I managed finally to unlock my LG Quantum with Rebel SIM II product. For my suprise in addition to Rebel SIM, USB Smart Card reader were also included in package.
Before Rebel SIM method. I tried unlocking codes without luck. My device was eventually in such state that it was prompting PUK and then PIN code in loop - entering PUK code or unlock code in prompt didn't help. I also tried flash between AT&T <-> Bell firmwares, no luck.
And of course Rebel SIM wasn't working straight from box.. I tried it on several unlocked handsets and got "no SIM card found" error.
The solution were to reflash Rebel SIM card, which of course had some issues when doing it on Windows 7.
Here are the instructions to flash Rebel SIM card firmware. Some one of you might be luckier and the Rebel SIM card works just out of box.. Or you might not need the workaround for Smart Card Win7 driver. It all depends what OS or Smart Card reader you are using.
*** I don't take any responsibility if you break something, or the trick just don't work for you ***
A. Download from Rebel SIM
===========================
1. Firmware (rebel-II_v1.cardfm) for rebel SIM
* http://rebelsimcard.com/virtu/images/downloads/rebel-II_v1.cardfm
2. Rebel Configurator software
* http://rebelsimcard.com/index.php?dispatch=attachments.getfile&attachment_id=79
B. Installing Smartcard reader driver for Windows 7
===================================================
1. Plugin Smart Card reader to USB port
2. Wait until Windows 7 installs driver from Windows Update, it will fail installing one driver.
3. Go to Device Manager, and look for Smart Card device without proper driver
4. Right click Smart Card device -> Update driver software->Browse computer for software->Let me pick
5. Select "Smart Card Filter" from "Common hardware types" list
C. Flashing Rebel SIM firmware
==============================
1. Plugin Smart Card reader to USB port with Rebel SIM card + dummy SIM
2. Open Rebel Configurator software
3. Re-select FT SCR 2000 0 from reader dropdown list (will reread Smart Card)
-> File loaded
-> FT SCR 2000 0
-> 3B 96 11 40 .........
-> Standard card in reader
4. Open custom firmware
- rebel-II_v1.cardfm
5. Write firmware & presets
hi guys, I've exactly the same problem with mine quantum, but I missed something, how this rebel simcard works? it unlocks the simcard instead of the cell phone? making it looks like the official carrier that was preset at factory? my quantum is at&t locked, and I'm trying to use an Oi (brazil carrier) simcard.

Hi everybody,
I've got a dual sim card in my Qtek 9100, with a little application that is automatically installed in the Programs Files "Dual SIM Card".
Previously, with ROM RUU_Prodigy_2080702_102_11310_QTEK_FRA_Test, it worked very fine.
Now, with the 2.17.7.6 FRE rom (radio 02.07.10, ext ROM 2.17.7.106), when I switch from SIM 1 to SIM 2, it's OK, I can enter the PIN code for the SIM 2. But when I want to switch from SIM 2 to SIM 1, the screen to enter PIN code doesn't display, and I have to make a soft reset.
Does someone know if I have to change my ROM or my Radio ROM ?
Thanks, and excuse me for my poor level in english !!!

I have a T-Mobile MDA (US) upgraded to v2.26 ROM. At this point the only SIM card I have installed in the phone is my standard T-Mobile SIM card.
In about two weeks I am headed to China, and I would like to buy a local China Mobile SIM card (pay as you go type) and install it in my phone, as the per-minute rates are only $1 versus $3 for T-Mobile.
Am I going to have to unlock my phone in order to use this second SIM card? If so, what is the correct procedure to do so?
Thanks to all in advance for your help.
lokiwiz03a is the file for this model
connect the phone to the pc
run the program on the pc
it will give you the unlocking code
you will need to enter this code when you use the new sim
good luck
Dear all,
I hv got an i9502, but the SIM card slot 1 is always showing "no SIM card" whatever I put different SIM cards.
But I am going to use it in HK, is it caused by the chinaunicom network lock. Is anybody using the other wcdma card except chinaunicom?
If it s caused by network lock, any method to unlock the network lock?
Thanks.
I think if locked, it should be both... I9502 from China unicom should be unlocked

I have similar issue. My i9502 suddenly have sim card 1 locked. When I go to <Settings> <More> <Security> <Set up SIM card lock>, it is found SIM1 is locked.
I tried to tick and unlock it, but it says "0 attempts left" and as a result, I cannot unlock SIM Card 1.
Now, I can only use SIM Card 2 on my i9502.
I have tried to refresh the firmware and the result is the same, i.e. SIM 1 is still locked and cannot be used.
Any hint to solve it!!!
Million thanks in advance.
I met same problem since this morning. have you got solution yet?

Guys , I bought a moto x play used. When I check my SIM card 's number(settings > SIM card > SIM card slot 1), it is still with the previous owner device , and not my current number . What to do?
My actual SIM card works normally
You need to load an xposed module (http://repo.xposed.info/module/com.gnufabio.simeditor). You need to this only once even not on your moto, phone with your sim card will be enough

Man, i really dont want my phone rooted... Exists other ways to do this?
I don't think so, but this can be done on your old android phone if you can install your SIM card there
