What do you recommend for a new X5? - Huawei Ideos X5 U8800

Hi guys!
I have an HTC P3451 that I love, but time has come to an upgrade!
I'll buy an Huawei U8800 shortly (hope that's a good deal ) and I'm looking for your expert recommendations for a new user!
What rom? what apps? what settings? what case?
I love my HTC ROM (see below) - is there a similar one for X5?

There is no roms that are even close to it. "What rom? what apps? what settings? what case?"
I would suggest miui or cm7, because they are easy to customize and they are fast. MIUI is more like eyecandy, but there is many miuis right now. Use ret4rds, but if it won't work, use stockwells old. I cant say much from apps, but overclock app most. What do you mean by setting? OC style setting or what? Just use normal powersaving methoids, like turn 3g and wifi off when you don't need them. For case, you should look from this thread in Modaco. and this subforum.

settings, I mean some setup that might be required for saving battery, for example.. nothing special
I'll read a bit about MUIUs

Well, juice defender or app like that, which manages your connections and keeping the clock in 800-1000mhz might be the best batter saver. Also calibrationg battery help. I have found calibration the bes methoid after changing rom.

Honestly DONT get the X5, Huawei dont support it anymore... we've been waiting for a 2.3 update that has never come.
Buy a phone thats actually supported by the company that makes it for more than a month or two after its manufacture.
My X5 is running OK with the Oxygene ROM, but i'd never buy another Huawei again after experiences with this and a previous budget one i got the girlfriend to get her into android (no updates ever came for that as well)
Dont get any Huawei phone...

so what do you suggest on similar prices?

u can try motorola defy ( not defy + bec defy defy plus charges extra bucks only for battery). my friend is using defy since 5-6 months and is quite satisfied . almost same to x5 but has gorilla glass and is water proof. also note that defy has really great support from devs ( i mean awsm support - lots n lots of roms )

Useless thread...see ya!
too bad it didn't work out for you. but we're happy here so maybe it's not your destiny to enjoy this awesome phone
?????
Maaaaan BS i bricked this phone so many times and put it back to normal FACTORY settings and it still runs silky smooth, and it's the same US T-Mobile HTC HD2
Still on my first HD2, which is running fine, and just the way I like it.
I don't think it's 'dead' at all. Someone come and sat next to me with the new iPhone yesterday, trying to show off. I got mine out (phone lol) and felt instantly better equipped than he did, with his little screen and locked down software.

Anyone try the new Juice Defender?

I had purchased it months ago when I got my Evo to save battery life but uninstalled it because the GUI was just horrible. I just downloaded it and the GUI has been made usable now. Oddly enough, JD is now able to control the CPU.
Has anyone given this a whirl?
the UI upgrade surprised me too. it takes a lot of poking around to get it really tuned in.

the old version was able to control the cpu as well
yes the new UI is great the maker just needs to fully support Gingerbread
I have been using it and recently did the update to the new one. I still use standard settings and it makes a difference on my phone. Think I am going to play with the settings to see what I can get.
Sent from my rooted HTC EVO using the xda app!
I am a long-time fan, and I set it up with advanced settings. Helps a lot with battery life.

I didnt know the old one controlled CPU as well seeing as though I ditched it sometime in Nov.
Use JD in the past but I have good battery life anyway (using SetCPU profiles, this may help) so uninstalled it.
Just tried the new one. The new UI is nice but I can not get to any meaningful settings (e.g. the nice setting page in Biofall's posting), just choosing a preset configuration. Was the free version dumbed down?
I am using CM 6.1.2

Is this a good replacement for my X8?

