Menu key unlocks the phone? (dj05)

Hello I'm running dj05 and if my phone is locked and I press the menu key it will unlock my phone.. Anyone else have this problem? I'm using jt .7 and the stable stupidfast kernel. Also running a theme, nextheme I believe..

Yeah I just tried and that happens to me too. jt 0.7, stupidfast v1.54 and gingerbread theme.

Using the aosp lock screen will do that. It even did it with DI01 as well.

That doesn't happen to me using the AOSP lockscreen, and never has (except when I was running NoLED and didn't notice that it automatically enabled it).
And for the record, I'm running SuperClean .7, StupidFast 1.97, with Ultimate Gingerbread.

Yes because it can easily be unlocked in my pocket now.. Ok so I prolly should know this but what is aosp?

Doesn't really bother me either, but I could see how some are annoyed. Wonder why it wasn't effecting Falcyn?

I'm guessing that Falcyn is talking about something else, or isnt using the policy.jar hack.
At any rate, it is annoying, but at current time there is no fix. It needs to be fixed within the jar itself. HTC Incredible had this issue on Eclair as well, so maybe its an Eclair specific problem.
Remember, its capacitive screen, its not gonna unlock in your pocket unless your hand is in there too.

Yup. I've had it on Epic for the longest. Tried it on my EVO as well and didnt have a problem. Its been flawless.

I just have never tried. Glad i did. I've always been told we(epic users) had to be rooted for it. Guess they were wrong.

ok i wana know how my phone just took a screen shot and i dont even have shoot me installed...im rooted running quantum....just got done playing with wifi-teether and some how i hit a button and it said screen shot has been taken and i went in the gallery and sure enough there was my home screen...

If you hold the home key and tap the back key it will take a screen shot.
It happens sometimes without you actually following the steps, I guess because out capacitive buttons kinda blow and are slow to respond.
its easier to do it with the keyboard slid out and use it.

Is there any app that can change the normal rotation animation to the cool rotation animations like android 1.5 or the iphone? the normal rotation is so boring i want something to show off

If you are rooted with S=off their are a lot of various Boot Animations. Root System tools has lot, paid app via the market. And there are SEVERAL in the app/theme section.

think he's talking about changing from portrait to landscape animation, in which case there is nothing atm.

as long as your rooted you can change it...
I made a few different ones for the stock rom a few months back so if thats what your using let me know and I'll dig em up for you...

im rooted with cm7 rc3 right now i might upgrade to rc4 but if you can only do it for rc3 i wont upgrade i really want the fancy rotation animations

im talking about the animation when you rotate your screen like the iphone does that cool animation to hide the rendering android doesnt even have a animation it just turns and shows it rendering which makes the phone look cheaper and slower than the iphone

Good work on the animations, however is there any way you can address the OP? I, too, would like to see a different animation for when switching from portrait to landscape.

Screen issue

Hi,
Since i few days, my screen doesn't turn on when I turn on my phone. I get a black screen until rom bootscreen, but it is... strange ( look at the pictures ). To take colors back, I have to turn off then on my screen.
Do you know what can be the problem? Is it a screen issu or connection between motherboard and screen problem?

I've been having a similar issue to you. It started last week. Same thing, no longer see the white HTC bootloader screen, but the difference is, mine boots normally into the OS.
When this started, though, the first time, the screen did change colours similar to yours, and was also inverted (upside down and backwards). Very strange.
Looks like we're both running ROMs based on Sense 3.0... wonder if that contributed.

you should try replacing the lcd. might have gone bad if the colors are messed up like that. ill pm u a link to a cheap one.

Same thing has been happening to mines. Does it more when the phone is hot.
I believe its just the lcd going out or the ribbon cable from the phone to the screen coming lose or getting messed up.

Well my phone has fell off the bed a few times and something mmade the cable lose. I took apart the phone and undid the ribbon and put it back and the problem seemed to fix it.

It actually is working very well. Includes a new CWM 5.5.something...lol.
Messaging app sucks...no dark option.

I so want to flash this, but I need my phone to work and the bug list is long and distinguished.
I can only imagine the progress they can make in a few weeks, then when all you die hards get all the problems worked out, then I pounce!

its worth checking out just make sure you do a nandroid backup you can restore cm7 or any MTD ROM you are on

I I am sure I will flash it at least once..

Face unlock is working pretty well. Got to be in a well-lit room though. But from m experience, it's working. It might not recognize your face sometimes. Try it for yourself. qbking77 also had a video on YouTube showing the face unlock feature on the Epic 4G.

I flashed it and face unlock is there. cant comment on how well it works because im in a darker room but i love it. I dont really want to go back to CM7. ahh why do i have to choose. :-(

Update: I've noticed it gets used to the charger and the heat goes away once the battery is at a higher percentage

Same experience. I was playing around while it was charging and it was hot. Checked the battery temp it was 102.5 or something. Put it down for about a half hour and checked the temp again and it was right around 90. And the battery was about 80%.

Why did the thread get temporarily closed?
