I wonder since Steve Kondik works for Samsung if he had some insights or anything to help him achieve this task faster than others? The source was designed to compile for the Galaxy Nexus, and there is so little information out there about this on tablets (which is ironic since it's the version that's supposed to streamline the two), though I suppose Android is Android whether it's tablet or phone... you still have the core OS, the kernels and the drivers to worry about no matter what model you're developing for.
Doesn't really matter, it's good news anyway.
Thanks for posting the screengrabs and quotes. now the big question is, when is "soon"?
This is going to be awesome! Can't wait for the nightlies

So, I'm a bit tired of waiting for someone more experienced than myself to do the job and I haven't seen any confirmation that anyone is even working on this. I am starting today on porting Honeycomb to the Tab.
However, I'm a programmer, not an engineer, so the final product, if it even works, will likely have major issues (think no 3g, no camera, random FCs etc.) It is possible to do though, I have confirmed that much with my CS professor/friend.
So, if in three to four weeks no skilled dev gets it done, you'll at least have my crap attempt and maybe someone can fix it.
Just don't expect a lot.

Im no developer, but i believe that its more worthwhile for programmers and engineers to port Honeycomb rather than gingerbread to the Galaxy Tab as honeycomb is tablet based.

Guess i should read things before posting 'em... Well i'll be ready for the flaming.
Samsung confirms Galaxy S II will receive Android 4.0 ICS
Samsung UK announced via its Twitter feed that the Galaxy S II will be updated to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. It’s hardly a surprise since the Galaxy S II lineup is based on top-notch hardware and the latest Android Gingerbread.
Unfortunately, there is no information on release dates or any details on the other Galaxy S II members (besides I9100). Still, we guess all the Galaxy S II phones should be eventually upgraded to ICS.
Also, the information comes from Samsung UK, but we guess it should apply for all the countries the Galaxy S II is available in.
I'm not looking forward to seeing what Samsung's touchwiz does to the look and feel of ICS. I really didn't like what they did with the Galaxy Tab, even though it may have a few nice functions. The overly light and colourful look of TouchWiz is unappealing to me.
What I'm most interested about though is what they are going to do with the buttons. I would like to see the menu button be used for multitasking, but then I don't know how they could deal with legacy apps that still require a menu button...
I don't want to have to hold down the home button for an unspecified amount of time to get to the multitasking screen any more.
Arm your flame-shield.
Oh for god sake! Now i noticed it, i posted the wrong link. ****... Sorry guys. anyway someone made a thread about this same thing with the right link. **** im stupid...

Adobe announced that they have one more build release to add support for 4.0, but that will be it (aside from standard bug and security fixes I suppose).
http://www.engadget.com/2011/11/21/flash-for-android-not-quite-dead-yet-will-land-on-ice-cream-san/
Who knows if this will change in the future, but if any Android release in the future breaks this compatibility that might be it for Flash on mobile devices altogether.

It's actually a huge detail. I for one will be happy just to see ICS, but ICS will pale in comparison to CM9.
Why wouldn't it be a cm build? The only reason we don't have one right now was because of the source not being released for honeycomb and cm doesn't downgrade devices. Shoot, cyanogen now works for Samsung, so they'd have a business incentive to get ics on the gt10.1 fast (albiet unofficially) considering it's their flagship tablet.

First of all thanx to everyone for discussing here...... I have just posted about Galaxy 10.1 to get CM9 ICS very soon with a link to it. However some of our friends here are unhappy. I appreciate their feelings........Better work together in future...........
Thanks & Regards
I'm not usually one to flame so I will apologize, but people on these forums are very quick to pick up on spam and it just gets old after a wile. Everthing in your posts point to promoting your website. First of all, the site you reference(as if you are not a part of them) closely resembles your user name here on XDA, not to mention the link in you signature, O and your post count alone points to the fact that you are only here to do what we are insinuating. My post count may be low, but that's only because I actually read damn near all the information I need and don't need to ask dumb questions, unless I'm really stuck or over my head.
It just gets anoying to check these threads every day to find new news about ICS, to only find a new post with week old news. This also points to the fact you have not been reading around this fourm, or else you would know people would flame you for posting the same old stuff.
So I hope you got all the web hits you needed to do what ever it is you needed to do, but could we please keep the ICS talk not relating to development on the more replied/informative threads.

I don't understand why they don't just do it for the 7500, correct me if I'm wrong, but couldn't the Wifi Only people just run the 3G firmware without any consequences? It would be just like using a phone without your sim card in it wouldn't it?
