I am giving away my wp7 activation key as i sold my hd2 , i don't require it anymore because my next htc will be Android. I used it twice on my hd2 with two different roms for the same id. So, if anyone require, ask me.

but i had read somewhere that the same activation key can be used in three different handsets..... can someone clarify the statement???

As stated above by "dxdy" key is not gona work, if its so then throw it out as simple it is

well, you're not right xDDD
i have found a live chat somewhere in microsoft website. and i asked for an activation key in that chat... i gave them my fake name and fake phone number (it was real but it's for another SIM card).. and it WORKED!!!
well, that ROM was disgusting, it crashed after few days xDD but the point is, you can use the key with any SIM card
first off, it's way to damn easy to get an activation code, just call the support tell them u got "X" windows phone and it asks for a activation code, then they will ask for your email and name, then they send it on your email , i told them i got a HTC Radar, and when i got the code i thought to my self well that was just to damn easy
i even heard of some guy who told the truth to the support: that he got an HD2 etc. well just get your own keys it's so easy

No, by chat i don't give my phone number, nor my imei, and they give me my identification, and it's available for all my wp7 phone, even if i change my phone !!

i WAS SO HAPPY WITH LIVE SERVICES ON MY HTC HD 2 , i got it after so long . I wanted to get my card available for wp7 but in the process to that i formated the card . You have to hard-reset WP7 for your old Activation code to work .

I was in the same situation as you are now. Set up Wp7 with 2gb sdcard, activated windows live, realized that 2gb are too low, installed again with 16gb card one day later. Activationcode didnt work then :O
But it worked after I unlocked my hd2 with chevron and this HOWTO: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=912218
So go for it and unlock it first that it will be reconized as HD7 and try again.
P.S.: I saw a thread somewhere in the wp7-hd2 section where a guy posted some activation codes.

If you already have your activation code then you don't need another.
Just re-flash WP7, re-unlock (also reg hack as HD7) then add live account and use same code.
If it doesnt work you are not entering code correctly.
If not re-phone support and get code again and explain your previous isn't working or get a new code for new live account.

Where did you store the code number? Or did they not email it to you? Call back the MS support that issued your code number, as when you gave them your details. Thats what they use to give you your own code number back.
You can only use your code 3 times. Then its back to them with your detials, to get a new number.

If you feel you need a new code then get one, it's very easy.
Go to Microsoft helpdesk website (Google it). Click get support, click general help (I clicked the windows 7) then chat, then simply state that you are setting up your windows phone 7 and it's asking for an activation code, they wanted a name and who made my phone (HTC) then gave me the code. Even said if there was a problem to chat back for another one hope this helps

All you have to do is tell them you just got a new windows phone (don't say HD7 yet) and need an activation code for access to marketplace, games, etc. And they going to need your information. Give them your real information, and when they ask what device is it, tell them you have HTC HD7. And you know the rest. This is my second time (Feb. 20, 2011) I called them when I lost my first activation code.

People have had luck getting a code via e-mail, but I don't see what the big deal with calling is.

Just follow the numerous threads about how to get a code.
I always use the chat option. It took me last week 5 minutes to obtain a code.
Just behave as someone who is troubled by a strange question on the screen of your phone: a kind of activation code is asked??? I can't find this in the manual???
You'll see, you'll receive your code almost instantly.

MICROSOFT support even suggests to get a new activation code when this happens, so it shouldnt be a big deal.
I'm trying to get an activation code, and either I'm losing my mind entirely or Microsoft's UK website keeps re-directing me away from their contact details. Each time I get to the relevant page it part loads, then goes to a page recommending I contact the manufacturer or carrier about any problems.
Can anyone list phone / e-mail details for how to contact Microsoft UK to request an activation code?

That code was only good for so long as it was used by one user. By sharing it, it was rendered invalid.
You have to get your own code via chat. It's easy to do.
can someone give here a link to the chat page to ask for activation code?
or maybe the phone we should call?

keep calling and trying. it was also this easy for me. no questions asked. make sure you say it's an HD7. NOT HD2.
After numerous attempts to get an activation code, i have given up! However, i would really like to try out windows phone 7.
So my question is....will i still be able to use windows phone 7 daily with the code. Will i still be able to install applications, games, ect without the code.
I know lots of people ask this question, but if anyone could get me an activation code, that would be greatly appreciated

I tried that mate and got nowhere. Every time i tried after the first tiime, they knew who i was and my location and told me that they already said they cannot give me a code and i have to ring the customer service line

you must ask for HTC HD7 and only name and phone number is required and maybe your mail (live account)

haha, whilst some folk have claimed to have success in getting a code by telling MS the truth, Most of us just lied through our teeth
i thought right thing was to tell the truth please does anyone can help me to get one?
Lol, that's how to do it my friend, if you ask anyone else todo it your asking them to lie for you, hd2 with wp7 isn't exactly supported

Simplest way is to use their chat servers and behave asif you have no idea what is happening.. Tell them sm1 gifted u ur phone and now it is asking for activation code and when they ask tell them it is htc hd7. just give ur name and phone number (thats just for registering you) its easy find the link and do the chat thts how i got my code....EASY PEASY

just do what i say: call Microsoft Serbia (also you can call Microsoft Croatia) and only what need is to say you purchased HTC HD7 from eBay and after update via Zune and hard reset phone asking for Live activation code... you dont need give IMEI... just give your real phone number and you must get activation code... dont worry MS not checking where you live or others...
I didn't come across that information when I ran a search on this but until this past week I had been away from XDA after I stopped flashing my Rhodium with the EnergyROMs. I appreciate the heads up..thanks a bunch!

I got the code fair and square. I asked the support person if it was possible to get a WP7 serial for HD2. No US phone number was needed (I gave him my Finnish number). It was really easy and there was no need to tell a lie about the phone model either. Honesty is the best policy.... :fingers-crossed:
