does it have problems with auto rotate? like big lags? 2-3 seconds lag like the rest of 3.2?
later edit:
YES IT DOES
I think this firmware is asian.

уер, but its not a lag. they want to avoid false rotate, I think )
I've got an 8.9 purchased in Saudi Arabia running Android 3.1 (build number HMJ37 P7300JPKI1), would it be a bad idea to try flashing this on it? I want to upgrade this device to 3.2
this one is the latest firmware available. it is 3.2 but it is asian version, it also has all european languages. no 3rd party apps or branding.
Putting it on my device using Odin works.
Interesting, the Saudi Arabia ROM had iOS-style bouncy scrolling while this one doesn't. Maybe Samsung does this differently in different locations to avoid trouble from Apple?
So far so good
Europan languages are included. Rom seems fastest from I tried...
i like this rom. but i hate the lag of auto rotation. it sucks....could this be at all 3.2 roms? i have tried 4 and all have it!
I thing rotation lag is a feature not the bug.
I have tried Motley's kernel on this ROM and performance droped significantly...

Hi Stimpoff, can you give more info about what you mean when you say "performance dropped significantly"? Maybe you meaning this as a good thing when it comes to rotation, but I am curious if you are having issues with the kernel on this ROM.
I agree, the rotation lag may not be a bug. It really doesn't bother me and I think it is better than overly sensitive premature rotation (sounds kinda funny!). One other thing I noted is that it lags the most on the home screen (maybe due to wallpaper reorientation with quality images), but in apps I have found that it doesn't lag nearly as bad. For example, go into settings and try rotation there. It is almost immediate for me. The browser and Polaris Office aren't too bad either.
If you are having bad performance with rotation, you could try to do a horizontal screen calibration in Settings\Screen\Horizontal calibration and see if it helps.
I dont't have problem with rotation lag.. is there and what?!
But I had worse overall performance with your last kernel (2b) in "switch" game it was nicely visible. Flash video as well.
There wasn't any problem with combination Overcome and your kernel, just this ROM.
I consider this ROM as the fastes I tried so far.
"Best" ROM for Galaxy Tab 8.9?
Sorry, not sure where to post this, will keep it short 'til I'm in the right place:
I just bought an 8.9 and am finding the stock Samsung ROM clunky. (Also this b.s. with Hulu Plus and my favorite live wallpaper not working....) I do like the stock ROM's pop-up access to Settings, but apart from that, it seems like Samsung and/or Honeycomb kinda missed the mark. I don't really want to take the time to put a custom ROM on it, but if there's one that will clearly make the device perform better and isn't full of stuff I don't need--the tab is mostly for work--I might do it. Can anyone recommend the "best" modded ROM for me? GT-P7310.
Thanks in advance,
Paul
Can someone make this rom as .zip file if it's possible, because I prefer flashing rom using CWM rather than using odin. Thanks
MUITO BOA
Até agora, essa foi a melhor e mais estável rom que já testei.
Recomendo.
how to install this thing??
download odin 1.85
you take this file, extract the .tar from the archive and start odin and put the file in PDA slot in odin.
power off ur tablet then press power+volume down until downloading+recovery appears. choose downloading(press volume down to choose) and when downloading is selected press volume up to enter download mode. connect ur tablet to the computer and press start in odin. wait untill "pass" appears.
download odin 1.85
Diconect the USB cable when apears "pass"

Hi,
I just bought a Samsung Galaxy S GT-i9000. I already rooted the phone but unfortunately all the cappy Samsung Apps are still there. Primarily, I wanted to get rid
of these (Aldiko eBook, AllShare, Layar, ... you name it). So I figure I have to flash a non-original ROM right? Now here's the question: Which ROM to use? I would like to see Android 2.2 on this phone and no Apps in ROM. I already checked --some link in this boad I may not post-- and found a link that leads to several ROMs. But I figure my firmware does not find a match there:
PDA: I9000XXJM1
PHONE: I9000XXJM1
CSC: I9000XAJM1
So which ROM can you recommend?

I recommend you stay the hell away from Froyo Betas as all they bring is problem and heartache! SERIOUSLY. Go ahead and install them but don't jump on here for quick fixes. I recommend you install JM8 and Tatyuma 1.1 Lite! here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=774950
The reason for lite edition is that its fast, and doesn't use the Voodoo lag fix as voodoo has a few battery draining problems. Once you have installed Tatyuma you can install Titanium Backup and set on chuck norris mode and uninstall more junk you don't want. just be hell careful. Also install OCLF 2.0 from market and install lag fix.
Hi,
thanks for you reply. Assuming I decide to stick with Android 2.1 - what would be a good choice and where do I get the ROM from?

