[MIUI PORT]Huawei X5 - New releases - Huawei Ideos X5 U8800

Hi there
Well after some work , and lots of off-topic at the other MIUI port thread i've created this to share the rom's that i compiled.
For now i will leave there the MIUI 1.11.11 US version:
http://db.tt/uLDPbRGx
I've added to version 1.11.11:
-4way reboot menu;
-The fix released by stockwell for wi-fi problems
For what i've tested all things looks working great. But if you find something report that
FIX's:
WI-FI FIX's (Use only one)
http://www.multiupload.com/7PO141EV06 (flashes only wifi driver) 1
http://www.multiupload.com/ISU9575QZ3 (only wifi driver) 2
http://www.multiupload.com/IJJUC2F4ID (only wifi driver) 3
credit for Stockwell and Jacky444 for those fix's
CREDITS: To the great job of Stockwell.

Downloading will post reviews...... early
Last time when i tried that portugal update phone did not boot... i had to force fully go for firmware update.... hope it wont happen now.
Wifi not working with both fixes 1 & 3

Hello Darksage07 and nice work!
Can you share what was exactly the fix and what needs to be changed at the overlay for it to work?
Was it system/etc/firmware/wlan/qcom_cfg.ini ?

Some people report that the fix that stockwell have made works well , you have to get a little of luck to use the right fix from those i've shared .Because people says that the fix number two is working great and so that was the fix that i've used on this rom.

Installed nicely on top of 1.11.04, no errors so far.

Which one do i have to choose?? I think i'm using PT/En version.. Its with Turkish translation

@OzanSRC fix2 had work with me .

Wifi connects and disconnects continuously......

just flash this version.
soft key lights not working properly. looks like a sensor issue.
sometimes workes sometimes not.
and sometimes the the lioghts come up by themselves and then turn off again without I even touch the device.
Anyone else have same issue or my device is haunted?

I tried all of em but nothing changed.. I have issue with downloads. All downloads stopped at %1 or nearly %50 on market download and game data downloads

Hey TJ, glad to be of help.
This is great! Thanks so much, the only question I have is, do you know why messenger will force close when trying to get or send video or files?
Was trying to send a video and it crashed and some audio files for ringtones and it crashes.

You are right, I had not notice because I only tested MMS with pictures. Thanks for the feedback... I will look into it.
Edit: I did some testing and it seems to only crash in GB ROMs. The modded Mms.apk is from a Froyo ROM which leads me to think that it is a compatibility issue of some sort. Which ROM are you using?
hey thanks a lot endoki..i was a lil frustrated wen my mms wasnt working but thanks to u and ur research im glad that i can see pics and stuff..also same problem as others cant get audio files and video to download cant recive any luck on wats going on with that??? thanks again
!!!!!Wow, I was/am so excited to see this in the thread list!!!!!
Does this fix the data dropping issue too or just the MMS?
Looks like long SMS still isn't working, I'll just switch to handsent for that I suppose.
Is there a way to keep the gingerbread mms.apk if we decide we care more for the long sms functionality? Or could you possibly add it as an attachment?
Testing the data now..if it holds out I'll definitely be buying you a cup of Joe
Nope, there it went..I guess this is just for the MMS..do you have any ideas about the data dropping issue?
I'm running GSB 2.6, and data drop is rare for me. I have a pretty clean set up, not extra scripts or flashes aside from GSB, Gapps, and MetrOFF. On the rare occasion I do notice a data drop, enabling and disabling Airplane mode fixes it quickly.

You are much welcome! The modded Mms.apk included in the fix is from a Froyo ROM. I am thinking it is a compatibility issue with GB that is causing it to crash when loading audio/video files... this is pure speculation right now as I have yet to decompile it and explore further. I think it is time to mod a GB Mms.apk and make two separate fixes; one for GB and one for Froyo.

Sorry to bring your hopes down, but nothing yet on the data drop issue. The fix is just for MMS.
About the long SMS, I am looking into modding a GB Mms.apk and making two separate fixes; one for each ROM type, aiming to solve both, long SMS and audio/video loading issues. Meanwhile, I can make a version of the fix that does not include the Mms.apk if you guys want it.

endoki, awesome job brother. I figured since you were working on this, we didn't really need to do a separate rom and glad to see it's working out great this way so far.
If I was on cricket or metro I could be a lot more help. I'll just help supply roms along with the other devs, and you keep supplying the metro/cricket crowd with a means to make those roms work
Everyone wins!
Congrats again and thank you for the time you put into providing this work.

