No mhl Support but shure you can use USB Otg on your Nexus 7.
Someday, hopefully sooner than later, there will be some wireless options available to do that type of thing. There are some demo videos showing those types of things and they are coming... wires are going away... right this sec, not avail yet.

Update: PS3 Controller Support

Hi,
As the Xperia Z is PlayStation certified, they've rolled out an update to provide support for connecting a DualShock 3 PS3 controller using OTG, to be used over bluetooth when paired.
Here is a video explaining the process:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=B_Z3QnXWZm8#!
This option isn't present on build number 10.1.A.1.350, the version my UK Sim free XZ came with, but take note this is for most Xperia phones. I will have to buy an OTG cable, and try it out using a spare DS3, and I'll try with a SIXAXIS too.
Apologies if this thread is unwarranted.

S4 Mini to be compatible with Galaxy Gear!

Samsung announced that the Samsung Galaxy S4 mini and Samsung Galaxy Mega devices will also update with the Premium Suite software, to get Android 4.3 and Galaxy Gear support, within a few months.
CREDITS: http://www.ibtimes.com/android-43-j...es-galaxy-s4-s3-note-2-premium-suite-software
That's good news! Hope it means we will get additional features on this phone! (MHL, USB Host maybe?)

Is S4 mini GT-I9192ZWAINU MHL compatible?
How to stream video from S4 mini GT-I9192ZWAINU to TV set using MHL/HDMI/USB?
I dont have a Samsung TV set, hence solution should be workable on all TVs having HDMI /USB port. The specification sheet on Samsung India website does not say anything about the compatibility with HDMI/ MHL. If S4 Mini is MHL compatible then I can use MHL to HDMI adaptor. Please confirm MHL compatibility.
I can confirm that MHL and USB connectivity does NOT work on the S4 Mini.
Galay gear working with MK5 update
Updated my Verizon mini to the latest update. Connected the Galaxy Gear and everything worked perfectly.
I've read this story before, please look this topic date time october 28 2013.Galaxy gear compatible already came 4.2.2 update. I think android 4.3 dont rolling out s4 mini.I will waiting 4.4.2 kitkat in march or april.

Otg support

Does Galaxy tab 4 t231 have USB otg support? If not, can it be enabled by any method? Planning to buy this tablet. Please answer.. Thank you for your time
Sent from my Nexus 4 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
Would really love to know this too. It's my understanding previous versions of the Galaxy Tab support USB OTG, and would love to enable it on the Tab 4.
On my smartphone I have an option in settings to turn OTG on and off, unfortunately no option seems to exist on my Tab4. Assuming the Tab 4 has hardware support for it, how would I go about enabling OTG?
Bump...
Would LOVE a solution as well~!:good:
Ran USB Diagnostics. As of now there is no support whatsoever but a custom ROM or Kernel may be able to enable it. I suppose there is a slight chance since the larger variants have OTG support and the hardware is similar.
Edit: Playing around with some OTG apps, it appears that we do not have hardware support so there's about 70-90% chance the tablet will purely not support it and trying to do so would be impossible.

I ran that same app on my Tab4 as well, unfortunately I wasn't able to understand everything the app told me so I concluded OTG support on the Tab4 was inconclusive =P
Considering OTG is supported on the other Galaxy Tab devices, what reasoning would Samsung have to not enable this feature on the Tab4 7.0? Especially if the hardware is the same (or very similar) it just doesn't make any sense to me why they wouldn't give the Tab4 7.0 OTG support as well. It's actually very frustrating in 2014 that this Tab doesn't support OTG. I am almost considering returning it solely for this reason (I haven't yet, because I'm very pleased with everything else the Tab4 has to offer).
My cheap, Chinese sub $100 android ICS tablet I bought last year had OTG support! What gives Samsung? I sort of expect more from a major brand like Samsung.

So, I may be wrong but I believe the problem may be in chip set itself, since its Marvell CPU (I never heard of this company). However, the Tab 3 also carried an older Marvell CPU, which they were able to overcome this problem with a custom Kernel. So, may be this tablet has slight chance of having OTG support but Scumbag Samsung decided that they don't the cheaper tablet to sell.

Well I'll certainly be holding out on that slight chance for OTG support lol. I was really looking forward to using my tab 4 as a second display with DSLR Controller, so you can imagine my disappointment when it didn't work =/
Either way, if a dev ends up seeing this and wants to implement this feature, let me know if I can do anything help (beta testing custom kernels) or whatever, just let me know. I'm more than willing to help move this forward, even if it ends up not working.
Hi, on my t235 otg works. For now i've tested it inly with usb storage sticks (8gb tdk, 8gb toshiba and 16gb verbatim) - stock file manager and total commander fully works with it. I dont have any mouse or keyboard to check that it works on otg.

HI Osiris, do you got OTG work with Tab4? i'm in a similar situation with a Canon 70D & DSLR Controller...
In the page of DSLRController is a list to compatibility & models
best regards
i am willing to test the otg kernel i have a cable and a few different usb devices i would like to use with my wifi only
unit
I was curious if my Tab 4 has usb otg support. Turns out it did, even tho those usb otg checker apps said it didn't. I was able to open up the stuf on my usb stick. My model is SM-T330NU and i'm on 4.4.2
Also, it also supports external dac (Tested with Fiio E17) and it works with spotfiy. I'm starting to like this tablet even more .
I would like to buy this cable in order to use my Tab 4 to charge my Nexus 4. (Only need this on the road charging done when I'm on vacation, which is every 2-3 years, making buying a battery bank not worth it)
Would this cable work fine?
http://www.ebay.ca/itm/Micro-USB-Ma...323059?hash=item419dbd9ab3:g:h94AAOSwuWVWE0V1
Please note my main objective is not accessing USB keys or HDD's, but purely use the cable to charge my phone. Accessing a USB media storage would be a bonus.

Hi is that a 7" or an 8"? The 8 has otg but my 7 doesn't as standard. If it's a 7" how did you get it to work? Would LOVE to get OTG working on my tab4 7" as it's literally the only reason I bought it and didn't realise and (wrongly) assumed) it would have it.
cheers

[Q] MHL Cable for Grand Prime ?

HI Guys
I want to buy a MHL cable, but I want to make sure that it works. Did someone tried a MHL Cable on Samsung Galaxy Grand Prime ?

NO. MHL cable will not work with this device. Here is a quote from "GSM Arena" review:
Wired connectivity is handled by a microUSB 2.0 port, which lacks MHL, leaving wireless mirroring as the only TV-out option.

You can read the full review on the following link:
Samsung Galaxy Grand Prime review: Mirror shot
The issue of MHL is addressed on page 3 under the heading "connectivity".
Hope this answers your question. Best of luck :good:
So this means there is not mhl that will work with grand prime? Or is there a specific one?
Grand Prime does not have MHL capability or technology. So no, no cable will work, try a different "newer" phone.
Or you can purchase a gentrification mirroring dongle with no proprietary software. It allows you to connect to the same wifi and mirror with the help of miracast or airplay app from google playstore. I got mine from wish for around $10, shipping included.