This phone got a 4.3 inch screen
And it runs Gingerbread
It just cost 150 pounds, thats just 50 more pounds than the X8
and it is going to be available worldwide sim unlocked
but the processor is not dual core
and its not in xda forums
What‘s type of this phone?I think it is worthwhile .
http://www.gsmarena.com/sony_ericsson_xperia_mini-3947.php
i think this would be better 2.3 and a 1GHz processor
the answer on your question depends on one thing: wheter a cpu is armv7 or armv6, if it's armv7 i'd say go and get it, but if it's not, then i wouldn't recommend it. does someone have any information about that? some accurate specification... i saw different opinions about that on forums. if it is armv7 i would also consider chosing it as my next replacement for x8.
Cheap case
Slow processor
Pointless pre-installed apps
Weak battery
I'd prefer a phone which is officially supported by CM

its predecessor is supported most likely this one will also get that support
and it got so much ram
Don't buy any chinese made phones !
Quality sucks !
I guarantee !
Go for the known brands
Such as SE .. Samsung .. HTC .. Motorolla
And so ON..
Do NEVER buy any chinese phone !
ZTE Skate? I don't think so, that it's good replacement
Its still ARMv6 is it? I won't suggest you to buy it. Because one time later you will regret buying it. No flash player, unable to high quality games, bla3.
I guess it is ARM v6.
Why, because if i am not wrong, i saw a post that, ARM v7 is minimum 1ghz above.

So, you could buy the Samsung Galaxy S1, it´s the second phone after the X8 that got GingerDX!

I'm a typical female blonde that needs some HD2 help

Can you help me please, as I don't really know about these things.
I found a HD2 on eBay UK, number: 160877136223 - I can't add a link as xda doesn't allow it.
My partners HD2 started failing about a month ago and thought I'd buy her a new one.
What do you think? Bargain? x

Looks good & clean, how much is it if it's this one http://tinyurl.com/96j2tuq
have you considered other models? why the HD2 again?
Its a great phone and it looks good grats!
http://tinyurl.com/96j2tuq
Thanks mengfei that's the one (as your link shows) and currently only for eBay bidding/auction style only, so only time will tell how much I get it for, as most of the others are either heavily used or terrible sales lots. I've contacted the seller, who has been very friendly and and will happily allow me to collect it from him, as I'm local to his location in East London.
My partner always goes on about how good her HD2 is and (from what I remember) switches between Windows and Android often. I've been using a Huawei Ascend G300 for about a month now and though it's brilliant, her HD2 (when it worked) still would do better, so a new one would be best I feel.
The bids are still very low for it and the additional accessories will go down a treat for me, lol!
Does xda have a G300 forum, as I have some questions about it?
Actually it really a good phone no wait it's a Legendary phone the HD2!
with so may custom ROMs out there & yes you can even dual boot from it.
IF you can get it brand new at around $230 then it's a good buy since used ones go for around $150
http://tinyurl.com/96j2tuq
Thanks mengfei, the phone is new, has all basic accessories, some warranty even and more bits. It's currently still at a very low price, includes free recorded delivery and only a few hours left!! So I'm very hopeful to get at a bargain!!
Wish me luck everyone
Hey! If u want to buy this phone, and if u like this phone; don't put urself in a standarts like "typical female blonde" u r extraordinary person. U'll feel it when u have the legend believe me. (my english is bad sorry ^^)

Galaxy S4 I9500 - Battery issues with many ROMs - please help me

Hi,
I have the Galaxy S4 I9500 (Israeli version) and been having battery issues since the upgrade (a year ago? for Android 5).
So I tried a few ROMs: the stock Rom of 4.4.2, Ozcan, Phoenix,
now i have the ResurrectionRemix with Android 5.1.1 , but still not getting more than 6 hours of average use (no games, no videos, just avergae apps use: Whatsapp, Facebook, Grindr, Instagram, Snapchat - nothing that justifies a charger after 6 hours).
I'm attaching my battery info pics, seems like the kernel is the main battery drainer, but i'm not sure if i need another ROM or a kernel and which one?
Pics in this link: jalbum.net/en/browse/user/album/1745248 (or below...)
Please help me, i just want the maximum battery life, i don't care about looks, cool stuff or anything, just best battery i can get.
thank you.

It's kinda hard to decipher anything when everything is in your language.
Anyway, this sounds a lot like the battery itself has a problem. I suggest trying another battery.
It's impossible that 3 completely different ROMs have the same issue.
And that the problems started with android 5 is just a coincidence.

There is no best. This is subjective, as every person has other opinions and needs.
And what does average use mean?
as i wrote... average use (no games, no videos, just avergae apps use: Whatsapp, Facebook, Grindr, Instagram, Snapchat - nothing that justifies a charger after 6 hours).
Do you know what are the best ROMs i should try?
thank you.
