Which is the best Sense ROM for Tattoo? I want to be fast and stable and to have at least 90-100 MB free RAM? Is someone working on Sense Zero from this topic http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=19673472&postcount=18 ?

Sense Rom is outdated. you may try stable CyanogenMod 7 for HTC tattoo with custom MTD. it can give you lot of free space in internal memory. GB Roms are more trendy rom now, with firerats Mtd, you can re-partition the file system.

IWAN, the above xda link for custom MTD. I did flash ICS yestardy in G1 with custom MTD, it saved about 80 MB on old G1. I will try the same with Tattoo on Cynogenmod 7( stable) and it can save more than 110 MB on HTC tattoo.

[Q] Senseless NAND Roms? (Not gingerbread)

I've been searching the nand section for a while now for a senseless rom but i couldnt find any. The only senseless roms i could find are gingerbread (im using gingerbread atm, having some issues from time to time. want to test a lower version) or senseless SD roms.
Anyone know a reliable, stable/fast senseless rom that isn't Gingerbread and if possible not discontinued?

Android with or without Sense?

Although I like sense its widgets and its stability, flashing it in my HD2 gets on my nerves. The reason is that internal memory is full and i can not use it as i could. So that the best choice for a NAND Rom is TyphooN's CyanogenMod7. What are your thoughts?
I don't like sense roms for the simple fact that I have a EU HD2 and my memory card isnt the greatest so having to use ext3/4 as part of the system usually makes my phone slow.
The roms that I use at the mo are either boyppcs CM7 rom or hyperdroid CM7. As for the sense widgets, I just use the Sense themed launcher pro

Hi,
Please check my sig...guide number 1.
You could try using the scripts in the nexushd2 thread that has the apps2sd uninstaller and the data2sd installer its easy to do and it frees up internal memory and gives you a higher quadrant score. You will need to partition SD card I used minitool partition wizard for mine, I have 2 partitions one fat32 and the other ext3.
With sense I will say...
No sense for me. Should try these 2 roms:
tytung's NexusHD2 (pure Android)
tyween's Typhoon CM7 (better Android with CyanogenMod)
Typhoon CM7 is good ,but now it have some bug .you must be install hotfix.
Nexus ROM have bugs that when you call, you can not use gprs unlessyou udate network
No Sense for me. Too resource hungry for such a limited interface. It's simple, all-inclusive, and pretty, but imo it kinda dumbs down a smart phone.

I have to agree, while sense looks pretty, that quickly wears off but the sluggishness doesn't.

Racht's HTC Salsa sense rom 2.3.3 , fixing together?

Hello,
I noticed that racht might left X8 forum few months ago, his last rom was a great sense rom which was based on HTC salsa.
However, the rom's porting was incomplete, there was a few bugs, and these bugs are the point why we don't use it for a daily rom.
I think maybe we can fix these bugs together, anyone interested?
-Root reboot (SD Card safe to remove)
-Wifi & Mobile network
-vibration
-3D
I asked NobodyAtall for PM, I heard that the way to fix SD removing bug, is cooking the rom,so I think there must be someone to cook for us. I asked racht 3 days ago but he didn't send me replying.
Just for your info, Sense ROMs are very memory consuming. I agree that they're really beautiful, but for our tiny-memory, I think it's unsuitable.

Hey kevin all racht's Sense roms are Great
But the problem is the Lack os stability which we all know.. :/
Though i was waiting the bootloader 2 be unlocked so racht will finally port those roms for daily use..
i Wish i have been a developer ..
Umm...I don't think it's that suitable for our device, either.
Doixanh is right, for example, there is only 10mb free in /system
and if we use a sense rom, we won't get enough free ram.
HTC Hero has 191 MB ram, but they still feel slow on sense3.0, maybe we can improve gdx's sense 3.0 lockscreen, so many users will probably be very happy.

MIUI only runs on ARMv7 processors, we have ARMv6. Don't be expecting MIUI on your x8 anytime soon.

BIG JD, you say that you could have a fully functional Sense rom for X8?
If so, when? I'd be happy if this is possible. Peace
I will try to fix wi-fi and the root acess on this rom tonight.
And the RAM Usage, 30mb~40mb free sometimes..
Indeed, this rom can be ported, but there is really alot of work with it.it should be re-cooked,and it would be very hard to run stable on .29 kernel.it requires .35 kernel, maybie (!) It could run on .32 kernel, but there are many problems with kernel porting.
Any progress Salo-s ? Wish I could contribute but I'm some what of a novice still when it comes to code and stuff...congrats to those who are trying tho.

