Hi,
Is is acutally an update from dell for the 00 devices? I check not long ago and was prompted with an update but thought maybe it was the one from O2 as I have an O2 sim (but with a handset direct from dell of course).
I think it for the 00 unlocked model because that what there is in the url on the top.
I am using an unlocked device direct from dell on tmobile in uk and it yes me to update am now downloading will know shortly
Download file name is streak_111_6267_00.pkg

I have a beta us dell streak and my current build is 3562 and version 1.6. the update was available and after upgrading my version is still 1.6 too.
What was the name for you?
I was prompted for - streak_111_6267_00.pkg, which is what is in progress just now.
My update name was : streak_101_3562_00.pkg
Mine completed and now build shows 6267 !

I have an unlocked US version, and I keep getting a notification that says "software update available" When I click on it, the screen says "your device is up to date". What's going on here?
Could it be that it's been rooted? I've read that the updates are pre-rooted....but then again, I thought this was going to be 2.1 I read that a lot of people who rooted their phones experience flashing buttons.

Hey does anyone know how u can find out what kinda of streak u have. I got my dell streak from ebay and I don't know if it was an at&t or O2 or rogers. If there a way to find out?

all of those are locked to their respective companies. so, for example, an ATT streak will only work with ATT sim cards, and so on.. if you want more informations, look in settings/phone info for the baseband version.
When I got mine it was unlocked and the baseband is GAUSB1A131921-US. Any ideas?

The reason I ask is when u boot the phone up it comes I up with the O2 logo and on the baseband it says US. Soon I assume that the person who owned it before me bought it unlocked in the US and install the O2 software on it since 2.2 it was available at that point and the US version wasn't. I don't even know if that's possible. And if it is, how do I if something has been done to void the warranty.
Sorry I guess should have started with this bit... I am a noob with android.

What's version of the streak do u have?

Hey is there a way to find out what version of the streak I had?
I bought my second hand and already had 2.2 on it and it was unlocked. When I turn it on it has an O2 logo but when I go the dell website it says its a US phone.
The baseband is 319 US

Got it off ebay and now that I left the person a good feedback already he wont respond. I will check the service tag later cuz if I take of the battery cover phone will turn off.

Service tag is found also in Settings, about and it should be listed there along info such as imei number etc.

why not just go to settings/about phone/status and second from bottom will be your service tag.

how badly did o2 screw me over.
i m now paying monthly for a phone that I didnt want to buy in the first place.
what are my options?

My phone kept rebooting.
Wot steps did u try, to resolve the reboot problem, such as flashing new roms or using seus/pc companion to repair if u was on stock. if u tried all these and it didnt work then mayb it is a hardware fault and u was right to send it off, but if u didnt u should tried some of the steps but oh well lol. mines jus been sent off cos of faulty usb port

I did everything I could and obviously since even they were not able to find a solution, replacement was needed.
just bid sad that I lost x10

They have no right to do so! they should be replaced with the same or get a refund. Call Support

I will go to o2 on Tuesday and ask about it, i seriously dont see how it could be right, since I AM paying for different phone.
I remember how the dude in the store wanted to sell me galaxy s but I specificity got x10.
Hi, in o2's small print it does say they will replace with refurbished or similar spec handset if original is not available.
