with stock 2.2.1 just edge.
phone rooted and use virtuosity : edge
them i think that would be radio issues, i flash 4 and all have the same result: Edge
flash virtuous unity results: Edge
flash radios again result: Edge
set the network mode to wcdma : edge
I use the search i don't find something useful to fix this issue.
please Help.

removed, misread question

This has NOTHING to do with T-Mobile.
Read my answer in this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=952005
Please search better next time. There are enough "stuck on Edge" threads, and one of them is on the front page of the forum. Not quite hard to find.

well that is what i thought. my bad, didnt know there was a thread about it
EDIT: i misread the question...whoops! thought he meant that he is going to the USA from panama, but its the other way around

It has to do with radio frequency T-Mobile uses 1700mhz for 4g depends on what other carrier's use and in which country

It also could be that this is a question and needs to be asked in q&a section. Where are all the moderators?

According to all the information I can find - the only frequencies used for HSPA (3G but some carriers brand it as "4G") in Panama are 850 and 1900. The MyTouch 4G does not have either of those bands. Most T-Mobile phones do not, although a few newer ones do (Amaze, SGSII, Exhibit II).
All 3G/"4G" smartphones from AT&T do have the correct compatible 3G bands for carriers in Panama. So... you should have bought an AT&T phone, not a T-Mobile phone.
Sorry. I guess you'll have to do your research next time. Maybe you can sell it on eBay to someone who lives in Europe, Africa, Asia, Canada, USA, Aruba, Brazil, Uruguay... these are the locations which have networks that are compatible with the MT4G.

The original poster is using the phone in Panama. Your experience in California is not relevant because the phone is not compatible with Panama's 3G networks.

Can the DHD really work in the US?

According to a couple of people here the DHD can work for tmo ON 3G in the states if you unlock the sim apparently how much of this is true?
Dhd works on gsm. Any septic supplier on gsm will provide service. Just like any other gsm phone. I sent ny dhd to canada and it worked great with Rogers and telus.

Did 3g work? Or edge?
It never ceases to amaze me how many people ask this question when the information is so easily obtained. In the spirit of you asking a question which has been addressed countless times on XDA forums in general, I will not provide you with an answer but the tools to find them.
Go here:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/UMTS_frequency_bands
...and match with what you find here:
http://pdadb.net/index.php?m=specs&id=2598&c=htc_desire_hd_a9191_htc_ace
Hint: btw "UMTS" means 3g freq.
Ya. It worked in Mexico, L.A., and Vancouver. I didn't use it much ad T-Mobile U.K. charges £7.50 per mb downloaded when you're roaming. I used a Mexican sim and a Canadian sim and it all worked. Gsm is normal in Europe. Cmda only seems to be in the states from what I've seen. Sorry sprint hero and evo users, I'de never heard of a phone without a sim abd that's coming from a Canadian across the Atlantic living in London.

Trade T-Mobile N1 for AT&T N1?

I bought a used N1 on eBay. I totally wasn't even thinking about the fact that there are different models of the phone for different carriers. Turns out I have the T-Mobile N1, but I have AT&T service currently.
I assume that there is no kind of mod/firmware to get it to use AT&T 3G, and that it's the hardware that limits me to T-Mo? Probably more than some custom firmware or something could fix?
That kind of sucks, if so. I doubt anyone would have an AT&T model, looking for a T-Mo model, eh?
Thanks for any help, if it's even possible..
Have you looked at the seller's return policy?
No returns accepted, as stated on the item page.
I can live with it (in remorse)..
The seller didn't mention what model it was at all, either.
I don't suppose Verizon uses the same bands as T-Mo?

No, they don't. T-Mobile and Verizon use totally different radio technologies.
Go onto the Marketplace forum on XDA, and trade/sell it through there.
Put your sim card in it

Post it for sale locally on craigslist to finance a unit with the AT&T radio.

