Wanted to know if anyone else has noticed this lately. I lost my Evo and, unfortunately, did not have insurance on it. So I was stuck buying a new one, but when I went to the Sprint store on Friday (12/2/2011), I was told they didn't have any, that it was discontinued (which perplexed me, seeing as the original still has the best tech specs), and that Sprint had ordered the stores to immediately ship back any they had in the back.
He informed me it's been officially replaced by the Evo Design 4G, which after doing some research, realized is a locked phone with a signed bootloader. Seems Sprint is taking action to do away with all the free WiFi hotspots that rooted Evos aren't paying $30 a month for. I don't like the looks of this.
Needless to say, I had to find one online, which ended up being cheaper than I expected. (Best Buy wanted $600 for a Evo 4G with no activation, got a new one for $250 online)
Anyone else noticed this in their area? (I'm in Boston)
The EVO4G is at the end of life and is by no means has the best tech specs anymore. Plus it also has a locked bootloader but it was worked around for root.

But the EVO design is probably a different phone and bootloader than the evo ... The evo bootloader they cracked was not a evo design..

I should have been more specific. It has the best specs in the Evo family. This is different than just a locked bootloader, it's a new form of digital signature that is, I'm assuming, the reason the device (Evo Design 4g) has no xda page. Plus the revolutionary.io method is not compatible with it, they've made that very clear on the site. And that method works on all other Evos and most other HTC phones.
Check out this forum.. if you haven't already..lets get the design some support and it's own forum!

That's strange.
Are you sure he knew what he was talking about? In my city, they still have.
Short of the 5mp cam. I don't see how the design is any less spec than the og EVO. As far as root is concerned, it took us a month or two to get the shift rooted.

4" to 4.3" Isn't that significant of a difference. I'm with you, I like bigger screens... but for most people that's not a problem. Although i can see how it seems smaller. The Evo 3D is the same way, it's narrower and taller than the Evo 4g, but seems smaller. The biggest factor in screen is the qHD (960x540). Although i have no experience with the phone, the MSM8655 chip should also be a huge improvement over the qsd8650.

I thought I read somewhere that the design is getting ICS. If that's true and it gets rooted it wouldn't be half bad.

For my Sprint 30 day guarantee. Tomorrow is the last day I can return my Evo and walk away without a termination fee. Im coming from Tmobile and have used just about all their phones and all iphones, and the Evo holds its own. I love the screen size, and its build quality. But the main thing ive liked is the 3g coverage, its no where near as fast as Tmobile in my area, but i do alot of highway driving and get 1mb plus everywhere. With Tmobile once i started getting away from the city it would drop to edge. I guess ill go play with tmobiles new Mytouch 4g and make my decision there. I just sold the g2 i had which i hated, but I still own my Vibrant and iphone 4 so i could always go back.
But so far what I Like:
Screen size!!!!!
Build quality!
Dual Flash
3g Coverage
Development support.
What I dont like:
Super amoled looks wayy better.
3g is slower but still fine (Evo= 1mb+ to Vibrant=5mb downloads)
Graphics Suck. Live wallpaper slows it down, and 3d gaming is barely playable
Sprints Customer service is no where near as good as Tmobiles.
Oh yeah after a talk with sprints retention departmnet, They waived my actication fee, and provided me with a credit of $50 since I mentioned the Evo could be acquired online for $150, just in order to keep my service. And right at the end when I mentioned I would continue to think about it, the rep offered me a $10 credit every month for the rest of the contract (24months). This would kick in on my next billing cycle.
My 27% discount would also kick in next bill, making my total bill $50 plus tax which is still a little more than if id return to tmobile
Kinda hard to argue with those discounts, not a bad deal right there.
But I can't understand how you like AMOLED screens more, YUCK! They always look odd to me, too blue or too vibrant and kind of pixel-y? They are more readable in some situations but still I think they look awful.
Not gonna lie... i really like the new myTouch. I am a fan of sense... also, hspa+ rocks in my area, and gsm is easier on battery than cdma. Add to that our wimax radios... lol, still love my evo though...
Is say they earned your business, man that makes me think I need to complain more..lol
The ten dollars off every month would more then compensate for the cost of the phone its self.

