which custom rom you are using?
if you want i can give you the dialer(pic in my signature) as mine.

1) Copy this file (see attachments) with root explorer or similar app to system/app and replace it.
2) Change permissions to :
x x -
x - -
x - -
3)Do a Reboot. Done!

Anyway backup your old contact app.

[Q] T9 search in the standard android dialer?

hi guys, i would ask all the developers if is possible to modify the standard android dialer adding T9 search for contacts (like MIUI dialer / YOULU / DIALER ONE). Could someone create a flashable zip (I'm using DeFrost 6.1a)?
Thank you for your hard work.
any luck with this?
I'm also interested in this function, as I found that Youlu and Dialer One to be rather slow...
bump...
I'd also really like this feature. T9 style contact searching within the dialer is just about the only thing I miss from Sense now that I'm running CM7, and I'm not a fan of any of the dialer / contacts replacements that include it. They're all just...ugly, imo, compared to the stock dialer.

This is added in post cm7.1 builds. Perhaps just installing contacts.apk from those kangs would work for cm7.1 official release. Will you try? I can provide apk.
Is defrost froyo based? No luck if you are not a good friend of some cm developer.

I like the simplistic CM7 T9 dialer, works very well for me. However, the phone reverts back to the original non-T9 dialer when rebooted. Any suggestion how to permanently keep the T9 dialer?

Yes.
First backup your original apk file.
It is inside /system/app
Then copy new file and paste it in /system/app (over old one).
Set unix/linux permissions on newly copied file as rw-r--r--.
Reboot phone.
Use some root capable file manager such as Root Browser Lite or ES File Explorer.

[FIX] Battery Icon <60% (racht's Floyo 0.25)

This should fix the battery icon when the stat is below 60% (the icon become red).
just rewrite framework-res.apk to /system/framework.
(like installing a theme)
how to:
make a BACKUP first.
download the framework-res.apk here
and follow the steps how to push it to /system/framework here
i know many others already know how to do this.
i hope this will help you.
its good. so I will test it
well mate it works! Thanks a lot.
It works well.Thank you a lot!
Is the attached framework-res.apk already rewrite? I mean is this the file to overwrite the existing framework-res.apk in the rom?
thanks a lot for the help.

you can do this yourself. Just make a copy of this, and rename the apk to zip. make a copy of the zip file
extrace and then locate the png files and do some photoshop!
Then replace the contents with the new files in the zip file (I dont recommend zipping the contents. Just replace the zip's content)
you can make your own animation.!

Try to do it yourself.
if you are using froyobread:
do a BACKUP
1. go to xrecovery
2. go to backup & restore > backup
3. when its done, reboot phone
4. then, apply this
5. see if it works. if its not, restore your system.
and you cannot change racht's floyo 0.25 bootanimation. coz i tried it myself, not working. i think the hackdroid logo is a splash screen.
Hey guys... I have got a problem with this fix: When I installed the framework and my mobile rebooted, it said that many applications processes like LauncherPro and Android phone weren't working, I pressed on Close, but they always came to the first position, so I restored it, and now I'm scared... Hahahaha, what can I do?
thnks man.awesome
Thanks for this fix!
Thanks... You just save my day. Manage to change that framework from phone terminal emulator since I don't have Android SDK install in my laptop.

BEFORE ASK HOW TO INSTALL OR WHY DOES IT SAY'S APPLICATION IS NOT INSTALLED? THIS APP CAN NOT BE INSTALLED AS USUAL! YOU NEED TO USE THE METHOD BELOW!
If you got the ICS_Analog_clock1.0.apk installed in system/app, do the following step

Then use the procedure below!
How to install!
Download Apk and put it on your SD-Card "Put it where ever you want, just so you can find it)
now use root explorer (or your preferred system file manager)
copy the ICS_analog.1.1.apk to system/app

[HOW-TO][GUIDE] Set CM7 Theme as Default when cooking ROMs [With Screenshots]

This is a how-to guide one how to set a theme chooser theme as default. I see a lot of users asking for it, so I decide to make a guide.
Download Theme Chooser Theme
Download apk manager from here or here and extract it to C:\apk-manager\
Place your theme apk in place-apk-here-for-modding folder
Open Script.bat (Screenshot)
Choose Option 22 - Select Project
Select your theme
Choose option 9 - Decompile Apk
Go to Projects
Open AndroidManifest.xml
Copy the pluto:themeID and package (Screenshot)
Open Build.prop and scroll down to the end
There will be two lines like: persist.sys.themeId=Cyanbread and persist.sys.themePackageName=com.tmobile.theme.Cyanbread (Screenshot)
Change them to match your theme
Now copy the theme apk to /data/app/ or /system/app/ of the ROM you are cooking or the theme won't work
If you follow my guide, please press the Thanks button

How do you change the default theme in CyangenMod 10 I don't think this work work with it cos the 2 line in the build.prop are not there no more,
So If a dev that has changed the theme in CM10 can post about it it would be great..

[MOD] Statusbar Tweaks for Stock firmware **DISCONTINUED**

DISCONTINUED. New updates on this THREAD
Hello!
I'm parasmi from the Galaxy Mini Forum.
Just want to share this mod to the Galaxy Ace users
This mod adds customization to statusbar clock, battery, and signal. It also includes Battery Bar and will enable you to change statusbar background color and transparency (needs root access). It's accessible via Setings > Statusbar Tweaks
I don't have an Ace but I tested it on my phone using your DDKQ8 firmware. No guarantee in will work on other firmwares.
As always, flash at your own risk! Backup is a must!
Credits:
RomanBB for Statusbar Tweaks sources
pvyParts for additional Statusbar Tweaks sources and Battery Bar
Screenshots (taken from my ROM) HERE and HERE
@ROM cooks - if you will use this in your ROM, please give proper credit and add a link to this post.
Enjoy!
Installation notes:
-Again, your firmware should be DDKQ8
-You should know if you have an odex or de-odex firmware
-You only need to install 1 zip file from the attachment. It will depend if you are using CWM or Stock Recovery AND if you have an odex or de-odex system
If the zip file doesn't work, try manual installation -
1. Extract the contents of the appropriate zip file
2. Using Root Explorer, copy the extracted APKs to your phone's /system/app/ folder. Override files if prompted
3. Set permissions as attached
4. Reboot
5. To use custom fonts, create a folder /system/TEAM/font/ and place any font file a rename it to 'clock_font.ttf'. Set permissions as attached
Reserve just in case
hey
im uisng ddkq8 on ace and the 3 rd app from your list does not install via cm 5.some advise?

Great job bro !!!!

does this have the battery bar like honey comb ???
I use Lovetz's Odexed CyanogenMod 7.2-cooper-KANG-RC1-Android 2.3.7 on DDKQ8, and installed this in a hurry (cause I've been hungering for transparent status bar for a long time). But after reboot, I lost settings option from the menu. As you adviced, I used odex patch and its an odexed Rom over DDKQ8 base, so whats wrong? Its not for CM7?