Also if you have trouble locating the AT&T compatible N1, you may also consider the Telus version of HTC Desire. Largely the same hardware, AT&T bands, but no Euro 2100 band.
Possible bonus: AT&T does not know the IMEI of Telus Androids, and might not force you to a higher cost smart phone data plan.
Thanks for your input, guys.
I'll try first to sell it locally via Craigslist.
I really think that it will be much more difficult
since they discontinued the Nexus One, and provided it through the developers only,
it has always been the T-Mobile version which is quite disappointing....
the AT&T version seem to just disappear from manufacturing all together
point I am trying to make is that it the AT&T version should be much rarer and possibly worth more on the market since there are less quantities of it
it sucks my friend I feel for you...
How is the T-Mobile N1 different from AT&T model?
Sent from my Nexus One using XDA App
Different radio frequencies and limited availability. Otherwise identical.
Sent from my Nexus One using XDA App
I've done the exact opposite...got myself an ATT N1 while on tmobile...hahaha
hahah. I've since sold my T-Mo N1 on eBay and bought an AT&T N1 from Craigslist.. got a sweet deal, too!
wait wait a sec
If you Unlock the S off on the nexus one Tmobile. You can use a At&t sm card with out a problem. I UnloCked the S off ON the mytouch 4g AND IT works on At&t s network. HMMMM. Wondering if it works.

Yes, it will function on the network. The issue is that the radio hardware is built for specific frequencies, which differ between the T-Mobile and AT&T models.
You can use one phone on the other's network just fine as a phone, but you will be limited to 2G data speeds, as AT&T uses 850/1900MHz for their 3G data and T-Mobile uses 900 1700/2100MHz.
Umm, nobody uses 900 MHz for cellular in North America... that spectrum is not allocated for that purpose here.

You're right, my apologies. The fact of the matter (that the hardware is incompatible between the AT&T and T-Mobile networks) remains intact though.
Correct 3G data frequency information, as best I can make it out:
AT&T uses 850MHz and 1900MHz.
T-Mobile uses 1700MHz and 2100MHz.
900MHz and 2100MHz are used primarily in Europe; a phone made for European markets will have a better chance of being fully compatible with T-Mobile's network in the states based on sharing the 2100MHz band.
Closer but still not quite
Read up on the AWS band. European phones will not get T-Mobile 3G at all without 1700.
But in the specific case of the Nexus One, models sold in Europe do have AWS.

I just got the mytouch 4g and i wanted to sell my nexus one. But i wanted to double check and see if i can sell it to someone on the at&t network. I currently have tmobile. I thought the S-Off was to completely unlock the phone. So u can switch between carriers. Didnt know the frequency would be different. thank guyz. Damn u HTC.

What kind of shape is your T-Mobile N1 in?
I'm actually in the process of switching to T-Mobile, and I have an ATT model that I would potentially be interested in trading, but it's definitely not mint.

[Q] Most "Rom flashing" friendly Galaxy S$

Hi everyone, I currently own a Xperia Z1 (a fantastic phone by the way) but since it is bootloader locked there aren't many things to do with it, so
I, being the flashaholic that I am, decided to trade it for a galaxy S4 so I started searching here in my country (The Dominican Republic) for somebody to trade it with, but I need know two things:
-First: my carrier uses the 900Mhz band for 3g (As I understand only the international/sprint and verizon support that frecuency)
could somebody confirm if the T-mobile one also works on 900mhz (Carrier Orange Dominicana).
-Second: I would like to know what is the most "hack" friendly of all of the S4 Variants, I mean as close to a nexus devices as possible.
I believe the i9500 (international) to be the the one i'm looking for, but that version is getting a bit harder to get here, and I've heard bad things about the bootloader of the verizon version,(how bad it actually is?) so if I have to choose one of the carrier's version, considering the two things above, which one should a go for?
thanks for reading this.
Im in the Caribbean and my carriers 3g band is 850. The most hack friendly is definitely the i9505 (snapdragon version) which is what I have and it supports the 900 3g band. So there you go get the i9505, it has LTE as well you never know when it may come to your country.

