Help me Fix Camera/External Speaker/Wifi Disassemble - HD2 General

I've recently to to fix my cellphone reception by opening my phone. After I performed the mod. My External speaker wifi and Camera no longer work.
Any idea where these connectors are so I can double check the connections?
Thanks!
My phone is also running much hotter than before.

One connector is on the back of the mother bored (the side facing the metal) and the other in front. Then check and make sure that you ribbon cable that connect from the camera to the mother bored are connected. One all the that is FULLY connected it should work again. I would show pictures but the ics rom doesnt have the camera working yet. But what it sounds like to me is the main ribbon cable that has the camera and speaker connected to it isnt plugged in correctly.

USB CAP

Hi, there are lots of posts about damaged USB ports. I was wondering does anyone saw or uses any cap for USB. It should be something like rubber SD cap. Just plug it into USB and you can reset the phone in complete darkness . And it could be attached to leash loop with little thread not to lose it while on charge/sync. That would also prevent dust from accumulating inside USB port. Anyway I couldn't find anything like that. Maybe some DIY ...
I was thinking the same thing cause i am having to replace my tilt due to breaking the usb port with the stylus. I would love any ideas on how to do a cover.
bump..
sounds like something that should of came with the phone..
This would be a great idea since I have to realign my usb port every once in a while. The only way I can sync with my computer is by using the HTC USB Headphones adapter that came with my 8525. AT$T said that they would not exchange my Tilt for a new one because bent pins are not covered under their warranty due to "personal damange". It's really weird that I can't use my Seidio Cradle to sync with my computer anymore since it has the same proprietary USB jack. It will only charge the unit and if I move the Tilt while plugged in to the cradle, the connection is not always consistant.

Haha. I thought I was the only one. Went to do a soft reset, wasn't looking, and stabbed the USB by mistake. Didn't notice it wouldn't charge until the next day. Fortunately, I was able to bend the pin (GENTLY) back into place and it works again. BIG sigh of relief

wizzard wont sync

hey all these days my wizard would sync perfectly but today it jsut charges and doesn't sync i did a hard reset but still don't work .. i tried in a different computer and it doesn't even identify it
anyone have this problem???
had the same problem. all days it worked and then suddenly just charging (no sync, no identification). I also did a hard reset but this changed nothing. then I did not use my wizard quite a while (about 3 months)...tried it again and it worked perfectly fine. i have no idea where the problem was...so mate I have no idea how to solve it but you see...there was a happy end
I just got given a Wizard and it's got this problem too, charging but no sync. Problem with mine looks like a damaged mini USB connector. I can see that the plastic in front of one of the pins on the bottom of the phone is broken.
This thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=300240 has some suggestions on where to get replacement connectors.

how easy is to replace this connector.
i have replaced the screen and got all the way down to the MOBO but i didnt see that mini connector.
edit: i meant i did see the connector but its soldered to the MOBO so i was wondering if this can be replaced.
im having the same problem
In the forum link I posted above people have said that you can damage your MOBO easily if the PCB gets too hot when soldering.
I have access to a hot air tool used for SMD components, which lets me heat all the pins on the mini USB connector evenly. Using a soldering iron would be more difficult and increase the chances of damaging the MOBO.

[Q] metal strip on top under power

When I put my phone to the charger, the metal strip at the top is under power.
When I get a call and it's on the charger it's even worse and hurts my ear .
The same happens when I charge it by USB on my PC.
Is there anyone who has (had) the same problem or more important has a solution?
The phone has already been twice to repair but it's still not solved.

I have not experienced this problem. Please take it to your local HTC Centre or the shop where you bought you HD Mini, this is not normal behaviour. There are in fact a lot of defect units in HD Mini

me too. but I noticed that this issue was only with my old laptop (5-6 years old). honestly it seems that with my new laptop the mini doesn't fry my ears...

In most modern power supplies/chargers there is a high value resistor and low value capacitor connected between the 'Mains' side of the unit and the output. This can sometimes cause this effect. If you run a sensitive part of the body (the back of the hand for example) along a metal cased item (such as a video recorder or hi-fi unit) you can sometimes feel it there too. I could be that your ear is sensitive enough to pick up this (very) slight voltage.
If you can feel it in your ear, but not in your fingers, it is most likely to be this small 'bleed' voltage and is normal. You could try a different make of charger (or as suggested above) a usb port from a computer and you might find that you are less sensitive to the values of resistor/capacitor fitted in these alternate power supplies.
The old style of power supply with a weighty transformer didn't need the 'bleed' resistor/capacitors and so you only noticed this effect when connecting an 'old' style item to a 'newer' one when you could sometimes see a small spark when the two were connected. Again you might sometimes see this effect when plugging an aerial lead into a TV or Video Recorder, for the same reasons.
Its very simple, your computer is not earthed correctly. I had the same problem with my last apartment, when I charged the phone thru my computer and touched the radiator with my foot the phone bite my ear.
The apartment had old sockets without earthing pins.
My phone has not breaked down due to this but I have problem with usb connection to my computer, it always find the phone as unknown device.
So if you pull a wire between you computer chassie and a radiator or sink this problem will disappear.

help pls, phone not charging ( not battery point)do i take phone apart?

need help please people.
my phone hasnt been charging properly for a few days now, to get it charging now i have to get one of my missis hair bands and wrap it round my phone and then round the usb cable so it stays in , although today it doesnt want to charge at all now .
ive noticed that the connection in the phone is loose and you can move it round a litle bit,
now the bit i need help with , is do i take the phone apart and try to fix it.?. im thinking of doing this but unsure about taking phone apart ( dont think my phone is under warrenty anymore,) and im guessing the usb connection on the phone is fixed onto a board.
is it worth me trying that or should i just take it to a repair shop ?
take a dry toothbrush, give the usb port a good scrub. dirt often builds up in the bottom of the port and stops the usb plug pushing deep enough to get a good contact.
Have a good inspect of the usb port, bright light and magnifier is good, see if you can see buildup, or a bent connector, or somesuch.
Also look at the usb plug on the cable, its uncommon but not unknown for the metal outer enclosure to open slightly, and make for a weak contact.
Sometimes a cable simply doesn't fit well for no obvious reason, , i have a generic cheap ebay cable that will only work when angled up or down, like yours, but looks perfectly fine, and feels to fit the socket, while the HTC cable works perfectly, so i know its not the port.
If it all looks good, then chances are you have a dodgy connection from the usb port to the mainboard, which will get worse every time you wiggle and bend the cable to get it to work. In this case, you COULD try a repair, but there have been reports on here of some repair shops pronouncing it too fiddly to replace teh usb port, and a new mainboard would be the only other option.
edit - just reread your post and seen that you can wiggle the port. Broken solder, gotta be. Its not an easy solder, so if your a dab hand, then go for it, if not, see above.
Hi iainbp, heresandyboy had this same trouble in http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=903977 from post 16.
It looks tricky!
Just a thought though, I recently bought a cheap phone charger with multiple interchangeable heads for different phones. The microUSB one became difficult to charge with and it took me a while to realise that the metal bit at the end had detached from its plastic casing, and when I plugged it into the phone it just got pushed back into the casing. (got my money back)
Possible with yours?

Swapped batteries back and worth now

Well swapped my OEM battery back in after I didnt like the replacement I got. Now i cant connect my nexus to my computer
is this possible, the usb port seems fine, no real wiggle. nor can I push it in a direction and make it work ( like if the USB port was broken off inside
Did you reconnect everything completely after reassembling it? Or possibly nicked a ribbon?
