[ROM][beta]ApHaSia~v1.0~{Non(¢'s)~ - Thunderbolt Android Development

Nocoast's unofficial insomnia nonsense. I named it aphasia because i feel like I have brain damage! This is probably the most stable rom I've released, but Ive only had a night to test it
Preface:I got a clenener (CLNR) and was pretty blown away at how fast the interface was with everything stock, so im going to carefully pick through every app from the 605.5 pull every sense element that doesnt have anything but BASIC utility, then replace with fede launcher. Ev3rything is running smoothly. So far no FC's. Please make sure to update your SU binary.
This is NOT a team liquid release, this is just something I whipped up tonight while we wait for LGS to finish up..
so while we wait for the next liquid release to come out, i figured id make something very simple and stable for the nonsense platform.Again. this is not a team liquid release. (if it were it'd have cooler mods lol) This is a team im an insomniac release and jdk told me to do something on gtalk release. Big thanks to HTC for the 605.5 base, thanks android police for hosting it. (I originally built this off a debloat but i wanted to be a freak tonight,,)
The notion behind this rom is that you get a very stable, lean, clean slate with which you can do whatever you like (for those of you who like the stability of a stock rom but can't stand rosie launcher, this is for YOU!)
So the features of this rom are
-removed and as many htc apps/modules as possible, while still keeping it functional (note the personalize button probably wont work)
-Liquid modded fedelauncher -credit to liquid (thank you!)
-IMO's 5.1 Kernel (thanks)
-605.5 base debloated (thanks HTC for the base!)
-deodexed/zipalligned all apps
-custom android boot animation
-Taskiller modifications (customized by myself) done in the kitchen (I think they turned out well...)
-Your choice of stock HTC keyboard, stock gingerbread keyboard, and ics keyboard is included iirc (i havent slept) in order to activate the keyboard just go to input settings and click it on (Credit to TeamLiquid)
-removed, peep, htc facebook, friendstream, basically everything htc
-AOSP MMS APK -FINALLY GOT IT LINKED WITH HTC PEOPLE APP. That means you can click a contact in htc and start an sms and it will open the aosp mms.apk! (believe it or not I killed myself getting this to work in the past and i still had no luck) credit liquid for the aosp mms.apk)
-I forgot to update the superuser binary, should have (one of, if not the) newest superuser apk but youll have to update the binary from within the app (im sorry, hope its not too much of an inconvenience)
if you run into any issues with apps regarding root MAKE SURE you update the su binary
-tons more I've forgotten.
-Since market auto installs all of my prior apps, I dont quite remember if im missing any credits. Credit to the dude who made ICS keyboard if it did wind up in this build aswell as credits to jrummy for rom toolbox (again, that mighta auto installed im fried) and credit to ChainsDD for Superuser
As usual big thanks go to Liquid, perhaps after I brand this and add some liquid tweaks this can be an official liquid release. For now though its just a fun beta I did tonight just to switch the pace up

The base began at about 470 megs, its down to 170. I could probably trim more fat and will but thats all I could get tonight, I rebuilt this thing quite a few times originally starting with DeTards' debloated base, but in the end I found it more stable to just use the stock and debloat myself...
please post any issues you guys have with this.

[Q] Which Rom to flash?

I'm getting a wildfire delivered on Weds, it's going to be network branded so I'm going to be de-branding.
I've been reading through the forums over the afternoon and have one question that I could do with other peoples input on.
I've decided that I'm going to load a custom ROM, I've read a lot of the guides and feel quite confident about the whole procedure, however I'm really stuck when it comes down to choosing a ROM.
I've looked through the other thread that lists the main differences, I'm just wondering what other users of these ROM's have to say about there chosen ROM.
I was originally thinking about using the Cyanogen ROM??? just wanted other peoples views/inputs on the various ROM's
Thanks.

Read this first, and look closely at the red marked text. Is that something you want? The big question is, do you want the HTC Sense look or do you want LauncherPro?
I'm using the latest Openfire with SetCpu, and my Wildfire is not gettin any faster than this. The downside with Openfire is that it doesn't have those 'important' HTC apps that you want. For example HTC Camera, HTC Flash and the HTC caller id app..

There is a small chance that I might flash WildPuzzle because of those missing apps.
As mentioned in my OP I have seen and read that thread.
I'm more looking for peoples views/reviews on how good/bad each ROM is when used on a day to day basis.
no caller id!!! need that to avoid those unwanted phone calls.
with the overclocked ROM do you see better performance when browsing etc?