After having the Evo I just dont see how i can ever own anything smaller than a 4.3in screen. Ill more than likely stick with The evo untill sprint or another carrier releases a highend 4.3in that isnt lock down. I do love the phone, just wished it could handle graphics better.
With the discounts im getting and the coolness of the Evo ill probably stick to Sprint for now unless the mytouch4g blows me away, which at 3.8in I dont think it will.
Now the Nexus S/2 could be interesting.
I was happy getting a 23% discount from --removed by mod--
I am also of the opinion that you have way too much time on your hands. For someone who is trying to drive their price down to nothing, you sure have a lot of the more recent phones, that you clearly could have sold to make up for any cost of having a phone in general.
While I am also a former T-mo customer, I gave them my money for 10 years, but honestly I don't think they are offering the best phones this year. As for plans, everyone I know can't touch my 4G speeds. As for customer service, I think Sprint has done a pretty good job with you.
If your just here to get attention, then I'd recommend moving on to the (Insert Next Best Phone Name) forum. The EVO on Sprint 4G clearly is the winner. If you don't have 4G then I can understand your dilemma, but still I highly doubt that you have a T-mo Talk/Text/Data for less than $50. Hell, its probably not less than $70 if your including insurance on your phones.
Good luck.

First off, nothing wrong with having all the latest and greatest phones out, it's by far the best way to find out which phone you personally like best. If I could afford it I'd do it too.
Second, evo is hardly the winner. All phones have their downfalls and can be considered better than others in their own right.
My nexus can be considered better than your evo for a number of reasons.
1. Google owns android. Nexus is google's baby. It is also a developers phone.when android releases froyo, gingerbread, etc. who is the first to get it? Me. Have fun waiting months for yours to update, or for some samsung owners, possibly never.
2. I'm hitting 60 fps, enjoy your 30 fps. You may have a bigger screen but can't fully enjoy it. Playing 3d games on the evo is atrocious.
3. Sprints 4g service had been highly touted this I know. But recent testing done by cnet, which I consider highly reliable and non bias; shows in NY sprints 4g getting 2-3mb whereas tmobiles hspa+ getting 5-6mb and it's not even considered true 4g lol but it doubled sprints. Now of course mileage will very.
Don't get me wrong, evo is a great phone. it's like having a portable theater in your pocket. It took me about three weeks of intense research comparing top phones on all carriers to reach a decision. I was hesitant to get the nexus considering how old it is, released in january. But it still using the same processor as many off the newer phones including evo, the 1ghz snapdragon. Yes your chip has been updated but mines still faster lol. And I like using a developer phone and getting updates before anyone else. Some may consider updates not that big of deal but froyo increased browser speed up to 30%, not something I'd want to wait months for to enjoy.
Oh and I have to say I love the trackball. Comes in handy for selecting text or other tight spots while browsing. I can also have it blink different colors: red for missed text, blue for missed call, green for voicemail, orange for email, purple for low battery, works for notifications as well.
It's nice having all this information without even turning on my phone.
This is officially by far the longest thing I've typed out on my nexus, got to love swype lol.
The nexus one is outdated. No matter what you say. Gingerbread is rumored to come out Nov 11 and its main feature is an integtrated video chat app. Nexi don't have a front facing camera. So right there goggles baby will be handicapped with that feature. I love the nexus a year ago when it came out but data speeds aren't nothing to brag about especially if its a matter of seconds. I think the mytouch 4G is ugly, it has to much bezeling on the side. A trackball is not needed when you have a big a$$ screen. And super amoled screens have been known to burn-in the screens. All the features there's no other phone that has what the evo can offer.
Front facing camera
Kickstand
Unlockable
Sense (which is the next best thing to vanilla)
4g capable
Capacitive buttons
Skinny
Sexy looking phone
Your making a rant in the evo section , in perfectly happy with my evo. Of all the phones I've owned this is by the far the best. With features and functionality in account.

