Hi all, it will be great if someone clarifies on the difference between indian version Galaxy note and other countries Galaxy note.. Am an Indian living in Kuwait and I wanted to buy this mobile from India as it s very cheap there. But will there be any difference in terms of GSM thing and quality of manufacturing?
I do not think so! there shouldn't be any differences as such...

Hi,
I am going to buy Galaxy note.
But i have a doubt.
Does the Indian Galaxy note have GPU(Malli 400) built in it?
Cause i cant find in the specifications of the Samsung India site.
I want to buy it today but i am worried about the presense of GPU in the Indian version of it.
If anybody has details regarding this please reply.
Thanks.

India has 3.5G in all (yes, all) cities with multiple operators (3 operators likely in wherever you go for 3.5G) and soon operators are launching 4G.
2G is GPRS which being in India, i have never seen on my phone in past 10 years, even in remote areas, there is EDGE which is 2.5G network and manages a 10kbps speed minimum (that's for villages too)
There is no NFC in note.

the international i9000 doesn't have 3g 850 (it has 900 instead of 850). Also, the digital tv thing will only work in brazil due to their tv infrastructure (from what I've heard).

Can you read? Where has anyone even mention 2g! We are talking about 3G!
Sorry if I sound harsh, but it annoys me when people don't take the time to actually read what a posts says. 3G! not 2G!
And if you're wondering why anyone cares about 3G 850 is because AT&T uses it among other carriers.

IPhone goes for similar prices, it's due to three things, last just being a rumor:
taxes
*competition/market size for high end phones @1000 you wont have many *customers (percentage of population-wise), adding an extra 400 won't cost you that many but will raise your profitability by a lot
*bundled services (rumor)
Maybe the needed hardware (except the antenna... obviously) is already in the rests of galaxy s's? Someone has compared the disassembly of both versions? Maybe it can be activated some day lol
If it's in there, hope it is dvb-h (i'm in europe)
this price is not uncommon at all here in brazil. All no-contract phones goes around 1000 US$.
I have tested the brazilian galaxy s and tv reception is fantastic. Worked flawlessly inside a shopping center.
Here in Argentina either. I bought my unlocked SGS (european version) for 900 bucks.
I would really love getting the dual SIM version of the Samsung Galaxy S 4 as it would allow me to carry one less phone with me. But in the end I'm not sure if the pros outweight the cons.
Pros:
- Able to use two SIMs in the same phone
- Exynos 5 Octa, which will see very limited availability in Europe
Cons:
- China Unicom specific version
- No international warranty outside of China
- UI may not be available in English?
- Will be stuck with the stock Chinese firmware as the ROMs for i9500 / i9505 will not work on this
Is anyone else considering buying an i9502 to be used outside of China?

I would like to have i9502 and I have the same questions and worrying about the warranty outside of China. I'm gonna wait till it is available on eBay. I hope that some companies could give at least 12 months international warranty for this device.
I am thinking of buying one for use world wide. I assume no one will be developing a custom ROM for this version.
Is there a way to install the Play Store and Gapps?
As the S4 should be highly popular, we might see more developing for the exynos chipset. Once they come out with the aosp base for it, developing for the variants should be easier.
Since i9502 is China based, we should see a MIUI Rom for it soon

I thought samsung released their official rom for this phone? Doesn't it therefore mean that we can root this without any bugs? I remember the Note 2 dual sim custom rom had bugs on the map and caller id.
Can someone verify that once using the official rom, play store and Google apps will be available?

The only way to install Play Store and Google apps is to root the phone. Unfortunately, there's no available rooting method yet for Galaxy I9502. But I'm hopeful that it will be available in the future. Like the Galaxy Note 2 GT-N7102 Dual Sim variant, a working rooting procedure was eventually made available.

Based on offical specs, I'm very sure an unlocked SGS4 I9502 will work in my country and Europe too.
Here's why:
SGS4 I9502 Supported Network Frequency:
WCDMA 850/900/1,900/2100MHz
GSM 850/900/1,800/1900MHz
GSM Coverage:
GSM 900 / GSM 1800 MHz are used in most parts of the world: Europe, Asia, Australia, Middle East, Africa.

