I wrote a mail about software update for the S7 Slim from Huawei and I received the following answer:
Dear Customer,
Thank you for contacting Huawei device.
Sorry about that the Android 2.2 is the latest version to the S7-201U. so you cannot upgrade to the Android 2.3 to your S7-201U.

This is absolutely outrageous! I bought my Huawei Slim S7 tablet only two years ago. And are they saying it is no longer supported? Every other app I want to install requires a higher version. So can I throw it into the sink and buy another one? What swindlers they are!
One thing is certain. My new gear will be anything but a Huawei! They have let me down so much that I swear I am never going to by any Huewei sh-i-t again.

I used the Droid Pro (Motorola's original version of the XPRT) in China with no problems whatsoever. It worked great. So while I can't verify that the XPRT itself does work directly, it definitely should.

It doesn't mean that it can't, it just means that there isn't a 2.3 update right now. Most seem to think that a 2.3 update will come eventually (there is one coming for the Droid Pro...and there is an early version for the Pro out there). As for Android 4.0 (or whatever they call Ice Cream Sandwich), that remains to be seen. Honestly, I wouldn't count on it, but hopefully they'll surprise everyone with the update.

Not possible, but there's already official ics in modaco.com, I've just installed it today on my brother's phone... man, it's a nice phone and the ROM is stunningly fast and smooth... I must say, I'm jealous! And they are already working on jb for the ascend, there's already an early version...

i got the phone dead now. and installed ics forced update, but failed.
on modace they suggest an alternative update in case of failing. but dont have it.

Quite satisfied with the latest Gratitude ROM though.

That would be great, but first we need a rom base for any rom....
After my exams in february I would like to try porting Lineage OS to our huawei nova...but thats not a promise, it's an "Let's try and hope.."
Too bad there was not activity on this phone yet.
I really really hoped this gonna replace my Nexus 5 ( the >5 inch / 70cm width trend sucks - phones are just too big!) - but nooope..
I had it already in the hands, good that I didn't bought it. But I maybe would if someone would work on it :laugh:

I'm a flash aholic... But for now i can wait, this phone impressed in so many ways till now, no need to hurry.
For this time there is the incredible screen on time and with su and xposed i have all i need for now. I will just sit and wait [emoji12]

Did they release those for previous phones too?
I figured since this is a snapdragon device the chance for roms will be much higher. Since they don't really release anything for their own chipsets iirc.

I think they released the kernel for many phones in the past..but you can also extract it from the stock firmware..so that shouldn't be a problem to build lineage for this device, but it takes time.. ?
