Many thanks to Kwiboo first for making a mostly daily ICS rom.
I flashed it last night and would like to talk about some bugs.
1. "android.process.acore" error
It comes frequently after using a third part Contacts Sync App.
That is to say, only System Account Sync is OK to avoid this error.
2. Apps bugs
a. "root explorer" UI error.
b. "QQ" force quit.
Other function is still tested, but so far so good.
I can't wait any longer for the next more perfect version.
Come on Kwiboo !
ICS from Kwiboo is really nice enough to be a daily ICS rom.
Posting here to say thanks to kwiboo! ****ty 10 post to write in dev section! xD
And with franco kernel it's awesome!
Anyway to get rid of the flashing screen on lock?
I noticed Google Wallet won't work. It says something about insufficient privileges. Which sucks because I actually use Google Wallet.
Nevermind about the flashing screen. It disappeared after flashing the new version of the kernel! : )
damn it
have to post 10 posts before starting a thread... i am not gonnaa forget my account again,<3 android, was, is, always
haha, actually same purpose for me, no bug like flashing screen on lock wor, just use the whole rom from Kwiboo.

I noticed that GoSMS is unable to load my contacts, just shows phones #'s. I assume it's due to GoSMS not being ICS compatible?
I also signed up to say thanks for this So if you read this kwiboo.. thanks
I have a NexusS i9020XXKD1 (Wind/Tmo)
I am running kwiboo's v2
patched with Franco (No OC)
For the most part everything works, I have found these problems.
In addition to kwiboo's issues
Not working at this time:
Enhanced Email app (FC, Based on GB Email app, needs to update)
Viber app (FC)
VPN PPTP (Doesn't connect, worked fine in 2.3.7)
Google Wallet v5 Patch (FC)
Occasional Lockups (1-2x a day, attribute to Franco's kernel, if I had to guess)
Go SMS works alright, but your contacts are deleted in the flashing process, no Google services yet, no market but will be fixed in near future (I hope)

Exchange Calendar isn't syncing..
Camcorder won't record
Browser behavior is at times wonky where it zooms all over.
It seems to get steadily better.

Everyone,
just thought I would share this with you. I had discovered a problem in the native Email app with Exchange ActiveSync account. If a connection was lost a battery drain occurred which did not stop unless you killed the service, restarted your phone or put the connection back (a partial wake lock was not released in the sync service).
http://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=9307
I have been in discussions with Google developers about this for a long time and they were not able to find or track down the bug. I managed then to compile the Email app myself, debug it, find the problem and fix it.
Google finally confirmed the bug...
You can see the symptoms explained in post #77.
At the end of the issue you can see my analysis and how the code was fixed.
Anyway, find the latest Email app below so you can download it.
The Email app version is 2.3.5r1 (latest Git repository version of Gingerbread 2.3.5r1)
The changes done
- Fixed battery drain (wake lock released properly)
- Calendar synchronization syncs all historic events (not only 14 days old and newer)
Installation notes
Since Email app is a system application you cannot just install it and replace the old one. The only way is to have a rooted phone and delete the old /system/app/email.apk (make a backup of course).
Reboot your phone and then install the new Email.apk. It is suggested to remove the accounts first otherwise you can get a FC.
That's great work Jacob!
This bug should exist on all gingerbread roms, no?
Should I just installed it or replace the original one with root explorer?
Can not synchronize ALL messages, maximum period is month!

I have just updated the installation notes. This could work too but since I was constantly updating and testing the app I decided to make it a user app by the steps in the first post.

Yes, a standard behavior of the Email app. I could bypass that too if you need. It's a shame that both Calendar and Email period of sync cannot be setup properly (whatever the user might desire)
Great news, thank you very much!!!
Will definitely test this evening .
Yes, ability to sync all mail would be nice, too, if it's not a problem for you .
This is great, good job.
I experimented the same issue and noone seemed to believe me. Well done.
EDIT: btw im a galaxy s cyanogen mod user, maybe you could post this in a more general forum
I'm not knowledgeable about these things, but how would someone go about getting this fix implemented into CM7? I'm also a Galaxy S CM7 user who has suffered from this issue and I've had to resort to using Moxier Mail as a remedy. If I install this fixed .apk, will it just get overwritten once I flash the next CM7 nightly? It would be great if it could be integrated into CM7.
Works very well on Samsung GalaxyS-CM7, thanks a lot!
One question though, the maximum sync period is one month, whereas in the CM7 client it can be set to unlimited (for email at least).
I also made a zip-file to flash this new email.apk. Made for galaxy S CM7, but I guess it should work on any CM7...
3h ago exchanged Email.apk and so far good. Switching to Flight produces 2mA drain. Synchronizing corporate mail and Contacts/Calendar works normally with no issues so far .
niiiiiceeeeee!!!!
but is there any way to get the app skaled when changing the devices-density???
it's been workin' with this one:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=775007
but your version keeps beein small while changin
thx in advance...
Hi jakubklos,
I'm using airplain mode every night when I go to sleep and being aware of this annoying bug I usually kills the EMail app and stops all it syncs.
From now I can go to sleep knowing I won't be losing 10% or more of my battery while sleeping.
You're great man!
BTW, Beats me what takes Google so much time to fix it themselves.
genius, thanks jakubklos
Is this the same email app for sense roms or is it only ASOP that is effected by this issue?
Also, Way to go on showing google up!

I got that too after installing it, but then I fixed the permissions using Rom Manager and rebooted and it worked.
If I am using the Gmail app, can't I just uninstall the system app and not worry about installing the new one?

I had an issue with an error at startup where it would say "Unfortunately, SWIPE has stopped" keep popping up until I enabled and disabled it in settings. Plus the app drawer would crash if you scroll to much into it. And Facebook Contacts pictures will not sync. And some issues with GPS I've heard about. Other then that, it seems usable and ICS Is amazing pretty quick!
I have yet to get contacts or gmail to sync.

I've never had an issue with signin if, firstboot = get to home screen, let it settle, then power off.

Works great for me, just make sure you back everything up, do a complete wipe and fresh install. I've backed-up/reinstalled my apps using Titanium Backup and they worked fine.

I've been using alpha 5 since it came out as my daily driver. Other than a few little things here and there, I've found no deal breakers. Had some issues with maps, but I flashed the GPS fix and cleared the Maps data and it's working great now.
What worked for me through all the Alphs was Full Wipe (a couple times), flash ROM, restart, flash modified GApps (not the one in the first post), restart, fix permissions, restart. I have had zero problems by doing this each time.
Does anyone know if it is possible to have a corporate calendar synced with this? I was able to add my corporate email, and under system settings> accounts & sync, it shows sync calendar option, but when I go into the calendar, it doesn't show the corporate calendar. Even under the calendar settings, my corporate account is listed, but it says "no calendars". Any ideas?

+1 on what KCB5 said earlier. I've been using deck's ROM since A1 as daily and it gets better and better every time. That being said I still get a few reboots here and there and gmaps is inconsistent but other gps apps work fine so I'm sure there are kinks. IMO the faster I push my phone...the fewer probs I have. check the thread by galandy . Its the qualcom vision 1.1 vision GPS driver.
I've been using drews p5 since last weekend as a daily driver. Running great. As for launcher FCing or lagging, search xda for Nova launcher. Much more stable and more options, resize any widget, etc. In a week, I've only experienced 2 reboots, and I use my phone constantly.
There are several versions of gapps floating around. There are fixed calendar apks (and email) for sync and exchange. I have them and can post them if you can't find them.
Very stable, very awesome, and drews and decks are essentially the same. Camera works at 8mp now. Video play back has black lines and needs some work.
Daily driver? 100% IMHO

If anyone needs the fixed calendar and email apks, they're in the zip. Extract them, move to /system/app, set permissions to rw-r-r, and reboot.

Been running Decks alpha 5 since it was released. Log into Gapps with no issues, mail and calendar sync worked for me, have an additional exchange account with no issues. I used the Gapps file titled.... ICSGoogleApps12-16. I also flashed the GPS drivers listed in previous post. I use Waze as my daily navigation (free from market) and have had zero issues. Although camera works its still a work in progress. No tweaks, yet, and still fast and smooth. Issues I have encountered. Whenever I have down time I played Blood and Glory. The game loads, plays intro but closes when loading. Probably cause the app isn't ICS compatible. Netflix loads but no video, YouTube loads and videos are jerky as well as any video files I have saved on my phone, also jerky.
Complaints...... None !!!!! Very nice and for a group of guys to have a running ICS release for my EVO long before HTC...... priceless. Outstanding work to all who have contributed.

