I use supernote for my classes.
It doesn't convert you're writing into text format, I'm not sure if that what you meant by fast recognition or not, but it's the best note taking app I've used on Android (I've tried them all.)
And as of now there is no app that is able to translate hand writing into text that I know of, I've been waiting for it though. I know ios has it.

So i just got my note yesterday. Have not touched my transformer tablet since...lol. Thats a biggie considering i never put it down usually.
Anyway, i love the s pen amongst other things. I find myself using it quite a lot even just to navigate around and interacting with the general U.I.
I was wondering however...are there any other specific apps and games out there made for the s pen? I assume you guys would know. Any advice is welcome.
Thanks.

You have an app in the Drawer called S Choice. It will send you to Samsung Apps, but specifically to S-Pen apps. Hope I helped !

Idk I've been struggling to find uses for it. I've had my Note for 2 days now and I mostly like it. But the stylus just seems like an added bonus that isnt too integrated. The only thing I've been using it for is S Memo, which freezes up sometimes Any suggestions would be appreciated

I really like Zen Brush.
It behaves like a caligraphy brush.
It's in the S-choice suite.
I also find the S-pen very useful for inputting calendar items.
Press and hold on your start time and draw down to the end time and release.
It automatically enters these in a new item.
Saves lots of time and sh#ts all over simple multitouch for speed and ease of use.
Really people? No one mentions "Draw Something". The S-Pen is PERFECT for this kind of game, and my friends are pissed at me when we're playing since i have a freaking pen to draw with

I have to say I am on my second week with my note and still no legitimate use for the s-pen.. I even got draw something and it still just doesn't help all that much with that app. I also havnt been happy with how I've had to restart my note 3 times today for various reasons

Well after almost 2 weeks it seems my use of the s pen has gone down quite a bit. I only use it for specific games here and there.
Its a nice alternative and that's pretty much it I guess. I can't really draw well on paper let alone with the pen so that's a shame. But it is very responsive and accurate.

I actually use the s-pen quite a lot, especially at work to take notes. Very handy to have all my notes with me at all times and by tagging them and creating a folder structure it's easy to find them back.

+1 - the S Pen is great at work - i used to use a note pad all the times, but now i can take note on the, well, Note!
In my line of work i mark-up building drawings plans, where i used to carry around a A3 clipboard and paper copy of the plan. Not now, drawings to PDF and away i go on the phone! Very pleased. Once day i could even convice my boss to purchase a Note 10.1 for the very same reason....

I'm working on that. The fact that I am my own boss makes it somewhat more likely!
Does anyone know if pen/stylus input is supported on the Nexus 7? If not, is there any app that would allow this?

Pen input
I can confirm that the pen input works well on the N7 in fact it's the only Android tablet that comes any where near the iPad in this area.
At last I can use an Android tablet for quick notes! I have both the Bamboo and Samsung Stylus.
Regards
Bob
Excellent to hear.
Looking to buy an N7 soon, and this is something I'd like for both my GS2 and the N7. Typing my notes gets tedious and I'd also like to include drawings with my notes.
Good to hear it works

I think...palm rejection works with every app. when you put s-pen near screen( about 1-2cm). the screen will recognize only pen and wont do anything if you touch with your hand.
Thanks for the reply, but this is not the case with ezpdf and other pdf annotation apps. Palm rejection does work quite well with SNote though.

Like I said, palm rejection works everytime I put my s-pen near screen. ( every where, in every app)
If yours not working, then maybe something is wrong.
Sent from my GT-N8010 using xda app-developers app
It doesn't work for me, either. And it's not the case that it works in every app just because an app recognizes the s pen. For instance, Polaris Office recognizes the S pen but it doesn't have palm rejection.

I'm using ezPdf, it works like a charm. You must enable palm rejection in settings. To select the eraser, simply tap on the pen icon and then choose eraser from the list

I don't have the option in my settings. There's another thread on pdf editing apps which mentioned the same. Are you on an 8010 or 8013?

I don't have that option in the settings. Might be a version issue with ezPDF? I'm running 1.9.8.1. Looks like there's a newer version but I got mine on the Amazon app store and they haven't updated it.

Still no palm rejection option after updating to official 4.1.2 for n8013. I guess this is a Samsung issue, but unidocs never replied to my support emails.
Palm rejection worked wonderfully well for me in the stock rom for 8013 that came pre loaded.. Dont know why some people have issues...
I easily spent around 5-6 hrs daily on ezpdf annotating stuff and no issues..
The keything - pen has to be close to the screen for it to work..
I too just noticed this. Palm rejection was terrible for me using ezpdf. But when I flashed the N8000 firmware, I saw that setting and it worked wonderfully. But then I flashed the new N8013 JB update and the option is gone. Really peculiar. I'll have to see if I can write the dev and get a response.
Edit: My international Note 2 also does not have the setting. That's just so bizarre to me that the option round only show up in certain firmwares.

That's normal behavior for this technology. It disables touch when the pen is in proximity. But that's not palm rejection. Palm rejection is just that -- you rest your palm on the screen and it rejects any associated touch events, simulating the effect of writing on paper. And that's the issue many of us are having with ezpdf -- palm rejection not working as it should.

I think I have confused some of you here
Palm rejection works only when the stylus is close to the screen.
The option to disable palm fully is not found in the settings.( I have such a setting my galaxy note 5.3 inch ).
There is something in the apk that prevents this setting from showing up.
I am going to shoot the dev a mail today about this. But I know some of the others have already done this.
Just realized that there is a new update in playstore... I am going to try it out and report..
Hey guys, I was wondering if anyone could help me find the screen recording feature. I think it would be a great addition to my note taking. Specifically, I think it used to be called sketch record or something like that. I believe it used to function out of the S-note application. the little red button. Any help is much appreciated.

Also, I thought I'd add that when I first got the tablet this option was in S-note, however after that OAU (over-the-air-update) I cannot seem to find it for the life of me.

LectureNotes has an addon that allows you to record the screen in the app. I've never tried it, but it might be what you're looking for.

In S Note, when you're editing a note, try hitting the menu button and hit Record Sketching.
Oh wow, I feel stupid overlooking that. I looked everywhere but the right place. Personally I think it should be docked icon like the eraser and pen and such , like it was in the note 10.1. Thanks guys.

Does anyone know of a good app that works well with the S-Pen that is math oriented? I am trying to use my Note 10.1 2014 to take Multivariable Calculus notes. Right now I am using S-Note and going back and forth between my keyboard and drawing with the S-Pen but that isn't always the most convenient thing in the world, especially with 3D diagrams. I am using the Multivariable Wolfram Alpha app to compute stuff and draw things in the multi window to help but it could still work better.

It's a nice calculator, but the OP is looking for a note taking application.
I personally still use LectureNotes for my note taking, although I do wish it was vector driven.

I found some good high res pictures of notebook paper and set that as the background for my math notes, maybe you can find a background paper image with the right amount of line spacings that would help you.
Papyrus works well for note taking... It won't recognize Greek symbols but it does real well for notes. With a 10.1 inch screen you shouldnt have much issue with writing out the Greek letters.
