebook App (already pre-installed on the phone) doesn't recieve notifications when someone inboxes, writes on my wall etc!?
I attempted Skybook but that didn't work either
Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks

Hi there and welcome to xda.
As far as i know or noticed, it is not possible. U will have to run the app to see notifications or messages. I gotta admit its not the best FB app, but personally im not too fussed as i hardly use it. But if you are a hardcore facebook user, u might get a little fustrated.
Alot of people have mentioned and will continue to mention that Microsoft/WinMo need to up the ante a bit more, but hopefully we will see improvements with certain apps with WinMo 7.

You probably already know, but when u go to facebook mobile site and u scroll to the bottom, there is an option for facbook TOUCH. Go there as it is much more finger friendly.

Theres a facebook v1.1.0.14 here at XDA-Dev have you tried that?

stock froyo 3d lancher.apk here it is

i have found the stock froyo 3d lancher for sense roms , very smooth and the best , look at attatchements lancher .apk

Works great on DarkStone's HD2Froyo,
i've tried getting it from a Sense ROM but it wouldnt install, thanks!
EDIT: i've noticed with the widgets, it looks as if theres a live wallpaper (i have a static) set and takes away the quality of the widgets.

I an using the same build as you. Here comes a stupid question - do I just drop this in the Android folder? I have never had to install anything in android yet

Put the .apk on your SDcard and use Astro or something simular to launch it.
Depending on the build you may also have to select in phone options to allow non marketplace apps to install.

How would you uninstall this if I wanted to go back to Sense?

you can switch between interfaces by taping home button ,

Works like a charm!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

the left button (phone) doesn't seem to work, anybody got an idea how to map that to the dialer app? or contact app?

just tap the cal button we don;t need it anyway , but iam with you it needs to be fixed

same issue here as well clicking on phone icon the message comes that " Application is not installed on your phone"
comeon guys its just penuts for you to resolve it, i like dethis interface, also does any one knows how to get back default android lock screen as my rom has htc sense lock screen?

Delete HTCLockscreen.apk from /system/app and then reset

Hmm, I can't get this to work on FroyoStone.
When I open the .apk file it tells me it's already installed, even though I don't have the 3D launcher, and it gives me the option to uninstall. I even tried uninstalling the old package, rebooting and reinstalling the file found here... everything looks the same.

sure it will be the same , it is the stock lancher like what is in the froyostone

Oh, really?
I thought this was the 3D launcher like you see in Nexus One. You know, the one where the bottom of the list fades away in a 3D manner.
The one on FroyoStone doesn't seem 3D at all, it's just a grid of icons on a black background.

go to settings apps , apps manager , lancher pro and choose clear defaults then press home button and choose lancher

deleting the file would give you trouble turning off your alarm. only a shutdown would turn off the alarm. do you have to do something else for this to be solved?

I really need your help guys!

Hi there! Bought myself an desire HD and are really pleased!!
BUT one thing, EVERY time I read a message the message is STILL unread at the status bar!! I have to manually drag the status bar down and press remove, anyone know how to fix this? PLEEASE

Are you reading it from the widget or actually opening the message application? Because it wont remove the notification if you're only viewing it from the widget.

I use the default shortcut to the message application(right now I am using EX launcher) but it's the same with default HTC sense.
I've found other people experiencing the same problem, but no resolution !

I have no idea then may seem a tad extreme but you could try a factory reset I suppose.

Tried that too from the memory card ROM full restore

Then I'm gonna stick with no idea :/ Sorry I wasn't much help!

its a common bug if you on the 1.72 base rom/ or using the new 1.72 radio thats got that bug if you use CM7 you will never get that problem

IMO stock message notifications are buggy..install Handcent SMS and your life will be much easier (remember to disable native notifications though)

What is CM7 ??

Instagram and facebook notification problems

I can't make changes in push notifications menu in instagram, also push notifications won't appear for facebook and instagram. And can't update instagram, it's old one. Someone helps

Omfg I hate when people say „cant update”. WHAT DO YOU MEAN YOU CANT?! WHATS THE ERROR MESSAGE? HOW DID YOU TRY TO UPDATE? WHERE? There are million of things why it doesn't work and with no information we can't say what to do...

Chill bro, people come here for help. Try to give them that instead of freaking out like that.

I don't know how it is in english, but in battery manager there should be something like secured apps where you can prevent apps from closing after screen is off.

Well, it works. But I disable battery led in the app, but it doesn't stop it. Everything else works. I use the same app version as I used on my old Note8 which ran without problems.

I switched from Lightflow to your program a while back and although it works well, it seems to be missing some features such as alternating lights when two or more alerts come in.

It should alternate for more than one notification at the same time, disable battery optimisation, otherwise alarms wont be triggered.

Doesn't seem to do that for me and yes, battery optimization is disabled otherwise I wouldn't get the first notification.

Please add a debug file after you got the problem (2 notifications at the same time) again. (Enable debug under extras)
