Stock ICS ROM image of Galaxy Nexus? - Galaxy S II General

Been reading GSMArena and found this.
I am an idiot in these stuffs but without the drivers isn't this thing possible to be flashed on our GSII or is it something completely different?
Please delete if this thread is meaningless.

Flashing is always possible, but final result will be a big nice brick

Questions about official TW

Maybe this information would be interesting for other rooted Tab users as well.
- Is the official released TW the same that was leaked?
- Because there are reports about problems during installing official TW on rooted devices, when can we expect a enhanced TW, maybe a kind dev could reply on this
- Is a TW mod in the works with stock honeycomb look? TW looks rather ugly
Thanks to all the devs out there! You are heroes!

Preparation for ICS via Kies

Ok you been running custom roms root stock roms and now you want to join the rush for official release of ICS .But you have a non genuine firmware /product codes etc .
Simple method of preparing to get the release is one restore your original saved firmware on a clean phone Kies will update once your provider releases ICS .
No saved rom then go to
Check FUS downloader: http://fus.nanzen.se/download.php?id=12
Download and open it find your phone find the original supplier ie Voda Orange TMob etc or punch in your phones original codes and download the firmware .
Backup data and anything you want to save from your phone just in case .A Nandroid backup is useful at this point .
Now open Odin and flash the firmware you just downloaded this will also remove root .Its unzip download to single file .tar.md5 Open Odin put this file to PDA and flash as normal
Connect to Kies and when your phone provider updates you get ICS via Kies .
Above should apply to FOTA updates if they are available as well .
Alternative is to wait for ICS release and grab your copy via CheckFus or grab a stock Samsung ICS rom from the stock roms sources once released .
Or just sit back with your GB and wait for the custom roms to be built on ICS before moving to Android 4 my preferred choice .
ODIN how to
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1125282
Addition a method to spoof firmware codes may be of help to some .
Spoof FW
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=959806
and in that respect the next post contains codes for a number of phones .
hidswver

Again all these methods need not be used for ICS but can be used to download the original firmware that can be flashed for warranty purpose as well as upgrades .

Why are you posting this? ICS doesn't come out today. You get mad at others for posting ICS topics and threads, yet you posted one when ICS is not even coming out today.

Did he say ICS was coming out today?
If you bothered to read the post its for people who might want to start preparing their phones in anticipation of the ics release via kies.

You can't see the distinction between a guide to prepare your device for updating to ICS officially and a bunch half-baked-rush-to-post threads about the latest ICS release date news?
Good stuff! This should help quite a few noobs and hopefully reduce the amount of 'how do I upgrade' threads once ics is released. Because there will be plenty of them.
Probably a good idea to make a guide for downgrading from ics because, like downgrading from 2.3.6 people will ask that question 100 times a day after release.
I wonder how many times we will have to link this and other helpful threads in the near future.

I think you've missed the point.
This thread is a good idea. I've subscribed!
I have root using Easy Rooting Toolkit [v4.0](zergRush Exploit).
Have downloaded latest matching firmware, but file have extension .enc2 ... what does this mean?
Can I then use Odin Mobile with EverRoot to flash this firmware downloaded using FUS downloader?
And how much will be wiped?
Thanks
great post
willbe very helpfull

Someone always has to moan about something.
Is it stupidity or jealousy maybe ?
This is a useful topic, with no mention of update dates.
Well done.

XXLQ5 Brick Bug

Just for everyone know:
XXLQ5 has a Brick Bug Problem.
If you flashed this one have extreme caution.
There are several S2 Brick reports occurring.
If you want to downgrade your firmware be careful.
At the time only with Syiha Kernel 3.3.2 as been possible to do a nandroid restore.
Please view some info on this pages:

Sorry didnt see it
Sammobile did us a great favor, leaking ROMs that will brick some devices... I wouldn't have released this. Just look at some leaked roms from the n7000. I prefer to not have leaked ROMs and wait for the official. Not their fault, but they now it's risky.

[CUSTOM ROMS] N7000 All custom ROMs in one place

Alright everyone, Angelos from www.roms-db.com contacted me.
And i'm happy to let you know that after high demand, he's finished in adding all the Galaxy Note roms to his database of custom roms http://galaxynote.roms-db.com.
He would greatly appreciate it if everyone could check out his site and maybe give some feedback if any information is wrong or missing. Also when there are any updates not mentioned (for example the android version (4.0.3
..., or the rom base (Touchwiz, etc...)))
The site for the Galaxy Note roms is http://galaxynote.roms-db.com
Thanks Angelos!
I would appreciate it if a moderator could make this a sticky since it's going to be a great help to the forum and the members/cooks!
Cheers!
great work
Wonderful, im also expecting for the all kernels in the same place.
wow! great site mate!
Hello Nimac91.
I have a humble request. Can you add custom Gingerbread firmware as well?
Also, is it possible to a step-wise installation guide for each custom firmware? Perhaps members from XDA Developers can assist in compiling such installation guides.
Just my thoughts! Thank you for listening.
Much easier for newbies like myself who have yet to flash a rom...but yes please kernals in same place would be great with instructions lollll pushing ittt abit

Sir i bought Galaxy Note GT-N7000 with box and complete acc... seller told me it is imported from Hong Kong and unused and original... phone seems original as i know about this as used before, everything is ok and original.. but i am confused to checked its sim slot... it have micro sim slot while the Galaxy Note have mini (standard) sim slot.. i know Korean 4G LTE version SHV-160X have micro sim slot which i used before.. it is also showing model No. GT-N7000 in about phone.. android 4.0.4 ics.. doesn't have antina on top... i want to install 4.1.2 jelly bean stock rom in it but there is no option for auto update in about phone which GT-N7000 has.. i installed CPU Identifier from google play to know what actual it is ,,, it is showing CPU info as Snapdragon while the GT-n7000 have Cortex A9 CPU.. model # showing GT-N7000 (SHV-160K)!!! Now i need to ask what custom rom should i install in it? for GT-N7000 or SHV-E160K? so that i would not brick my phone... Awaiting suggestions from developers...
Good.. You have done most of the work... If it has Qualcomm cpu then not N7000 roms.

OP Please Please PLEASE before you start flashing do some hard core reading. It will only benefit you in the future. Only flash stuff for your phone and if you are looking for a sense based rom there are experimental ones in this forum with threads already started. Again I could not stress enough about reading.....
R.I.F. - Ask an old skool cat what that means if you dont know...