Yes the nexus has been out since jan that's already been stated. Thanks for that bit of info. But it still has the same processor as the evo, though an older version. Yet it is still overclocked much faster than your evo.
Front facing camera, unlockable (lol did you really list that?), htc sense (lol? Anyone can flash that), 4g, skinny (hardly, compared to other smart phones it's quiet bulky, hence the pocket theater)... All these features can be found on many phones...front facing camera is over rated I can do without. How many video calls have you made in the past month?
Trackball great for alerts I don't even have to turn on my phone to get notifications.
With that being said, I'm glad you are happy with your evo, enjoy
I actually use the front facing camera a lot. I chat with other evo and iPhone 4 users. Given the ratio its pretty thin. And what's wrong with using the same processor. You want a better processor then go to Samsung galaxy s series. Good luck with the gps on there tho. Humming bird processor blows everyone out of the water. When I mean unlockable I mean the boot loader is not on lock down. And not everyone phone can flash sense, DX or D2 can't. Which are the newer phones comparable to the evo. You were seriously contemplating leaving Sprint to go with t-mobile cause of data speeds in a restricted area. Kinda of ironic cause the only thing that you sound to be proud of on the nexus is the processor speed. Processor speed don't mean **** if you don't got 3G or WiFi connection. Edge sucks on tmo and ill take Sprints 3G even tho I have the same processor as your sexi Nexi.
Scoobasteves: Evo is just as fps unlocked as nexus, that's old news.

Are you in a bad mood man? Geez.
First I never tried driving their price down, I called about possibly porting my number and what the process is. The rep was the one asking questions and was being cool about wanting me to stay. So he offered me a discount.
And yes it's cheaper for me to go back to tmobile even with my 27% sprint discount. We have had a family plan with tmobile for 8 years, so adding my line back would only be $5 and an additional $30 for Internet.
Maybe I do have to much time in my hands, but I've never complained about prices or tried to brag about my phone being the best. I understand there are always new phones coming out and thankfully I have had the ability to try out a lot of them. I just like phones and the evo is among the best I have liked, but far from being a clear cut winner. I'm not one of those guys that think my phone is the best in the world and out down every other phone, i like to try out a lot of different phones if I'm able to, and enjoy it.
I guess I'll just enjoy my Evo and it's awesome screen size.
T-Mobile is a dying company I think, they gotta step up their game. They have lost 25% of revenue compared to last year.

I was not trying to badger the OP. As a matter of fact I am a former T-mo customer and was very happy with it.
Is the reason your plan a T-mo is cheaper because you are on a family plan there and not a family plan at Sprint? If thats the case then its apples to oranges.
To the Nexus Guy. It was a very good phone and I was seriously considering it when it finally became available on a plan rate. But that didn't happen till AFTER the Evo came out. I was on the phone with T-mo monthly to find out when that would happen. They could never give me an answer. So I took the plunge and got the EVO and never looked back.
T-mo's HSPA in my area is garbage. Seven guys I work (in Tampa) with have the Galaxy, and all of them claim 2-4Mbps. I get regularly 6.5Mbps. It may get better, but it isn't right now.
Processor? Seriously dude? if thats all you got with the Nexus, then you need to sit down. Developers phone? Seriously? Ever heard of Root? Oh yeah... all of T-mo's new phones are getting lock down. FPS? Spend more time on XDA preeze. Sprint unlocked it about 2 months ago. XDA did it even longer.
Nexus is a beautiful thing. But I am sorry, it is inferior to the EVO in about every possible way.
since were leaving sprint next month and going to t-mobile im hoping my wife will allow me to get her some type of budget android phone. although im sure she will want a blackberry again.
myself im looking into getting the g2 or the nexus s.
what will be your next phone after the evo?
As of right now I'm not sure impressed with sprints ces showing. I'm looking in to a dual core phone but I'm in no hurry the evo has plenty of life left in it. But if i was to leave sprint I would get a nexus S
from my phone duh
I really wouldn't take any other phone over the Evo for right now, but if i had to choose it would also be the Nexus S.
I am good with the EVO but I would go with the Nexus S.
I'm sticking with the EVO for a while... I haven't been this satisfied or entertained with a phone for this long, EVER. As technology improves (ie. dual core processing), I will eventually get something new. I'm just not stalking any new phones as of yet. I give myself another 6-12mos, before I really want to try something else... Who knows, my EVO might actually last the length of 2yr my contract.
More than likely one of the Verizon LTE phones. I just read an article where Verizon said they're going to continue offering unlimited data so now I just need to see how they're going to price their LTE plans. Sprint has been good to me but I want to be able to use 4G inside my house if im paying for it.

+1. My next phone must have at least the same size screen and more features, including gpu.
I would be willing to switch carriers, but not manufacturers. My single biggest complaint with the entire industry is the horrible battery life, and non-htc phones are too much trouble to mod...which means less of a community to develop fixes.

