New Layout X10i 2.3 - XPERIA X10 General

Hello,

Want a new layout for my andorud 2.3. Any idèa?

Get an MIUI Rom, they're really different.

Or just some different launchers, there are loads out there that change the UI.
I personally like spb3d, but have a play with others

try launchers or custom roms
CheersS!
Milton --> From X10i on ROM : "ThGo2 v10. 0_RC4"

If you want a completely different UI, you can try the MIUI ROM.

Thnx for replaying guys! I'll see which one i like.

MIUI

Is it possible to port it to X8?
Yes it is and I doubt would be too dificult.
u can use adw launcher on 2.2.1 rom
Using ADW with MIUI themes.
That just a theme. MIUI is a customize Android like CM. To get MIUI need very telented programer/coder. Big X10 has MIUI ROM.

I'd read somewhere that MIUI ROM is build for HDPI devices like X10. To port it to MDPI device like x8, it would take a lot of work.
It is said that someone has done that ..keep on searchinig.
There is a thread about the subject in the development section.

[Q] android noob

Having taken the plunge for my first android phone namely the SE X10 on a standard rom and already rooted it, I'm just wondering if any of you would like to give me some tips on what to do next with this phone having being a wm 6.1 user for many years I'm at a bit of a loss with this one I've never used linux or any of the derivatives of that software which I'm lead to believe android is based, so pretty much clueless with this one kind regards Mcpaddy.
Sorry forgot to mention it has android 2.1 update 1 installed on it and its the X10I regards Mcpaddy.

Basically you need to decide whether you want to go with a totally custom ROM, or modify the SE 2.1 ROM.
If you go total custom there are some guides to do it as telmoabff linked above.
I chose to just mod the 2.1 SE ROM and there are many different options you can go with, also many guides which will help you out.
You can get some very good customization / performance out of the 2.1 SE ROM...however, to get the absolute best performance / totally custom you will have to go with one of the user developed ROMs.
(Since I am kind-of new to this as well someone please correct me if I am wrong.)
I would root, install xrecovery and then z's freex10 b4 froyo rom as its the simplest and most stable rom i have tried. Once you have it running good then make a backup and try out any of the roms that float your boat, you can always just restore back to z's rom if things go wrong. Very hard to break the x10 have put mine in bootloop bout 6 times trying out the cool stuff on here but always been able to fix it!
Just my opinion tho

FreeX10 is the base for which all of the X10 Froyo ROMs are built, if you want something that has more tweaks and features Wolfbreak's CyanogenMod 6.1.3 ROM is a good one with a lot of support and features. Id go custom if I were you mainly because of the fact that 2.1 doesnt support Flash or app2sd which are 2 features that really make android great.

If I (or anyone for that matter!) help you, dont be afraid to press THANKS!
Or you can use freex10 and simply flash cyanogen settings via xrecovery

If you want to stick with stock you should sysctl and jit along with few build.prop mods. Just search the forums. I would recommend the Z's freex10 rom for speed and stability. Tripmiui rom for something different.

Sorry all was expecting an email to tell me if anyone had replied to my post I apologise for seeming ignorant thank you all for your suggestions

[Q] Dharam's ROM Collection - Should I? - For those who cant post in Dev Section

Hey everyone,
I am planning to develop Custom ROM's as follows:
Stock
Stock Ultimate
Clean
Clean Ultimate
Ultra Clean
Ultra Clean Ultimate
Battery Saver
The features of each ROM version will be decided and then the ROM will be finalized and uploaded.
I am also planning to develop each of the above version for different BASE ROM's like
JPM
JPN
XWJPF
DDJP2
The reason to develop the following ROM's is not to provide final CUSTOM ROM's but Basic Custom ROM's which the users can then customize as per their requirements...
SO PLEASE LET ME KNOW IF YOU WANT ME TO WORK ON THIS COLLECTION...
NOTE: If there is not much response then I will work on something else other than this...
Dont take it as bad dhram bro...but many of us or atleast me is fed up of custom roms...coz in every rom nothing new...new theme and just new apps that v can download through market too....so its better you work on something else....hope you will take as an advice...;-)

help porting arc rom to x8

hi guys
i m trying to port xperia arc rom to x8
i download the rom and extracted it
now it has 2 folders in it
system
meta-inf
what things i have to do to port the rom
i m new to these things and i really want to do this
i've already read some threads
a little help will be appriciated thanks
Given the fact, that ARC and X8 did not share any hardware, I don't really think that it is an easy job, but I'm not a dev, so I can just wish luck to you for it!
What's your desired end result? Do you want an x8 with an arc like UI? There's a rom called arc x8 you might wanna try if that's the case. If you want a GB rom with SE resemblance try Gingercruzt and install the arc launcher. Both options give you an arc-ish looking phone. As for performance arc x8 is great for gaming and it's overclocked to 710 by default. Gingercruzt is not perfect but is very fast and smooth. Has the common GB rom bugs. For any other questions, probs, requests etc PM me. I'll help with what I can. I too at one point wanted arc stuffs on my phone lol. Good luck
basically i wanted to start porting roms so i started with arc cause i liked they way arc looked mediascape timescape and its fancy interface btw i have used those roms u mentioned they are good but want a complete arc rom
if u could help me take a first step it would be great

dont waste your time man.x8 has ARM6 CPU arc has ARM7.alot difference between too and you need drivers so hardware works
X8 and Arc are completely different phones and if you have no knowledge on developing... then forget it.
chris and jose, too much...
he just want to port, its not easy but i think its possible.
of course not complete same features as arc, but the complete same looks will be possible right?
hey bro. listen my advice to you would be to go for a sense rom. many people are wanting a sense rom thats fully working at the moment. i have bassicly got 1 nearlly fully working just have to get the right kernel working on it. and sort out mass storage then its done. but if you need any help with resizing apps and help with lib and that then just send me a PM and ill mail right back good luck mate
So, look at racht. He can port Legend and Hero, the more is Salsa!
Like this too, whatever the spec is different but i think it will be great and possible to port it.

ROM like oxygen or stock with tweaks..

Is there any rom like Oxygen like HTC Desire, i don't think on CM7, for Motorola Defy ? I need to install some custom rom for my girl and i need something stock with some tweaks, or something like Oxygen ? Thank you..
Stock with tweaks insures stability and speed...but a custom ROM like oxygen gives more customizations...so it's your call.. but I would go with tweaked stock
Sent from my mighty Xperia Arc S
Can you recommend some stock with tweaks ? Its very important for stability ...