Just so people interested in compiling the sources know :
I wanted to compile sources.
repo did not work : you CAN'T use last python3, downgrade to python 2.7
make : you CAN'T use last make 2.82, downgrade to make 2.81
Java you CAN'T use last openjdk7, you CAN'T use opejdk6, downgrade to sun's java 6 SE
Perl : you CAN'T use perl 5.14, downgrade to perl 5.12...
maybe more, but I can't tell you, because I gave up from there....
come on... what the hell Google ?!

Maybe you could ask him for directions?
Because MarcellusBE tried but couldn't boot, if he could boot it, maybe he could also delete some of the bugs (since he had to do the same for CM&).
Also another question from me, did he port from Sources or from the SDK?
Because the things you explained reminded me of the ICS SDK port (No touchscreen working, no camera or wifi and the changing of the dpi(link to that thread here))

[CM7.x][Patch] improve GPS and Sensors

Here's a patch for CM7.X to improve GPS and Sensors.
The 'new' CM7.2 from vo-1 is IMHO the best CM7 we have. Only thing which disturbed me was the slow GPS. The PFGPS Tweaks by PFittech didn't really work for me. So i took a look at the GPS functions of Stock Samsung ROM to see what i can do. CM7 and Samsung use different ways to provide GPS funtions. While CM7 'directly' accesses the hardware, Samsung does it via a running daemon (/system/bin/gpsd'). Obviously this works much better than GPS functions provided by CM7. So i decided to try the Samsung GPS functions in CM7 which worked very well out of the box. I always have a GPS-Fix now in less than a minute. This required a complete replacement of HW libs provided by CM7. This worked without any problems. All Sensors (at least for me) are working. More than that, i personally have the feeling that everything is a little bit smoother and faster. But that maybe a 'Placebo'...
Anyway, here's the patch for those who want to try. What does it do ?
- it completely replaces the libs in /system/lib/hw with libs from Samsung STOCK ROM
- it installs 'gpsd' in /system/bin
- it installs a stock gps.conf in /etc
- it wipes your /data/gps directory to remove old xtra.bin files
Note: PFGPS doesn't work with this patch So if you've already flashed PFIttech's PFGPS tweaks, they will be uninstalled by my patch.
All necessary entries to start the daemon and prepare directories were already found in 'init.gt-s5830.rc' (..which is very strange because there isn't any /system/bin/gpsd in a standard CM7.X installation). I've tested my patch on a clean CM7.2 (vo-1) installation. But it should work on all CM7 variants.
Before flashing don't forget to create a CWM backup.
No need to wipe anything. Just flash via CWM 5.0.2.6
DOWNLOAD: http://www.4shared.com/zip/G6mCEPDh/cm7X_gpspatch.html
Please report here if it worked for you or if you find any problems...
ENJOY
Thanks... i wil try with "The End 2.0"
Nice =)
Will try it soon ...
Thanks
Working perfectly.
I had the PFGPS fix installed previously and still got no fix after installing the new libs.
But after reverting to Stock gps.conf I got a fix in less than 10 seconds.
No problems so far.
YESSS !!! i finally can use my gps on CM 7.2 thx to this patch , thx a million lagloose it really works and locking fast without flashing PFGPS or any other fix .....
Already found a way to get the stock gps.conf. Just extracted it from a flashable CM 7 zip. Really works great! Accuracy just out of my door around 6 meter within a few seconds!
Ok, some users have reported that the patch doesn't work with PFGPS installed. I'll update the patch later this evening so that a stock gps.conf will be flashed and installed...

thanks for the patch, I'll download and have a go soon with mireo and ndrive. I also absolutely agree that vo-1's rom is by far the best CM7 so far even though I am not running the updated version due to some issues that I have with CWM5 (my opinion is that version 4 is stable, while version 5 causes my sd-ext to dissapear) ---> so using vo-1's previous version).

yes, works great! get a lock in a few seconds. First fix that really worked for me.
The only feeling i have is that this GPS config has less aggressive settings. If i take one step outside the connection is great and i get locked in 5 sec. Inside though, it can't find anything. My old GPS settings managed to get a signal to a few satellites although the lock took long. Maybe we can try to find improved settings to make it even quicker?