Ramiss,
I disagree I think Motorola has such a big user base and development community that it would be a great alternative to HTC. I was honestly considering the droid bionic since I wasnt to impressed with both sprint and tmobiles ces showing I thought that was one of the better phones available because of the network it was on and because of the power it had...
i think the nexus s will be my next upgrade when we switch. the only thing i do not like is no sd card.
jesus, i checked checked out prices at verizon and it's down right outrageous.
id actually be much better off with tmobile, id even save some $$ compared to what i pay sprint.
Got my evo on launch day, so I can upgrade in June. As of right now, I don't see any phone worth upgrading to. I want a phone with at least the same specs as the evo, except for screen size. If there is a phone with great stats, and a smaller screen, I would go to that.
As many of you, the Evo is the best phone I have owned. The only thing that would make it better for me, would be a higher res screen, and dual core. So unless I see a phone with those specs, I'll keep the evo.
HTC thunderbolt. For sure.

I really don't see the need of dual cores in a cell phone, unless you guys plan on playing Need for Speed while the phone is also converting a Blu-ray ISO into AVI format in the background.
PS. My name is HondaCop and I approve this message.
Droid Bionic, but I want something on Sprint.
I've had (literally) everything at this point, and sprint would have to do something colossally stupid to make me give up my evo.
That said, if I went to tmo, right now id go for the nexus ONE. Its a brilliant device, I've not been impressed with the galaxy line from sammy yet.

U might think about the evo shift. I wouldn't want it but if u want a smaller screen then that would be a plus. Even though the processor is 200 mhz slower it manages it better than the evo. The quadrant tests I have seen ran on it are very high. I love my evo too much to leave it yet. I myself am not impressed with the evo shift but the screen is smaller, it is kind of the smaller version of the evo.
Sent from my PC36100 using XDA App
I have the original Evo and the new Evo Shift and that little puppy can fly...lol. I'll be elgible for an upgrade this April because I bought one of those Google I/O released Evos off ebay, sold it, then bought another Evo for full retail and i also bought my Evo Shift for full price. Therefore, my contract never changed and I still get to upgrade in April. Therefore, I'm going to wait to see if Sprint has something up their sleeve like an Evo 2 or something. I love Sprint's pricing and customer service and really don't want to leave. But if I have to, I'll probably go with Verizon and get the Motorola Bionic or HTC Thunderbolt.
I bought a Nexus S and that phone was a joke imo. the only good thing is that you're the first to get updates. Other than that the phone is all that. It had too many issues so I sold mine.
I was wanting to upgrade my GSM Hero to the Desire HD, but do not have the cash at the moment.. lol, sooo, my sister is with Sprint, and i was looking at the EVO 4G, and, it seems like the same phone pretty much? I was just wondering what input the wonderful people at XDA have on the EVO? thank you^^
You will get great feedback on it for sure, but how do you have the gsm hero (are you in europe) and trying to get the desire hd?
Anyways the Evo is a desire hd without the new look and without the new sense most of the stuff is the same , and is great device, is the only phone the hold me this long to get another One(I got it back in june 2010 when it came out ) and is the best android device in Sprint at the moment (sorry I hate the epic 4g) if you coming from the hero you will definetely feel it faster and better (specially cause of the processor and the big screen ) and they have offer online to get it at 150$ or maybe less on contract
Sent from my PC36100 using Tapatalk
I am in the U.S. and i got the GSM Hero unlocked, and was going to do the same for the Desire HD, but.. at around $450.. I decided to have my sister put me on her plan through Sprint so i could get it a lotttt cheaper, I think i read it $199 after the mail-in rebate, so.. $299, and I don't think it is bad and i would have better service than T-Mobile.. -.-; (GSM Hero isn't compatible with their 3G....)
you should look for the EVO online .. can get it even cheaper.
there is a $125 additional credit if you qualify for porting from another carrier. search for the details.
The Evo is a great phone. Giant screen, fast, smooth, efficient, excellent developer support (if you ever want to root your phone and flash stuff), it has 4g, there's a huge selection of good cases and accessories.
The bad?
Battery life
uhm
Battery life
but we're fixing that,
I figured battery life could be fixable with the right ROM etc.. Rooting it a difficult process? My Hero was crazy hard due to it being the first Android phone I touched, haha, and wouldn't the cheapest be through Spring? With the rebate and money off for the contract?