Dear All,
Have had the nexus 10 for a few weeks now and love it. Recently though, the tablet has been freezing quite a bit. Usually happens when I am browsing the web. In these instances I have to reboot to get the tablet functional again. Anyone else experience this and if so any suggestions on how to fix the issue? Also how do I check for updates on the nexus 10. The normal About Tablet field under settings does not seem to have the system update option anymore.
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks

Check some other threads, I read a lot of people are having reboot/freeze issues whilst using the browser, some have suggested
methods like not upgrading to 4.2.1 and disabling some 2D GPU.

I did do a search but it did not provide a clear solution. Some people have said that they removed HD widgets. What widgets are these purple referring to? Also what do you mean when you say disable 2DGPU?
Finally, where is the system updates option in the Jelly bean?
Thank you so much for taking the time to respond.

Basically, it seems to be related to Google Location Services & some apps that use that... You could turn off location services unless needed in Settings... Or you could use a custom ROM... Most custom ROMs include fixes not yet included in stock...
I've got the same issue I have my Gps and location off and I still get reboot in chrome and dolphin browser. Sometimes it freezes during Google play app updates and downloads.
Could be an app could be the os , not hardware so it will get fixed eventually.

I'm sorry to disappoint you guys, but on my Nexus ten running CM 10.1-20130205-NIGHTLY-manta i got a freeze and reboot 10 minutes ago.
The wireless bug also does not seem to be fixed. On google Hangouts my wifi connection drops after a few minutes and gets back in seconds, enough for g+ to disconnect from the hangout.
Google needs to fix this soon. Makes the tablet very unusable sometimes -.-
i got no reboot issue at all since the first day

Here are some reasons that you should not update your Android OS to 4.4 for the time being (as of Nov 15):
1. Flash is broken. The sideloaded Adobe flash no longer works (at least with Firefox)
2. Stock email app is not fully functional. Issues are reported with Exchange sync. In my case, I use imap mail. Stock email app even had problem syncing with my imap server. Emails deleted on my computer still showed on my N7.
3. XBMC (nightly built) is only working after you disable hardware decoding.
4. Most of the improvements in UI (launcher) featured in Nexus 5 DO NOT appear on Nexus 7. Your launcher looks nearly the same as 4.3.
Anyone else encountered issues with KitKat? Feel free to add to the list above.
[Update]
In case you updated to 4.4, and want to revert back, this is one way to return to 4.3:
http://www.androidpolice.com/2013/0...stock-using-a-full-factory-image-and-root-it/
Warning!!! You will lose your data. So backup anything important.
After you put 4.3 back, here is how you remove notification to automatic update to 4.4:
1. Go to Settings - Apps - ALL - Google Services Framework (Uncheck "Show notifications")
2. This doesn't stop Android from download the update. If your N7 is rooted, you can delete the update file. It is in /cache. (If your N7 is not rooted, you are out of luck)
3. In the future, if you want the update again:
Go to Settings - Apps - ALL - Google Services Framework (clear cache and data, restart)
For the reason 4, you can download and install Google Home launcher. It work perfectly ☺

I came from CM10.2 and glitch kernel to stock Kitkat then kitkat with glitch.
Things I miss from that transition:
- In the close programs area I miss the close all the programs at once ability.
- I miss being able to swipe down and hold on the WiFi toggle to switch networks
- I miss my USB DAC working (this is no big deal to me but it is cool when it works)
I am beginning to come to the understanding though that regardless whether you are on a Custom ROM, Stock 4.3, Stock 4.4, whatever......
it really all looks the same, and acts the same. I think you just pick what you like and go with it and that's what is wonderful about the Android platform......the ability to pick and choose.
If I want my USB DAC back I'm quite literally a ROM flash away from doing it.
For now I'm going with kitkat and glitch kernel which nets me a 3G wireless dongle. If it weren't for the dongle stock 4.4 would be just fine for me.