I surely recommend the Tatyuma rom modification + JM8 rom over Froyo betas as well.
However, I also recommend the Voodoo lag fix. Not sure what it's really all about with the battery as I don't seem to experience any real diff in battery life (or it's too small for me to notice). I however do notice that it's so much faster than OCLF
In any case, any of the Tatyuma JM8 roms are the best i've used so far. For Flash websites, I use Skyfire.
Man, I came from 2.1 with Voodoo and have nothing but praise for JPK...
Hi,
okay so Tatyuma is is but where to get from? Tried googling without success...

Hi,
I am pushing this thread a little - sry. I still have a few unsolved questions:
1) What is "tatyuma"? According to google it does not exist - which is weird - because its google
2) My current firmware is PDA: I9000XXJM1, PHONE: I9000XXJM1, CSC: I9000XAJM1. To update to the JM8 firmware, do I really have to use Odin? I am 100% Linux user and Odin appears to be a Windows application
3) The MoDaCo ROM says I need the JG5 firmware. I figure this JG5 firmware is older that my JM1, so do I have to downgrade my firmware for this ROM to use?
Hope you can help!

Hi all.
I have been waiting for the official Froyo update for G3 since last year August. I haven't tinkered with my phone at all and it is the stock 2.1 FW available by default in India (DDJG5).
However since the DDJP2 has been released, i have read forums with people having endless issues with this build. (Which is really disappointing from Samsung considering they made us wait so long).
So I have finally decided to flash froyo as i don't think Samsung will bother to provide a fix for the JP2.
And i wanted to know which stock ROM is the best, with least number of issues - JP2, JPF or JPM??
Also will i have any issues with network connectivity if i am flashing a ROM from a country other than India?
It would be great if we could also have a comparison of the custom ROMs available. (From what i have read so far Kyrillos seems the best IMO, but i am not too confident with flashing and partitioning as i have never done it before)
Well, you can only try for yourself. One thing is certain though, you can forget JPF. It's old and outdated.
I haven't tried JP2, but JPM in my opinion is the best froyo rom out there. Haven't had a single problem with it, and battery lasts very long. All major custom ROMs are based on JPM, too.

Thanks for the input.
I see you are using Kyrillos 4.1. Can i flash it over JPM if i consider a change later? Or do i have to flash JPF first and then Kyrillos? Also is it required to partition the sdcard for Kyrillos or can i just flash it and it will work fine?
yes you can flash it, and no, I don't think it's necessary to partition your sdcard
Thanks again. And one more question. I have seen a few versions of JPM floating around. Some with bootloaders, some without them, some say it is onepackage, etc etc. I don't really understand fully what they all mean by that, so could anyone point me to the latest JPM build, (with the least possibility of getting my phone bricked).
If it reads JPM then It's the latest build, always. There might be different ways to flash them (it can be a one package or in parts, as you said). So yeah doesn't matter, but if your JPM comes in parts, don't flash the bootloader. The only way to brick your phone during flashing is if you're flashing the bootloader and then lose USB connection for a reason or another.
As for partitioning sdcard.. I think you need to do it in Kyrillos. At least I did, as it showed me 0kb as internal memory. Kyrillos (and\or his thread?) can confirm this.
Oh and I cannot remember what ROM I flashed before flashing kyrillos, but I've seen the man himself suggesting people to flash JPF first if anything goes wrong or the phone doesn't boot. And I this was what I had to do to get Kyrillos' ROM to boot
I was using stock eclair 2.1 DDJG6 in India while other was flashing custom rom all around. I had a facination with live wallpapers so i rooted my phone and used it. Then i got offcial update directly from kies. Probably the first one in India. After checking it out i figured several bugs such as the youtube, camera, music player, stock browser. So i was wondering to take a risk and flash my phone confused betwwen JPM Stock and Krillos 4.1. Then i plucked up the courage an then flashed it with non overclocked version without partitioning my card directly from DDJP2 to krillos 4.1. Its pretty good atleast better than so called OFFICIAL FROYO DDJP2 we were all eagerly waiting for. **** YOU SAMSUNG.
Just saw on Samfirmware.com:
Europe releases XWJPE(March 30) and XWJPF(April 5) are they improvements on the XXJPM (Feb)...
It would be great to have all the issues and advantages of the latest FW in a tabulated format won't it? Would sure help a lot of people in deciding.
@ayan - How is the Kyrillos working out for you?, facing any issues in usage? Just flashed it using Odin with the tar file and the ops file?
I haven't tested these new roms out, but they most likely wouldn't release 'em if there was no improvements.
Oh and XXJPF is the outdated one I was talking about, this ROM is XWJPF, which as you said, is newer then JPM.
thanks
thanks Nice idea !!! ^^

