I had a couple of questions...
Firstly, when i slide the keyboard out on my phone to type, the screen obviously changes to landscape mode. I only use my phone in my car for WMP and TTN etc, and so I keep it in landscape mode. So is there any way to stop it returning to portrait mode when i slide the keyboard back?
My second question was is there anyway I can disable the keyboard from popping up when I select a text box? Preferably a reversable way incase i change my mind
Thanks
If I want to change the orientation the screen I tap on the orientation button and the screen became landscape but when I extract the keyboard the screen return portrait... so I want that when I replaice the keyboard the screen come back to landscape... is it possible???

Why not press the orientation button while the keypad is still out?
because I don't want to tap the orientation everytime...

The device was designed to work on portrait.. so it will insist on going portrait.
You may ask vjay555 on this forum to write you a simple program that will force your device to stay on landscape. A very good developer.. he makes simple tools like that. He's a mod here.

SPB Mobile Shell has an icon to rotate screen. I do not know if it can help you.
Why not map a button (such as button 5) to rotate the screen ?

I hate auto rotate on my Evo4g. Is there any app out there or way to make a gesture rotate the screen? I know there are tons of apps that will put a auto rotate toggle widget on the screen, but I have to hit that before I go into a program I would like to rotate, and the back off again when i am done with that program. Does anyone know of anything that will allow me to manually rotate the screen while in an application? I like how I could just hold down a button for a few seconds on my old windows phone and it would rotate the screen. It seems simple enough, but I can't find anything. It would be nice to hold the menu button on the evo down for a few seconds and have that rotate the screen....
Hi
The home screen on my play does not rotate to landscape - is this by design? Sure I've seen a review photo where the game pad is open and the home screen is in landscape...
Other than that, isyncr and cubed mean I don't need my ipod.. (just a better headset)
Cheers

3 options
1) disable auto open when slider opens in the "xperia play" app and it will start opening in landscape mode
2) download a 3rd party home replacement like "launcher pro" and there is an option in there to use the rotate to landcape mode based off device orentation, if you disable it it still opens in landscape when slider opens
3) ensure "auto rotate screen" is either diabled or enabled in settings>display settings

Thanks.. my findings:
1: made no difference.
2: will have to check this out
3: made no difference.
meh
I've now installed Launcher Pro (free version) and it now turns to landscape..
However I need to weigh up if thats better than being able to have a folder on the bottom bar (dock?)
How would I revert back to 'Sony Ericsson Home' if I tick 'use by default' when pressing the home button? (ie Launcher pro set as default)
cheers