It works for me, as well. Nice new feature, especially once Google Search is updated to v3.1. Thanks for the tip!
I don't see very many reasons NOT to upgrade to 4.4 on a Nexus 7 2013.....I've lost two apps: wifi manager and Xposed framework to activate the "experimental features" of Greenify. Greenify still works, of course, and Xposed will soon be updated.

The two things I miss are Xposed (and the Gravity add on). I also didn't want to give up Multiboot. So, I left 4.3 as my "internal" OS and loaded 4.4 as a secondary in Multiboot. I then set 4.4 as the default. Elemental kernel works fine with the WiFi fix posted. Now I need to go back and trim a lot of fat off my 4.3 "base" install.
When I can get Multiboot and Xposed I will probably flash 4.4 as the base OS.

Hey, I waited.. about 10 seconds!
Flash is dying. I don't think adobe is developing it any longer for android. They only have older version without support on their website.
Good, then we shall fight in the shade!
The biggest 4.4 issue for me is that text reflow is broken in lots of apps including Yahoo Mail and browsers (Next, Opera, etc). (Text reflow reformats the column of text partially visible on the screen to fit the screen. ie. zoom in until it's big enough and the the text is reformatted either automatically or by a double tap.
It's a huge issue for me as I find mobile web sites a poor substitute for their full featured desktop siblings. Without text reflow, I'm stuck scrolling horizontally to read each line.
I don't use flash a lot but find it pretty essential when I need it.
Web browsing also seems significantly slower with multiple browsers than 4.3.1,
I'm restoring my backup and going back to 4.3.1. Kit Kat didn't bring anything I've found significant in my use but has broken stuff that's important to me.
Kitkat doesn't bring anything significant, but brings problems (which will be ironed out over time, but now they are there).
It's definitely best to stay on 4.3 until it really pays to upgrade.
Sometimes the Android community appears to me like a religious cult where people dance around a golden calf and don't want to see reality anymore. "Holy update! Save my soul!"

I don't feel like downgrading since I got sick battery life with 4.4 but what I miss the most is app ops. The best feature from 4.3 and almost no-one is talking about the removal of it.

there's a bug with the CPU performance in that if you try and set the max and min values and check "set on boot" they somehow get reset to the default settings or get maxed out. this only happens when "set on boot" is activated.
Just an FYI the CM Nightlies have a CPU bug. Mine was charging for an hour and it gained 8% battery and was so hot I didn't even feel safe holding it. (This is coming from someone who has done alot of crazy and stupid stuff with my phones) The charger was hot as hell as well. Not sure if its a charging issue or CPU clock/voltage issue (it runs a lot hotter then GPE under load) but be warned.
Switched it back to GPE and its fine.. Also keep an eye out for ART, don't have it charging while making the switch (android is upgrading screen). The phone will get molten and I am not joking.

the CPU wasn't an issue in CM10.2 so it's something in CM11...will probably end up going to OmniROM instead.
?
I havent been having any issues with overheating. in the latest build however there are constantly force closes of the sound search process. not sure what thats about.
Anyone else having issues with the internet search results not coming up in the dialer search bar?
also why is this thread in the general category and not development?

yes, i am replying to my own post... apparently if you go to settings -> accounts -> Google -> Search and enable google now, then the "ok Google" hot word that activates search in the persistent search bar on the home screens does not work.
As soon as i disabled google now, the ok google hotword activates voice commands again, as it should.
Is this normal?
How is the camera quality?

Same as it was in CM10.2 pretty much.
Can any of you access the Google+ auto awesome video?
I used to have it on a GPE Rom but looks like it is no longer there on CM11...

Fixed!
I was getting these error messages and all the latest nightlies weren't installing for me either, with no information given with the error message,
So after many hours of messing around, I figured out the problem. I use clockwork to flash my mods. And I downloaded "ROM Manager" from Play Store. When starting the program, I noticed a message saying there was a new version of clockwork available and asked if I wanted to download it. I figured, what the hell, couldn't hurt! So I downloaded, installed it. Then updating to the latest nightly (cm-11-20140525-NIGHTLY-m7.zip) worked! No more problem!
I hope this helps some people install their newest nightlies!!!!#@ Enjoy,