Yes i just thought its better to do that way. And as off now Kyrillos is good. But the camera bug is still there. I dont know. I am thinking to trying the new firmware XWJPF . Lets c how it works.
I just flashed JPM build from samfirmware.com and it is root by default. Some issues i am having:
1. GO Launcher Ex keeps restarting 90% of the time i hit the home button.
2. Not able to log into facebook and twitter account sync, however facebook and twitter individual apps are working.
3. The sizes of most apps in the App Management list is shown to be below or around 1mb.
4. GPS signal not locking on.
If anyone else is also having these issues or can remedy them please tell me.

Problems 1,2,4 resolved after a few restarts. No. 3 still persists (although one can easily live without a fix for this ).
Really love the JPM rom... No real issues as of yet ...
I also have that app size thing and think it as a bug that I can live with.. it also exists in other ROMs. My theory is that the system has moved it to external storage and for some reason reading it as if it was installed on internal storage, and reads that it takes 0mb of phone's memory. I could be wrong, though.
Hope that wasn't too messy explanation
One bug i noticed just now ... Wifi takes too long to switch on and most of the times gives error. Only switches on after 3-4 continuous tries. Is anyone else experiencing the same??
This also makes me ask a question, can my G3 work on a wifi created by my laptop? if so, then how? Because i have an internet connection through a lan cable, and would like to utilise it on the phone to save up on the 3G data charges.
I like JPM IT is stable
Hey,
I have a question about Screen Mirroring between my Samsung S4 I9505 and my TV.
I try to explain as good as my english let me do this =)
....I´m using Omega Roms Since Release v6 on my Phone, everything works fine when I fresh flashed any of this Versions...
Sometimes with Wififix, in v8 I dont had to flash modems manually, all funktions working fine from begin =)...Big thx to Omega developers at this position!!!
BUT....
In each Versions, after flashing Omega Rom...when I flash a Theme via TWRP...for ex. Alexander Theme, then Screen Mirroring doesn´t work....
The Phone find my TV, try´s to Mirror...than there comes a lettering in grey which say´s "Bildschirmspiegelung wurde deaktiviert"
I had tried some things to fix this, for ex. flash the Wifi/LTE modems much more as 4,5 times...so like i had to do when wifi isnt working....
I can try what I will....all functions by the Phone works fine, But not the constallisation OmegaRom - Theme - Screen Mirror....
I had become a friend of the Stock theme...but maybe there is a simple way to fix probs like that?!?!
I will be Happy for each answers!
sooo long......have a nice day @all
Probabely too late...
Maybe you can use Triangle Away app to put the flash counter at 0. I've alredy do that on my note 2 and it worked perfectly.
Samsung AllShare accessories check your flash counter to know if your device is rooted and dosen't works ...
I hope my explain in bad english can help you or anybody else

Hi there,
I have some serious problems here. I used a Galaxy S2 for two years now and since "day one" I got my phones rooted and flashed custom roms. You could say I am some kind of a flashoholic - need to have the best, newest, fastest all the time. For one month now I have got a new Galaxy S4. Sounded like a good decision as I'm using it most of the time for internet and taking photos.
But till today, I am unsatisfied. My Galaxy S2 went from "Checkrom Revolution" to "Omega" and then all the updates from "Cyanogen 9" to 10.1-RC3 (not sure if the versions are correct, just call it the latest 4.2.2 version). For a month now I'm flashing myself through the whole forum, but none of the roms seem to work as flawless as my Cyanogen was on my S2. Some problmes I discovered (I wont mention which problem occured on which ROM as I simply can't remember):
- unstable WLAN
- bad signal for 3G/H+/4G
- bad signal for phone (S2 had 3 of 4 bars while the S4 only gets 1 to 2 of 4 bars at my home)
- bad battery lifetime (for example: newly flashed "Phoenix Rom" gave me 2 or 3 full days of standby (WLAN on all the time), while "Echoe Rom v9" seems to drain it like hell (loosing 30% within 3 hours ?!?)
- crashing initialization setup (at the beginning, where you setup WiFi, Google and device name and stuff)
- no Samsung Cam (well, its not a bug, but I love the features like slow-motion videos and the image burst mode to select the best one afterwards. So when I realized that only TW roms have the samsung cam, I only tried those roms)
- Samsung Cam freezes in 9 of 10 cases when I try to catch a slow-motion video.
- and my newest addition: flashed a new rom yesterday, flashed the newest modem with odin afterwards (I9505XXUEMK9), then flashed the WiFi-Fixed-Version, and since then, I have no sound at all. All volume levels are maxed but I get no single beep from it
I'm sick of it. I just want a modem which gives best signal quality and a ROM with a flawless working Samsung Cam. Do you have any ideas?
Going to flash some rooted stock-rom with an older modem now and try to get my sound back...
Modem is dependable from your location. You hava to test it out.
My favourite Roms for battery life and everything working fine are:
Echoerom newest Builds
Google Edition 4.2.2 and 4.3 by Jamal.
I also testes lots of Roms, but many got lags or other problems which i didn't have in the Roms i told you
Gesendet von meinem GT-I9505G mit Tapatalk
OmegaRom is awesome! Wlan/Hsdpa/et cetera all working perfect, plus the integrated xposed installer app makes it really comfortable. plus, my antutu benchmarks compared to stock mh5 rom went up by 2000 points