Yeah I see a noticeable difference With proper settings in SetCPU, phone and launcherpro, the phone becomes noticeable fast
Thought I could use the same thread to post my questions, they've got the
same topic.
- How do I copy my current set of OS/rom or what you call it?
- Due to the fact I like the HTC sense but not the lag of the Wildfire
I thoght WildPuzzleROM could be pritty good. To overclock I guess it's "setcpu"
or somthing like that. Could you guys help me which one to pick and
what I should know about it.
If Im not totally of I guess I should first have to root it, then copy the old rom
and then simply change to the new Wildpuzzle rom.
- And last, is it possible to find swype for wildfire WITH english and swedish keyboard. Or atleast swedish (and åäö).
Thanks for all awnsers!
EDIT: kernal, which one. What is it, and so on..

[Dec 27][SD]MyTouch4G v1.17.531.2[Android2.2.1][G1][Hastarin r8.5.3]

I am learning to port rom to update my favorite build. It may contain bugs but I know Glacier fans cant wait anymore
- Based on the newest HTC Glacier/MyTouch4G v1.17.531.2 OTA update (Android 2.2.1)
- I kept this build as stock as possible like a HTC update, no modding, no new Gapps, have lot of bloatwares... you can tweak/fix what you want.
- I have modified the htcclockwidget based on cryshop's 3D X'mas Fancy widget skin and it look great with animation weather too.
- Added some Asia auto APNs
What's not working
htcCamera can take wide mode only

Thanks!!!!
Thanks! Will try it and report!
Looks good, booting as I type!!
yeah ...why not. Lets try it out
Hmm interesting always willing to try new things .
Downloading now. Will post results. Thanks!
how to make it multi-language?
Here is the new framework-res.apk to have the percentage battery icon.
Replace the file in /system/framework/framework-res.apk and reboot.
As always, backup your old framework-res.apk before updating
You can use rootexplorer or android commander to replace the file
Enjoy!

Great build, has been stable, battery drainage is acceptable.
Now, how can I remove the stock apps? most of them are non-functional apps anyways, like the wi-fi calling app (I would've loved if it worked :'S )
Been using this for about 3 hours. It seems slow to wake up from sleep, and a little slow going between calller menus. Otherwise I like it. Like above posted need to know how to get rid of unusable bloatware. Will try Astro or linda. I am using stock 3.14 rom with hard spl and 2.15 radio.
Updating the Kernel to the latest from MDJ and Hastarin does not break the camcorder and camera. Using Hastarin 8.6 right now and it doesn't seem to fix the wake up lag. It is better but still noticeable.

thank you sir.
can you tell me what you did do to the rom just so i know what's been done before i got a hold of it?

Since your phone is s=off it is doable, because you can change the /system folder and have stuff stick. With that being said i know there is a thread in the development section that has a lot of gauge options on it. If i can find it i'll post a link to it for you.

Thanks for the work on the link Neid. I am actually using one of those now.
I was specifically looking for one like the link above displays. Apparently I haven't been able to find that exactly.
I know some of the custom roms have it available, but was curious if there was a file or something that could be pulled from them to make it available for the sense, stock ui
I know one of you stud guru's can do this in like 5 minutes!
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=990829
Cook it up here if you want. There is an icon like it in the battery mods section.
damn that's tough, I can't find the needed files. Thank you for the link however
how did you theme your current setup? If you used a flashable zip, you use that. If you used the t-mobile theme engine you use the apk. It shouldn't be tough. With that kitchen you just need something to start with, so as long as you aren't running straight stock no theme, it's a quick file dump and let the kitchen cook it up.
I am using the recovery back to stock, which was titled, 1980-01-06.00.08.33. I got it from these forums for a stock recovery with sense.
I am still rooted, and S-off, verified through 3 sources, and i can add mods.
I tried looking in that file last night, but didn't see anything.
You are saying just throw that entire zip in kitchen? I will try that tonight (Can't remember if the zip was over the 9mb limit kitchen had, which I think it was)
no that won't work. You need an apk to get it going, since you're using stock you'll have to find one of the t-mobile theme engine apks already included with stock. I think androidian is one of them. I'm a little surprised, for someone who wants a really customized look you shouldn't be using an odexed ROM. Something like RoyalGlacier would be so much better. It's MySense, stripped, deodexed, zipaligned, and has a lot of tweaks that are great. Much better kernel included as well. Take a look at the thread in the development section. The touchpanel update included in faux's kernel is worth it by itself, it's like getting a whole new phone.
Ahh Darinmc, thank you for taking the time to reply.
I actually have RG ready to flash on my SD, just hadn't yet. I know RC2 was giving me a force close loop, so I undid back to stock until they had more time to work bugs.
I think I will give RG a shot.
Again, thank you very much for replying, think I will try Androidian and then RG
The best thing about TR ROMs is their support. Follow their instructions for installation to the letter. After that, if anything, and I mean anything, goes wrong, post a detailed report in the thread and they will bend over backwards to get you up and running. Having problems with RC2 probably had something to do with a bad install (this is not pointing the finger, simply pointing out that when dealing with custom ROMs many things can happen during an install), the TR instructions are more detailed and generally create better results. Happy flashing!