EDIT: and there's an a phenomenal development community here that is very fast, very active, and very good. The community here in this forum makes the Evo the best phone in the world, IMHO.
Nope Amazon mobile got some good offers and root is easy with unrevoked, and there is guys too, Idk but I find it easy

where you see the $99? lmao, i think i mightttt be a little tipsy, and i was gonna use unrevoked to root my girl's Incredible, but.. it seemed too easy to be true? lmao, and does that go with like, my sister putting me on her plan? lol
For what it's worth, I bought one on launch day and havent regretted it once. Even Sprint's customer service has been remarkable... which surprised me since I used them from 2000-2006 and it was always like dealing with "some guy" working out of the back of an old van...
There are now 5 Evos on our plan.

I was wanting to upgrade my GSM Hero to the Desire HD, but do not have the cash at the moment.. lol, sooo, my sister is with Sprint, and i was looking at the EVO 4G, and, it seems like the same phone pretty much? I was just wondering what input the wonderful people at XDA have on the EVO? thank you^^

The Desire HD is like a second generation EVO. Better display (SLCD), 50% more RAM, faster/more efficient CPU, a significantly better GPU, and way more internal storage.
At this moment it'd be kind of foolish to get a EVO. The newer HTCs are better, and their "real" next generation phones are just a few weeks away from being announced. TBH, the real handicap with the EVO is it's GPU and internal storage.
Well i paid for this month of T-Mobile, so it would be a couple weeks.. and Sprint is the cheapest way for me to get a new phone due to my sister being with them already..
I had the regular hero before the evo. I was happy with both.. Hero was al ittle dated tho.
You likely gonna get a more bias opinion here than anything else... but the EVO is a great phone. Of course it's fast and smooth and all that... but what makes it stand out IMO is the outstanding dev support for it.
The custom roms here range from Sense UI, to aosp like CM, even MIUI. I never tried MIUI but as far as the other roms, most are excellent. Smooth, awesome battery.. Devs constantly updating and making tweaks.
You also have a deep theme/mod section to play around with for the evo. The only knock I can think of is it is starting to slowly become dated.. but that doesn't at all make it a bad phone.

Same here. Got it in June but the phone crapped with bootloop in Jan...called Sprint they shipped the replacement the next day. That's without the TEP...I've had best customer service experience.

What he said...Evo is a nice phone and everything, but it's soon becoming outdated. If i were you i'd wait a few more weeks.
I was going to get my wife a Hero before her discount expired, but when I went to the Sprint site tonight the Hero was no longer listed. I know I was there a week ago and it was there for $49.
I guess they finally ran out of stock. Which means this area might be moved again. Favorite it now!
That Sucks
Oh, it's so good though. They should at least make a second version of it

If Hero 2.0 had a dual core processor in it, how much would you like it then?
Why don't company's realize people like getting the 2nd 3rd and 4th version of things. Look at every apple product. Revise your product, add a number to it... How hard is this? By doing this you get closer and closer to a perfect device rather then creating new dislikes and problems.
I Agree with you term117. Rather than making new devices HTC should release the v2.0 of our Hero.
I was at a Sprint store about a week or two ago and they actually had one booted up and running on display, which is funny since they aren't supporting it with updates anymore... am I right? So for $50 you can purchase yourself something that the manufacturer and carrier deem outdated and not worthy of upgraded firmware.

You have to have something that people actually "like" first... which I think most people do like their Heros, and then you have to successfully make the change or leap without screwing it up. Personally I think the Hero should have less buttons. Just the four basic Android buttons would suffice, like the LG Optimus S.
I can sell you mine, I have a new EVO coming. Going to pre-order a Nexus too.. I am addicted...heading over to the Flashing Roms Everyday Anonymous Krew now. FREAK for short. lol

Actually, if you google hero 2 there was or is a hero 2 out there. I believe it only went to another country not america and I see the information is at least 1 year old. They only put a 600mhz processor in it. here is a link to the specs.

Just preordered my Nexus S 4G from Best Buy yesterday bro. That would be the one to go with in USA on CDMA. These others you are discussing are not Sprint phones.

Is there 4g service anywhere in Naptown? Airport possibly or maybe around the track or Lucas Oil Stadium?
-----
Sent from my CDMA Hero. I got some hot Gingerbread-on-Hero action here!
So... out of curiosity (and that's JUST what it is), if I was to have an accident with my hero, and have insurance, would they replace it with a hero, or something else?
Like an Evo?

