Interesting hidden image

So I decompiled framework-res.apk from an eg22 build and in drawable-nodpi I see the attached picture. I laughed a little then was curious.... what the heck is it for or is it just an easter egg?

definitely an easter egg
this is a known image in gingerbread builds for all phones. you can view it on any phones running stock gingerbread roms or even custom roms if they haven't gotten rid of the option.
To activate it, go to ‘Settings’, tap ‘About phone’, scroll down to the end of the list and tap ‘Android Version’ twice and see for yourself.
That is really cool. I like Google. ^_^
I remember when they found this on the Nexus S.

maybe gingerbread being released on the epic is the start of the zombie apocolypse

Hidden Gingerbread Zombie

Just thought I would throw this out there as a odd find. Messing around with a friends Atrix I was checking the version of Gingerbread & noticed I was rapidly touching the Android Version in settings and the screen quickly transitioned to an image of the Gingerbread Zombie
Stock Android Gingerbread OTA update version 2.3.4 - Just continuously touched the Android Version field as quick as possible for a second or two & this appears. Curious to see if this happens to any one else.
It's called an "Easter Egg" and it's been like that since Gingerbread was released. Here is an article from December:

Miui China asking which Phone to port to next!

Not to take anything away from the developers here, but this could give development a shot in the arm if we are picked!

It borrows heavily from MIUI, but it's incredibly customizable. You can customize your status bar, icons, lockscreen, Dialer, Font, SMS, Boot Animation, etc. It is also one of the fastest ROMs. The Music App tells you the lyrics.

It works everytime, and was found before Nexus S (and GingerBread) was officially released.
Apparently, the same happened with Galaxy Nexus (and IceCream Sandwich), the nyandroid was found before the GN was officially relased. this one is more "complete" afte the android shows it self, you can hold it and it starts flying.
you can watch it here

Cool trick for SGSIII

Go to Settings > About device > keep tapping Android version
Press and hold the android..
And watch all the androids take over your screen
I am aware that some know about this, but for those who did not know.. enjoy!!