I was in the same boat as you, but I really couldn't take the stock TW lag anymore. So I decided to root and flash a custom rom knowing the it would set 0x1..besides, there probably isn't going to be a fix for knox anytime soon.
A difficult decision.

Flash back to original rom - Maybe you can try Xposed framework and do all the custom stuff you get on other roms. -
You should try all roms , but my experience each rom has one strong point and one weak point.

After I found out that this knox 0x1 is just doing the same thing as Sonys "go to this page to get a code to unlock the bootloader" - by which I mean, it tells the developer that you played with their software; and what I have done on several phones by now - I come to the conclusion, that knox 0x1 won't really bother me.
You are so right. This default rom is really... well... bad. It feels slow and I miss my root Well, loading some roms now.
As the cam is most important for me (and for the roms I tested it works best / most stable on Samsung Stock), I will flash one rom after another, try the slow-mo-cam, and if it won't work, I flash the next one.
Hello,
I can buy Axon7 on Aliexpress for around 330USD. Currently I'm using OPO and it is running just fine. I've got a few questions to you guys:
1. Are custom ROMs stable ( no bugs, battery drains, camera and sound is working like on stock )?
2. How far is Stock ROM from AOSP (recents, QS, settings) ?
3. Would you switch if you had OPO ?
4. Are there any news of update to Android O being planned ?
Thanks for the replies!
If you want front facing speakers, yes. If you like the huge amount of roms available for bacon, stay with that. I was on the opo and if it was not for the speakers on the a7 I would switch back.
There are still enough roms available, just not like for op5. Roms are stable

Most ROMs are somewhat stable, but all of them have a couple of bugs like mic broken until you turn on and off the loudspeaker (you can fix that with macrodroid). And the stock ROM works better than the custom ROMs no doubt. But I found out that (if you care more about MP3 music than FLAC lossless) V4A is better on custom ROMs than stock. and you can get more than 7 hours SOT on custom ROMs if done right (normally people get 5 on the stock ROM)
The stock ROM is totally different than AOSP. The stock launcher has no dock just like Apple stuff but it also comes with an alternative with dock. The icons are crappy though. If you install Lawnchair from XDA you get a launcher better than Pixel and stock icons for almost all of the apps. Recents is just like AOSP but with a Clear all button and a lock to avoid you closing the app by swiping or via the button. pretty handy!
Now, I had something weird happen to me: When I got my Moto G 2 I used the stock ROM for like 3 days and switched to customs. I never even thought about going back to stock for all the poor phone's life (like 1.5 years). now with this one, I try a couple of ROMs for a month or two, get bored and return to stock. Always happens. Many people say the same, that they started liking the stock ROM even though it strays from AOSP a lot. But it has its fair share of good things, like auto power-on some minutes before your alarm goes off, scheduled on and off, a Dolby Atmos QS tile... It's not bad because it doesn't look like AOSP. not at all.
Besides, MiFavor 5.0 was released for the Chinese and it looks very good!
The phone has hardware keys but the Chinese version hasn't, hence the on screen keys on the screenshot.
Update to O: No news yet, though if it comes, expect the first 2 or 3 builds to be riddled with bugs. ZTE's devs barely know how to use a keyboard. Up to B04 Nougat they broke the Play store then fixed it, broke exFAT for SD cards, then fixed it... People made petitions (basically spamming "We want Android O" on a petition thread on the German forums) but nobody said anything close to a confirmation.
Would I switch from a OnePlus One? 2K AMOLED screen, SD820, speakers better than Samsung's $800 phones come with, QC3.0, for 330 dollars? definitely
The screenshots I attached are from the Chinese MiFavor 5.0 because that's what I'm using right now. You can install it via TWRP if you want.
one thing though: If you can get an A2017U (US version) instead of an A2017 (Chinese Aliexpress version) you're gonna thank me. The U version has so much more development than the G or Chinese... Even people say that sound is better on it. It costs 330 dollars on the US too.
This phone is easy to brick, be REALLY careful and read everything twice before doing stuff or you can end up with a DFU brick which is the most hardcore brick of them all.