[ROM] Unofficial CyanogenMod 9 [BLECM9 0.02]

Current status: CM10.1 in the works and this version will not be updated.
Got started with the project in January, I'm now ready to present you my first custom ROM (and kernel) - BLECM9!
First of all - BACKUP! This is not stable for everyday use just yet.
It also includes my own kernel, based on the latest CAF source code (ics_chocolate). The kernel gets frequent updates from CAF and me. Kernel version is 3.0.8. It's not as stable in the beginning but a better choice in the long term.
It won't include Google Apps, you need to manually install gapps package, as any other CM rom is by default.
Prequisites
U8800 upgraded to 2.3
ClockworkMod Recovery v5.5.0.4, not tested in v5.0.2.7
Instructions for Installing
Download the latest version of BLECM9 (Downloads below).
Copy the package to your internal/external SD card.
Reboot to recovery.
Flash the update package.
Optional: Install Gapps package (Downloads below).
Reboot and wait. The first boot takes around 2 minutes.
Downloads
My Google Code Page
Google Apps @ goo.im
Additional Notes
Report issues.
Changelog.
No, this won't work on U8800-51 or U8800Pro.
Atmel TS users, 0.02 will not work for you. I am establishing a new driver, to make the driver standard. Please standby as this is my top priority.
Everybody, send me logs if something does not work. This kernel is under heavy development. On computer with ADB set up: "adb shell dmesg > dmesg.log" and send the dmesg.log
Major Bugs
No Atmel TS support.
RIL issues (does not detect all SIMs)
NT35510 seems to have issues when turning on the screen (confirm?)
Unstable backlight on low values.
Wifi MAC address is 00:11:22:33:44:55
No Camera.
No Bluetooth.
No FM radio.
No audio (except ringtone/alarm)
Sometimes glitchy hardware acceleration.
No sensors.

Great! Been waiting for CM9 a long time ago too... Blefish, you should post some rules as to what we should and how to post in this thread, maybe instructions on how to post specific logs and what kind of info you need. The rest of the discussion should be posted in the general section. I would really hate for this thread to become a mess like Aurora's...

I flashed 0.02, touchscreen didn't work. Then flashed Atmel-test2, touchscreen still doesn't work. Also phone reboots randomly.
I suggest to all of you interested helping Blefish, follow him on Twitter.
For those who tried Atmel-test-2-signed.zip

[How To] Fix Wifi Problems in Aurora

Okay, I been using Wifi a lot lately, and as other people.. in Aurora I been facing Wifi getting "stuck" it just grays out.. and there won't be an actual connection... so, I did research and I installed WiFix Manager
Simple Instructions
Download and install application - WiFix Manager
Give root permission
Click Advanced Configurations and enter your country code (instead of US) - Find your code here or here
Click Change Country Code
Click Check For Updates
Click Install WiFix
Restart phone and you are done
I been testing this for 3 days, I left wifi on for hours and even overnight. Before when I wake up in the morning it would always be greyed out.. now it's always nice blue reception! Let me know if this fixes it for you and if it does and we get positive feedback maybe we can convince dzo to implement this fix into his ROM.
FYI, I am using 4.1a, but I don't see why it would not work in later versions.
Wifix
I get way higher speeds in Aurora ICS 5.0 when using this app, it reminds me of the difference when i installed an Elora wifi-fix on an earlier version of Aurora.
My main problem in 5.0 is the touch screen problems, even after dzo's updates.
have you tried to replace the 1 wifi conf file for an older version?
I know that this fixed some wifi issues for many people including me. I can't remember the file name but it can be found in one the aurora thread in this section, I think.
I you want to try I can look further

I think this might be the one (refered to in Dzo's Aurora ICS for u8800 - General Discussion thread), but it has some issues. Disconnect and 3g doesn't turn on auto while out of range. If you have other tips, please tell.
