[Q] 1.0.1 rooted to 1.3 rooted - Nook Color Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

What's the best way to move from 1.0.1 rooted to 1.3 rooted? I had to reload from a really old backup, and now that's where I'm at. Just curious what the most efficient method to get back to 1.3 rooted would be.
Thanks!
Az

Titanium backup your current apps. Update to 1.3. Root again. Download titanium and then restore your apps.

if you have root, is root explorer 2.12.3 working correctly in system yet?

I see that they have a new release today that says something about a galaxy s fix. If anyone has root, could you see if it's working correctly? I've put my epic back to complete stock since last night because of reboot/boot loop/refuse shutdowns and general flakiness. I was running one click 2.2.4 root with clockworkmod kernel for cwm recovery. I appreciate it.
Yes it is.

Ok, thank you

Market 2.12

My market seemed to be acting a little strange today, so I went into the app manager and checked into clearing data/cache and so on and noticed my version is now 2.12 rather than 1.82. I know there was an update for the N1 today - but it seems I have a newer market as well now. Does anyone else have this as well?

Question: Are either one of you rooted? Mine is still the old version and I'm perm-rooted with BaconBit 0.3. Waiting for stable Cyanogen.

Stock, 2.12, no issues that I can see. What issues were you having?
Perm root, clockwork recovery, no bacon, 2.12 market (working fine)
Checked today and I am now on 2.12. Got upgraded some time in the last day. Looks like it's still rolling out.

2.2?

Hi guys. I am in the process of flashing a ROM for my wife's D2. From all of my reading on here, it seems she should be on 2.3. However her system is still 2.2. Am I misinformed? I've hit the system update on her phone, but it says her phone is up to date. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

2.2 = Android verion
2.3.2 = Verizon update
I'm in the same situation, I'm on android 2.2 and system update says no update available. ..

You can be rooted and still receive an update, correct? I know you would lose root privledges, but I am trying to remember if I had to unroot or not.
I'm not able to get the update either (which is basically all I should be writing in this post), but I'm going to just attribute that to my flashing the tbh all in one back to froyo.

I think you need to be unrooted and have all stock apps.
So what's the update really I mean,i have android 2.2 and I think the gb is not released officially am I wrong?i have ee4

Android 2.3.3 aka Gingerbread is now available to all via OTA.
Since when, cuz a few days ago I was stock on ee4 now I'm on gumny and never saw any update msssage

I'm rooted, and the update downloaded by itself. Of course, the only way I'm gonna install it is when a version of cm7 GB is out that has amazing battery life.

Which that wouldn't even work bc its not rootable.

The CM7 has a version for the OTA GB. I've been running it since I ran the OTA.

Root using D3 method, then install the latest CM7 Nightly. I'm running it right now, overclocked to 1.3ghz. This phone is stupid fast and the battery life is killer.

Effects of modifying pre-installed busybox?

Can anyone go into detail about this? I just wanted to confirm if its going to affect the device if we downgrade the busybox to 1.18.2. Running nightly 197 oc @ 1.2ghz

You can downgrade without problem. Just use busybox installer from the market.

I recommend the one by JRummy... it provides more options as to available version and a check box to create symlinks... and it works