Miui V4 With Sense 3.6 Base

As i was digging around, i was not quite happy with current ROMs available. (Dont get me wrong, all of the ROMs are freaking amazing, im just... a bit of a diva) I couldnt leave Sense 4 (or 3.6) without missing the camera and i cant leave ICS roms (or JB) without missing the stability and functionality.
Without further ado, i found a miui ROM with a sense 3.6 build (meaning that it has sense framework and has sense 3.6 camera) I do not see current further development on the rom but it is perfect for me. Everything works, everything i fluid (things are a little laggy for Apex launcher but Nova launcher works beautifully.) Here's the link for the thread i found it on:
http://miuiandroid.com/community/threads/two-roms-miui-dhd-ics-4-0-4-2-9-21.18060/
The original thread is here: http://www.miui.com/thread-698365-1-1.html
(NOTE: I am only referring to the first link and the first one only!) The first version is the original, Chinese version. The second includes virtuous kernel (redone with a bit of their own tweaks to it) with other language fixes and what not. Have fun, im here to give the news
(The screenshots literally come from the original thread. What can I say? Im lazy.)

unable to see anything more than the other 3.6 rom? improvements, fluidity etc...
The ROM itself is very fluid and stable, it's not like it's bulky counter; part sense. It has the ics fluidity and sense apps. Can't say much more. The only sense app that I am aware of is the camera at the moment. Maybe you can install more because it has the framework? I dont know, i havn't tried. I'll update OP with pictures.

From what I can see, everything works! I don't notice any errors, or lag etc. OP is updated with original thread and its screenshots
UPDATE: I tried it and IIT WORKS! If you want any sense apps, then take it from a sense 3.6 ROM and move it into /system/app change the permissions accordingly and restart your phone. It should work without any trouble
I flashed version 2.9.21 and had random reboots. No way to reproduce them. The original forum says to disable "Phone Misuse in settings to avoid reboots and FC's". Of couse I did that, but still the same problem. Tried with stock rom kernel and beastmode...
Any ideas?
EDIT:
Jameslsmith fixed Wi-Fi issue in version 3.
Yea, he pretty much took over. Go to his forum from now on.

FIUI (future interactive) is a rom similair to miui but without the theming features. like a purebred match of of both roms, would be elite for a user not into themeing, who focuses on stability, speed, and or simplicity. this rom is unique as it has some new features to the android system. fantastic bar, the nav bar, and the mid-screen status bar are the features that will draw you to or fro this rom, also the touchwiz style status emblem (swipe) may persuade yer interest. this rom was originally ported by the same developer as the miui rom from this very thread and again, has chosen to remain nameless, explaining why i have merged roms into single thread. this rom should be compatible with any captivate kernels, selinux disabled is not required as miui is. please note the disclaimer from miui applies for this rom/post as well. the only bug is the nav bar which is infrequent, sometimes yer flash will show the nav bar as solid black, blocking the bottom half portion of the phone/messaging apps. my first flash, the nav bar was clear. im not sure how to fix it. anyhow. the nav bar can be accessed by tapping the bottom left corner of the screen. i didnt experiment enough trying the fantastic bar yet. to busy miui.

this MIUI rom is probably compatible with all 4.4.4 kernels, however, selinux breaks the themes, updater, and backup apps'. you can flash the kernels from the philz thread, which i compiled disabling selinux. a link exists @ post #8

It was so close to perfect. things were snappy as all hell but there was like a 30min delay on receiving texts. also couldnt get the market to download.
weird as heck. that free ram though. if texting worked it wouldve been hands down the most usable rom. (even with a broken playstore)