Band II (W-CDMA 1900) in North America and South America (ITU Region 2).

Band V (W-CDMA 850) in Australia (Telstra NextG, Vodafone), Hong Kong (SmarTone), Thailand (True move and DTAC), New Zealand (XT Mobile Network), Brazil, Canada, the USA, Guatemala, Costa Rica, Nicaragua, Dominican Republic (Claro),Venezuela, other parts of South America, Israel (Pelephone,[4] Cellcom[5]), parts of Asia (ITU Region 2 and ITU Region 3), Poland (Sferia)

I bought mine in China and used it with China Mobile and my US T-Mobile SIM cards installed at the same time. When I landed back on US soil, it automatically switched to use my T-Mobile SIM. I haven't had any problems so far.
Does that mean you have Google apps and play store?

If you want to:
-Pay 200 dollars more expensive(import tax + local seller commission)
-Have a bigger size(korea version is thicker than us one) and have stupid korea restriction(sms limitation, etc...)

Unfortunately in my area there isn't LTE or real 4G.
I was able to tweak my network settings with SKT Hidden Menu so I'm receiving the best 3G (4Mbps/500kbps) for my area.
I should have waited before buying. The Google clean S4 version would have been a better choice.

Thanks for sharing your experience. Too bad we still don't have the answer since not very many people have the Korean S4 in the US. When I get an S4 I'm planning to use it for VOIP on LTE. I've read that LTE has lower latency than HSPS+(or whatever that is) which makes VOIP phone calls acceptable in terms of lag time.

I saw this on ebay as well and the seller was saying it's an "America's" version (North, Central, South). Does the L stand for Latin as in Latin America? I searched several of Samsung's Latin American websites but found no results for this model ID. It says it's octa core and full HD super amoled. No 4G LTE though according to their specs which is in keeping with the i9500 specs (I think?). If this really is a i9500 than it's a good deal. I'm half persuaded to get one to see.
Is there anybody out there? Are we the only two people on xda who've noticed this phone? Somebody please throw us a bone.
Galaxy S4 Value Edition (Latin) (GT-I9515L), that's the only variant with L in the name...
Usually Samsung's Snapdragon version in Hong Kong or China have unlocked Bootloader and therefore should be able to get TWRP without too much problem. (That' the case of the S7 Snapdragon for instance: https://forum.xda-developers.com/s7...ecovery-official-twrp-galaxy-s7-edge-t3458589 )
I own the S8+ 6Gb HK version. I haven't found anybody working on it (On Chinese forums they seem to be checking regularly... xda forums ) but the user base is decently big and given the fact it was achieved previously for the S7 I was wondering if anybody would be ready to work on it? (if not started already).
If no one with the skillset is around, we could eventually team up for a bounty thread (With an unlocked bootloader the task shouldn't be a massive job)
Any people interested?

Unfortunately I have also SM-G9550 Chinese version. seems no developer shows any interest in this version to work on
the problem is most of the Chinese doesn't speak English so probably very few Chinese are here on Xda.

True but there are also a few active forums in China for the S8/S8+. The other point being some of the HK devs speak decently good English

For people who are using the HK versions (G9550) in the UK, what problems are you facing in the normal day-to-day running?
I've been told that VoLTE and Wifi Calling do not work when using in the UK. Is this the case? What other "problems" or limitations are there on using the HK version in UK? How about samsung pay or android pay?
I ask because I'm seriously considering buying the 128GB/6GB version.

pretty much only volte and wifi calling not working and also not working with LTE-A/carrier aggregration also known as 4G+
android pay works fine, samsung pay doesnt connect to servers.
other than that works fine, software is behind the other variants .....
I also have the g9550 variant, software is really behind, does anyone have any recommendations to keep up?
Hello.

is it HK or CN?
It is an HK device and I got the update yesterday. Am I the only one who was ignoring the FM - AM capabilities of the S8+, even exclusively on this model ?

I would be interested by that TWRP, have a HongKong S9550 128/6 on AT&T got LTE and Visual voicemaill to work by registering my old IMEI with AT&T but no Samsung Pay and VoLTE
