External Bluetooth GPS receiver query - Galaxy S I9000 General

Guys, i happened to accidentally snap my internal GPS antenna on my i9k. So i plan to get myself the external Bluetooth GPS receiver from best buy (keyring type). I was wondering if anyone has any inputs on how it functions on our phone preferably on cyanogen mod rom's?

If you need, you can find somme support here: [APP]Bluetooth GPS for Android : BlueGPS4Droid

There are many threads about it, specially from last year...use the search function
And here you can see gps Bluetooth navigation in action (hardware and software),,:

Froyo Bluetooth Stack

Just a quick question. I searched but couldn't find what I was looking for. I am wondering about using the wiimote app on 2.2. I know all the devs say that wiimote wont work with sense because of a bluetooth stack (no idea what that means other than that's what they say the issue is). Because froyo will be fixing BT voice dialing i figured something with the BT must be changing. Will this change allow me to use wiimotes now? Thanks in advance for the replies.

Car Diagnostic Scanner

There was an app on the market that could connect to a bluetooth obd2 and read fault codes, rpms, temps and all of that wonderful stuff and it has literally disappeared from the market within the last couple of days, does anyone know the name of the app?

Hey first thanks for this tip! I didn't even know that such piece of software exists! I found OBDroid and Torque!
In addition i have ordered a bluetooth ODB2 dongle right now. Will test it as soon as i get it!

Matthias
Torque probably. Excellent program that lets you connect using bluetooth OBD-II, works flawlessly.
PM me if its gone and you need the apk
Marvellous job, it was indeed torque!
Now to order me a bluetooth OBDII!

[Q] MN Newest Version, Skype and Bluetooth

I really haven't seen much information on development for a Skype version or another VOIP. I would REALLY like to see one developed for use with Bluetooth. Does anyone know if one is possible with MN. Is anyone working on it here?
So....what...it would use your phone's camera and microphone, but display the video on your Nook?
No it can use bluetooth mic and we can use skype

Hook External GPS to Nook via Bluetooth

I was wondering if anyone knows how it is possible to connect an external GPS using the now hacked Bluetooth.
I saw no option in CM7 or MIUI to allow external GPS.
Thanks!
You need Bluetooth GPS from the market. Then somewhere in cm7 you need to enable mock locations. I can't remember exactly where at the moment but search the nook forums and you will find it

Mock locations is at Settings > Applications > Development
I use a Garmin GPS 10 over BT. It works fine. You need an app that uses GPS. There doesn't appear to be build-in communication with a GPS module where it will act like it's built in hardware. At least I never found it.
I've used GPS BT, Google Maps and a couple of others and it works fine.
But now that you mention it, that would be a cool feature for CM7 to talk to a GPS module automatically and treat it like built in hardware.

[Q] Looking for auto Bluetooth app

I am trying to find an app that will recognize when I am in proximity to a Bluetooth host and will automatically enable Bluetooth on my phone. I've seen several apps in the play store but I don't know if any if them will do what I want. I'd like my phone to turn on Bluetooth when I get in the car and turn it off when I get out of the car. (It would be nice if it would play Pandora too but I am not completely lazy!)
You should look into NFC tags. You could, for example, have one in a car mount for your phone, with an NFC app set to turn on Bluetooth and Pandora when the phone detects that tag.