Thanks for replying, the i9505 looks like an excellent choice, but then again is rather difficult to get an international here, Most sellers / owners willing to sell/trade have either the verizon or sprint version (a few others have the T-Mobile one) so if I were to choose between the verizon's or Sprint's, which one would be the wisest choice? (I know that both support the 900mhz 3g frecuency) I heard both aren't too open to mods (Locked Bootloaders, self sim locking, etc.... )
Out of the blue this website/forum posted this exact post made by me. Is this even legal? seems like they are stealing XDA threads info and posting thm as their own

SM-N910K stuck on 3G in Brazil

Ok, so i ordered a SM-N910U from 28mobile.com, and they sent me a carrier branded SM-n910K, which by its specifications should work with Brazilian LTE (band 7 - 2600). However I am stuck on 3g. I was wondering if maybe the whole internet is wrong and this device doesnt support this band, or maybe its some sort of carrier lock. Also, how do i disable the awful branding, will flash a different firmware work and which do i flash?
Thanks

1) check frequencies that U model supports @ samsung website (its asian/hong kong, right? those miss some frequencieos)
2) check which frequencies are used for 4g by your brazilian telco.
3) compare.
if frequencies match, you might want to try:
1) getting a new sim that is surely 4g-capable
2) getting an iphone nano-sim. this is crazy, but for many users in russian forums that has solved 4g connectivity issues with one telco.
3) making sure your plan supports 4g
4) ensure you have 4g coverage.

Is the SM-N910U the same as the SM-N910K as far as LTE bands go? I dont get it, they are both supposed to support Band 7 - 2600MHZ, which is the one we have over here. What about flashing a different firmware? I've been trying with odin, to no success.
They do support that frequency so it's probably something to do with your sim card or carrier?
And 28mobile told me I was receiving one model only to get the k model like you. Wasn't happy. The updates for firmwares are slow

Well, I am on a LTE plan, tried 3 different sims already, they are all stuck on 3G...And all our carriers have the same band, which is 7...So it's not the sim or the carrier...its the phone. I bet that there's some sort of lock going on, since all roaming options are grayed out (the phone is not stuck on roaming, however). I am trying to flash any other model's firmware, like U, C and even S, but odin always fails when trying.

When you ordered the "U"-model, and got a branded "K"-model, I would complain to the shop you bought it and demand a swap to the model you ordered!

using USA's G935 in Europe. Need help where should I buy it.

Hello,
I'm new here on this forum. My friend told me, that you can know answer for my question.
I want to take S7 edge in usa, without contract. The biggest problem would be bands of course. In my country are used B3 for lte bands and 900MHz for others (i'm not 100% sure. I'm living in Poland now) Could you help me' where should I buy new S7 edge to use is without any problems in my country?
Before I was using SGH-1337 (s4 at&t) and it cant use lte in poland :good::crying:
Have a nice day. Waitin' for your replies. Thank you
In poland band 1/3/7/20/38 are available
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_LTE_networks_in_Europe
G935 usa model have 1/3/7 band and others depending on network provider
http://www.phonescoop.com/phones/phone.php?p=5081
So it's up to you to choose the right one, but the unlocked one seems the one to buy

Soo, if I look here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/s7-edge/how-to/detailed-sm-g935-s7-info-t3326180
there's no possibility to buy s7 edge in usa in branded shops, but that's the only way to get it in usa.
On other site: http://m.gsmarena.com/samsung_galaxy_s7_(usa)-7960.php
There are different bands, so I'm confused now.. this site shows that good will be phone fron At&t or cricket, another one tells me something different, great. :good:
Ok, problem solved for me. I used page named Frequencycheck (sorry, cannot add url as new user)
Great page, you can choose country, search product and it shows which one is compatible with bands, cellulars in country. Big thumb up for this page :good:
Thanks for answer mate. Thread can be closed.
Yeah.. #same This is annoying as.. Wasted hours putting playlists together on Music Player only to have contents get deleted when power off / on.. Read something about being able to make sd card 'adoptable storage' by tweeking developer options.. may give this a try, but it involves formatting the current sd card, so plan to try when i have some time..
