Install the stock kernel and you will unroot. Custom binary count will still be displayed in download mode and you need to use a USB jig to remove it you need to.

I have a question here. Which one is stock kernel? The Samsung signed one which is included in the stock/default firmware, right? Now it's also been said that to remove the Yellow triangle from boot up it's also needed to flash the stock kernel or a Samsung signed one. So what am I getting wrong here? What's the difference between a Stock kernel and the kernel which is needed to remove the Yellow triangle?
Regards.
Flash full Stock Samsung firmware removes root .
Flash Samsung stock kernel or use recovery jig to remove yellow warning triangle.

Alright. So Post No. 2 makes no sense.
Regards.
Either or both flash a kernel if you still have root flash full firmware .
My method is to simply flash full original branded provider firmware if contemplating a return for any reason.

[Q] Correct me if I am wrong (rooting and installing ROM)

Hello,
I'm new to this forum and to Android OS in general. I bought Ideos X5 last month and I would like to root it and install the new ROM on it. So this is my understandig of the way I can do this.
First I have to root the phone with Super Boot (program used in one of the tutorials) and raplacing the boot.img with the (boot.u8800-modaco-superboot-r1) - found on modaco forum.
Then I have to put on the ClockworkMod by replacing recovery.img.
I backup* the phone in ClockworkMod and wipe all the data. And the last In the CM I choose the zip of my ROM.
So... I hope i get it. I have few more questions. If I use *backup* in CM it will return my phone to the ROM it was when the backup was done.
Is is neccesary to update firmware and why is good to do so?
Which is the best ROM to use?
Thank you!
You don't need to root.
Just put clockwork in and backup and install new ROM.

Exactly. Use PerfectBoot from here.
So this is the first thing to do, no rooting necessary. I suggest you try out Oxygen, and Miui (they both come prerooted). Why? They are based on Android 2.3.5, which has a much better battery life than the Huawei-ROMs and is much faster at the same time.
Is there any risk to brick my phone?
As long as you have CWM installed.. whatever happens you can always restore the files.. bricking it.. would be very hard.

First of all keep calm.
You will need to use odin to get your phone working back.
See for docky 73's thread in dev section (sticky one). Download your regions firmware and flash with odin. You will get everything there. For how to flash with odin read second post in that thread carefully or read in deadly's guide in general section (it is also sticky)

You can any of those listed for your country/region.
Anything from outside should cause problems like data network not working etc.
You will need to flash csc of your region from odin again to fix that.

you can always just flash the stock rom again with odin as long as you can get into download mode but you loose your data.
are you on 4.4.2 kitkat ? because if so, you need a new version of twrp (or use cwm). there is an unoffical version that supports kk and also the original twrp will get an update soon. theres currently a test build, look at the official thread.
dont use it if you are still on 4.3 !
I really really wish people would search and read before messing with their devices... this is the 800th thread on this again.
Take your battery out, and wait for 60seconds, put back in and try to boot into recovery mode, wipe cache and boot up - OR reflash Stock again.
PS: If you have a Hong Kong Note, you need to go off and read... cause you've made a massive mistake playing.