2K AMOLED screen, SD820, speakers better than Samsung's $800 phones come with, QC3.0, for 330 dollars? definitely

Wow, that's why I love XDA, thank you for this very helpful reply !
So on official LOS for example microphone during call doesn't work until I toggle loudspeaker ? That's is... Weird . So even if you are running custom ROMs you are coming back to stock because of bugs and features :/
I noticed on videos that launcher and icons sucks. Can I just install nova launcher on stock and use it without any problem ?
About Chinese and American versions. The ROMs doesn't work on all version, the a2017, U and G ? I did some reading and I know there are different bootstacks and stuff but I though the custom ROMs are compatible with all regions.
Is this brick recoverable ? Is there a flashtool that will always rescue me ?
Thanks again !
Yes you can flash nova launcher. It is an app! There is a flashtool for flashing and recovering from soft/hard bricks. The phone just rocks...

It's more complicated than that.
First of all: The modes on this phone are (were):
-EDL (Looks like it's completely off, it's not. You can flash special folder packages with MiFlash when you are in this mode)
-Bootloader mode (Fastboot. On A2017G and U they got rid of it. You can get it back by flashing a zip through TWRP, but if you update the stock ROM officially you'll lose it and will have to flash it again)
-Recovery. You can use axon7toolkit to unlock and install this. One-click tool like the one on Nexus 6 thread.
After you flash the Universal bootloader (for custom ROMs), your TWRP will get overwritten with an older one. Just keep a 3.1.1-0 img file and flash it in this crappy TWRP with Install -> Install image
-FTM. Seems that you get ADB when you are in this mode. Handy when you brick it horribly (no recovery) and can't access EDL. You just issue adb reboot edl and you should get to edl.
And last: DFU mode. Be REALLY careful with EVERYTHING, for example if you flash a system zip and TWRP says that you have no system installed, restore a backup, DON'T reboot! I had a DFU brick once and the two ways to recover from a DFU brick (No EDL, no fastboot, no recovery, very rarely FTM) are to discharge the phone completely and try to get into FTM, or take the phone apart and do the 4th category brick repair manual. I did the latter
But as of now no brick is unrecoverable. With A2017G's and U's you get a pretty overkill warranty, and you can return it claiming that it stopped working all of a sudden for example.
About the launcher: yeah, you can install whatever you like. I use Lawnchair.
And the ROM's work on all 3 phones, but it's the kernels that don't. Kernels work on the G and U on custom ROMs, but there is only one kernel that works for the U on stock, and none for the G. On the G the camera breaks on stock when you use a custom kernel. That's why I recommend you to get a U even if it's a little bit more expensive.
Is there a tool that will always save you from a brick? well there are many, but they will help you like 90% of the time. axon7tool is used to flash stuff to recovery or boot from EDL (you can flash TWRP for ex.), axon7toolkit can do some basic fastboot stuff, and MiFlash is the most useful, cause you can flash a full system directly from EDL and leave your phone in a functional state. So if, say, your digitizer breaks and you are on a custom ROM (and have an A2017G or A2017U, which have warranty) you can simply flash a working system and send it to fix.
If ZTE finds out that the phone has been tampered with (unlocked, opened, etc) they will charge you $80 but they'll fix it. If the phone doesn't even boot and it's a G they'll change it free of charge because of European laws
one more thing: you'll hate the quick settings thingy on stock. Try MiFavor 5.0 if you decide to stay stock, it's a Chinese ROM but with a bunch of work it can get pretty nice. I sent you a couple of screenies there

If you want front facing speakers, yes. If you like the huge amount of roms available for bacon, stay with that. I was on the opo and if it was not for the speakers on the a7 I would switch back.

I would go for it because the newer LTE modems are so much better than any of the SD820 especially how poor both the Axon 7 and OP3 signals are compared to the SD821 and SD835. It is night and day in terms of connectivity. Performance wise it's also worth it.
You don't need to flash Nova launcher, I am with the Stock rom and use Nova as it. Just install it and use it as default launcher.
