I have this Samsung Galaxy tablet that I got from a friend who switched to the iPad, but he was with Verizon so it is Verizon based! Is there a way to convert it to Sprint without destroying it? I am only capable of using it at my home right now through WIFI. I do have another (3rd line) through Sprint that is just an "emergency" line that I could use as a donor ESN (from what I have heard). Is this just a waste of time and effort?

I have an IPAD with $30 unlimited plan. On the 21st ATT is releasing their version of the Galaxy. Can I use my simm off the IPAD on the Galaxy. Now that would be kick ass...
Thanks
If you use an adapter, it should be just fine, though AT&T might be tracking the IMEI numbers of their version of the Tab to prevent this.
Apple kickbacks are sort of helping cover the costs of that plan, and you can bet Apple won't be too happy to see it used on non-Apple devices.
AT&T has said they are going to offer the same "iPad" data plans on the Galaxy Tab, so they probably wouldn't care if you swapped SIMs.

Yeah, but I think he's got one of the old plans they're no longer offering.
Micro. I just bought a tab. Put my Att berry sim. It did not work. Also, I couldn't connect to iPhone or iPad running my-wi.
WTH
R u saying you can't use tethering the Tab & iPhone? There is a post on how to use Ad-hoc wireless on the tab and it works. Either in this sub-forum or the General one.
I just picked up an AT&T Galaxy Tab and it works fine with the iPad sim. No need to change the APN either. I'm using a grandfathered $30/mo unlimited plan too.

I was wondering the same too...i put my att ipad sim in my rooted att tab and data does not work. Dont know much about roms but im told this is a euro rom. The tab hands down is a cooler devivce and i would love to use it with my ipad sim...any help would be appreciated
Ipad uses a MICROSIM
Tab uses a plain SIM
You will have to get an adapter.
Hi, I've searched through this, but I have not been able to find exact information. If you do, please feel free to point it to me - i will delete this thread.
I have been owning TMO Galaxy Tab (original) for a year now and I am getting Galaxy S2 from ATT because Amazon offered me it for a penny. I am wondering if anyone has tried to tether with ATT phone. I already read many post that ATT detects tethering traffic and forces customers to pay for tethering plan but the most I have seen so far have been with PC or with iPhone. My case is a bit different, I think, since it will be Galaxy Tab and Galaxy S2, but I want to check if anyone has been doing this. Being Tab user for a year, I am pretty sure I want to use Tab once in a while, especially for the navigation. I am thinking of paying ETF for Tab's 200MB plan, if that makes sense economically, that is.
Thanks!
Hello,
I'm thinking of buying a Galaxy Tab 10.1 wi-fi 4G (with Verizon) 32GO.
The question I can't find answer for nowhere is this:
The 4G is set with Verizon, witch is in United States. I live in Canada. Is it possible to use that tablet only on wi-fi from Canada without an account to verizon?
If so, can I later decide to change from verizon to choose a local provider to use 4g?
Thanks a lot!

Yes the Verizon tab can be used without an active SIM card as basically just a wifi device, HOWEVER there's a couple of issues you should be aware of.
1. If you're looking to apply custom ROMs to the device from this community know that of the various versions of the Galaxy Tab 10.1 the Verizon model is the least supported.
2. Most importantly be sure that the broadband network you're intending to use the device on ultimately is actually compatible with the device. I don't believe the Verizon tab is intended to be a full fledged international device but I could be wrong. It's possible that Verizon is the only network that the Verizon version of the GT 10.1 is compatible with.
If it were me and the decision to go with a mobile broadband plan is several months away I'd go with a used wifi only GT 10.1 for now and then put it up for sale again later to buy a tablet with mobile data plan on contract or used.
Thanks for your respond!
I think I'll do as suggested, but only a wi-fi one for now... And see later!
Now.... you are talking about ROMs... I'll have to learn about that! I don't know what it means!

Is it possible to flash the sprint variant of the galaxy s5 to metro and if so where or how? I've read up about att and Verizon versions but all I've heard about the sprint one is that it communicates through a different frequency but Idk
Bump
Since this phone uses CDMA, I would assume that you can, but I haven't used MetroPCS service in about 5 years.
Please note that you will experience reduced functionality (no LTE/download booster/WiFi calling) while flashed to a different carrier. You would probably be better off grabbing an international version.
I've got the S7 working decently - however, now I'm debating moving phone service to it (from a Galaxy Nexus). It takes a different SIM style (nano-SIM); will the reality that it is a former unique-to-VZW model work against me moving it to Tracfone? I was NOT the owner when it was in service to VZW. (My current phone number is with Tracfone, and it is that number that will be moved - to the S7; I will be sticking with Tracfone.)

The only thing unique to vzw was the color. The internals are the same as all other s7 flat phones.
I sold a S7 to a tracfone user. Right now I have the unbranded g930u firmware on the phone. Can anyone confirm that g930u works optimally on tracfone? Or should I put g930v (Verizon) or g930vl (StraightTalk/TracFone) on there?
Yes it work with straighttalk.