Not sure. I could care less about the 4G part, 3g and WiFi work just fine for me. Have to pay the extra $10 no matter what phone I get anyway (sucks, but what can you do) I have liked this phone ever since the T-Mobile one was released. I was about to switch from Sprint due to the lack of new phones until this and the EVO 3d were announced. EVO 3D not due out till summer but if the size of the phone remains the same, I would not be interested in the new EVO. Like talking on a brick. Don't flame me for that. I know all the specs on the new EVO. It is impressive but size does matter.

I've been seriously considering the nexus s, but those dual cores are a siren song for me.

Yeah, but it just has a 1ghz processor and the 5mp camera on back is fine, but a VGA in front. It is a nice looking phone, it is like a Hero dressed in all black. I would just think would have went a little higher than the 1ghz processor and they should have at least put a 1.3 mp camera in front. Maybe I am just being too picky. I am alomst due for a new phone and the EVO 3d looks nice, except for the size dealy. I agree that Sprint is lacking in telephone department and I too have thought of just going to another provider, but then I lose my ARAMARK 18% discount.

I have to agree! Dual-core then I thought don't really use my phone in away that warrants one. Nexus 4G leading followed closely by the Shift(I believe they are getting them OC'ed to bout 1.5ghz.) just my Opinion
EVO 3D for me. I liked my Hero, but the first one had jogball problems in 3 weeks, the USB port went out in the 4th week and I replaced it with one day to spare on the 30 day exchange. I only got it because I wasn't going to pay the then 4G "tax" but now since I have to pay anyway, I'm going for it.
The Evo... I remember when I got it.. the world felt new.. the amazing camera, the blazing fast 4G, the endless apps.
Yeah, the honeymoon is over. Problems with this phone seem to be as never ending as its features. Sprint must hate this phone because of all the problems people have with it. Don't get me wrong, it's Sprint's best phone by a long-shot and was the best phone out for a while, but damn, I'm holding my second replacement Evo and I've discovered just two days after I got it that the camera app causes the phone to crash (tried searching for a solution but to no avail, maybe someone here will know how to fix it)
I'm thinking about hassling Sprint to just send me a Nexus S for my next replacement (they're total pushovers, tell them you've been with them for a decade and they'll treat you like the sage on the hill).
Would it be worth it? Anyone here had experience with both devices?
The camera is a big deal to me, so comparisons would be awesome.
tl;dr I'm pissed at my evo do I keep it or switch it for something else? Sprint phones only.
The galaxy s 2 is right around the corner...I expect it to be released within August. It already went through the FCC with a wimax chip so that means it's going to sprint. It would be stupid to get anything else right now unless you really love the Evo 3D or Motorola Photon
My wife has a nexus s and its real nice. Camera is comprobale to ours as long as your not blowing the pics way up from original size. The phone is supper fast and slim. I've been thinking about hailing sprint for one to but I'm trying to wait and see if the nexus 3 comes to sprint.
The Nexus S might be a solid choice, but as stated the GS2 is right around the corner. And further out is the new Nexus. Tempting, the SGS2 is, but many complain about Sammy and their updates. So long as CM7, and beyond, is supported I couldn't care less. But if you think you could deal with the Nexus S then why not? Especially if you'd be willing to shell out for a device when you're not due for an upgrade.

Of you're having problems with the evo, try to swap it for a nexus, its a great device. That way you don't have to use your upgrade and you can wait for the prime or sgs2. Personally after using the nexus s I will likely only buy nexus devices in the future.

Okay Heres hoping
So I have swapped EVOs 3 times now looking for a s-off bootloader. So now I have been instructed to claim insurance from an employee account tech to recieve my 4th evo. What are the odds asurion WILL infact send one that was previously S-OFF. So if I do in fact recieve one that is not S-OFF looks as if it will have SOME sort of issue so I can get a handset swap......... Oh by the way I am getting my 100 deductible waived as well WOOT heres hoping....

I just got an insurance phone and it is S-ON, so good luck.
Meh, I'm keeping my evo for a while.
Right now the SGS II is almost out but then what? the galaxy and the evo can both
Send texts
make calls
get emails
use flash player
both run 2.3
both have great cameras
I'm not saying the sgs II is bad, just think the evo can live a bit more, most apps out there aren't even optimized for the dual core chips.
But I will admit there are advantages such as formfactor/screen/ SPEED! and a few other things
its like upgrading from the iphone 3g to the 3gs at this point. (I'm not ranting or being a fanboy of the evo, just stating an honest opinion)
My phone is rooted and it has the S-on