Did anyone notice that there is also an Eclair Sense ROm available to download it racht´s thread....maybe it´s old, but I´m sure that it´s easier to fix, as it doesn´t require a higher kernel version or new libs.
Yup, it runs veeery smooth, I hope someone can fix it.

I intend to create a thread to post the progress of clean up the rom ... maybe later ... : D
Well are we all sure its possible to get a fully working sense ROM for x8? Hopefully someone will resurrect this beauty to its full potential, cuz that HTC salsa 2.3 Rom is tooooo awesome! Peace

[Q] Should I flash Defy+ ROM on my Defy? Is it worth upgrading from CM7?

Okay so I have a Motorola Defy running on Nordic Froyo Kernel and with CM7.1 nightly 63 as the real system and CM9 111202 Nightly on dual boot (SD Card)
I've heard about the Defy+ ROMs such as MS2Ginger. Moreover, recently Epsylon3, the dev working on the ICS port upgraded to the GB sbf. So maybe the next CM9 builds will be running only on the new kernel.
MY QUESTION IS: Will I be able to revert back to stock Froyo safely after flashing the GB sbf? Will I be able to use all the ROMs working on stock Froyo like CM7.1 (which I can't live without) or MIUI? Is it worth upgrading to stock GB now or should I wait for a few weeks so that CM9 gets stable?
Thanks in advance!!
PS : I'm sorry for just another GB to Froyo thread but none of the others answered my question.........

CM7 is apparently custom GB ROM on Froyo kernels
You can move between GB kernel and froyo kernel, just make sure you flash the kernel zip file through custom recovery. That's how I keep moving so often between CM9+GB kernel and CM7.1+Froyo kernel.
Do NOT flash the GB full SBF through rsdlite, you'll loose downgradability.
Some users have reported that customer service said Defy+ will get ICS official update, if so, we Defy non-plus users can get that kernel too

At first, this thread was wrong section
by the way, I've been used HD2 Tmous for 2 years, over Froyo, GingerBread, ICS and JB too. But GingerBread Rom with Tytung Kernel is the best, Working smooth like a charm, everything working, bit game performance lower than Sense Rom. If you findding a daily use Rom, Nexus HD & Miui 2.3 was choiced
Miui Rom (happy to use this ever): Change Log | Download Link for HD2 | Tytung r16 Kernel (flash after rom installed - to updated some feature & speed)
Tytung 2.3 ROM AOSP [Nov. 10, 2012] NexusHD2-Gingerbread V3.3a
^^ that all

Inndinky.. i guess you havn't updated your ROM in a longgg time.. tytung ICS also works flawlessly.. JB is near to perfection with upcoming v1.3..
PACman 1.2a is also amazing if you want to have a lot more tweaking options then tytung's ROM..
The biggest PRO with tytung ROM over others is non-technical.. ie. his change logs and instructions are far more clear and precise then any other dev thread on XDA.. and i have seen a lot of those..:good:

No, you dont,[ i always try new roms, when it release, ICS seem to be work flawlessly, but how about low ram effecitve ? Battery Drain ? Call Volume not reconized the level you set before,Camera taking pictures in slow speed, HWA some time work and some time... i dont known, in this case we talk about a daily Rom, not try&tester.

Inndinky.. i never really experienced any of those issue but you could be correct.. as it had been long since i ditched GB as my first exp was with honeycomb and i opted ICS for its features over GB.. Battery drain is a problem but tweets can get you there.. camera i'll compare with GB.. thanks.. HWA and call Volume.. no problems yet.. still thanks i'll check out GB today..

First of all, nobody can answer this question. There is no 'best ROM' as this is completely subjective, i.e. it varies from user to user. As you can see, you've already received tonnes of different answers, because different things work for different people. In general, all of the ROMs which are regularly updated are great, so try any one out and see what works for you. Some general trends (remember it won't be the same for each ROM and these are based only on my opinion and experience) are:
1. GB is smoother and more stable for every day use than any other Android version
2. ICS is marginally faster than JB but doesn't have all of the features such as Google Now
3. Sense is slow
4. JB>ICS>GB for web browsing and gaming
5. I personally don't see the influence of 'Project Butter' in JB vs ICS.
6. MIUI and CM are about equal in terms of performance, there are advantages and disadvantages to both
7. Battery drain is consistently between 3 and 5 ma. I've had slightly better battery life on GB than on ICS or JB, but once again the difference isn't particularly noticeable. All ROMs should get through a day of usage without issues.
