am creating my own battery % for sense 3.5 roms. I have been able to update the framework-res.apk file with the necessary images and xml files.
I am trying to learn how to edit the systemui.apk file, but I dont know what the dependencies are.
Could anybody give me a hand?
Any ideas on how to mod the systemui.apk file?
Maybe for HTC roms it is com.htc.resources.apk?
Edit: Or rosie?
The battery mods I have seen for sense roms come with a systemui.apk and the framework-res.apk file. If I try to mod the framework-res.apk file on its own like I have done for osap roms it does not work, but if I add the systemui.apk file the battery works.
The problem is you have to use the systemui.apk file from that rom. If you try to use one from another rom I get a lot of system process not responding errorrs. I am just not sure what is modified on the system.apk file.
Just a suggestion: upload needed files to UOT Kitchen and just make a battery mod. Then U can compare your orig. files with these you've downloaded from UOT.
Maybe this will help you.

iv been looking but cant figure it out, no one gives instructions on how to use there deodex tools
Download AvaboxV2 Here
Unzip the download somewhere, open up the 'De-odexer' and view the readme.
I think you just put the apk and odex file inside the "de-odexer" folder and double-click the ''deodexall.bat" or "deall.bat", something along those lines.
Can't check right now since I'm on my phone
i down loaded an used but its not creating a Classes.dex

AvaboxV2 won't do that, it will take both the APPNAME.apk & APPNAME.odex files and make it into a single de-odexed APPNAME.apk
If you want the classes.dex file check out smali tools I believe that should do it for you. It may decompile as out.dex, if it does just rename it back to classes.dex
Edit: instructions for it are HERE
I think apk manager will let you deodex files as well.... I think....

attach the apk and the odex files in a zip so I can download them. when I have time I'll see if I can get the classes.dex file for you and let you know what I did to get it

Hi Guys,
Is it possible to change the colour of the selection colour in Stock Android (I think it's already Green in Sense Roms)? But in Stock it's Orange, I want to know if there's a way to change it to Green?
I'm guessing i just need to alter a colour code in some xml file somewhere but absolutely no idea where to start looking!
Cheers
Paul
Its in the framework-res.apk in the /system/framework folder. There are png files that you need to edit.
Use APK Manager 4.9 to decompile the file, then edit with Photoshop and compile the file again.
Make a flashable CWM zip file and flash it.
Search on the board for the how-to's.

Cheers Brain - Exactly what i was after! I'll give this a go this evening!
Well...if you succeeded, would you mind sharing it with us? Thats one thing im searching for since using gingerbread.
I cooked a battery icon only using UOT Kitchen and tried flashing it and said the installation failed. I used both the framework-res.apk and systemui.apk in cooking the file that is rom the current nightly I am using (CM7 nightly 8), as instructed on the UOT Kitchen website. I find it weird that I was able to use a UOT Kitchen cooked file on all CM7 nightlies BEFORE RC1...now after, they do not work with any of the nightlies (I've tried with 3 seperate ones).
Any suggestions? I read 1 post (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=968661) where someone said it had to do with both the framework-res.apk and systemui.apk files being odexed. If that's the problem, why would they not be odexed before RC1, but odexed after?
Update: I even tried adb pushing both the systemui.apk and framework-res.apk files to the rom and it would boot correctly, then restart 10 seconds later...so no go there either.
Still no takers?
Hello,
I'm facing a problem where I'm unable to apply UOT themes on my Gingerbread/Sense rom . I'm currently running InsertCoin CM7/A2SD+ v02, and extracted the framework_res, as well as SystemUI from the ZIP but still I cant get it to work.
No matter what I try nothing changes. Can anyone help me?
What's going wrong exactly?
EDIT: When you've chosen the stuff you want, check the Summary area and make sure there are no red boxes indicating something is incompatible/wrong

if you cook framework and systemui - it means you changing system theme. So after flashing UOT, select "System" theme in ThemeChooser.

unzip your ROM and put
-SystemUI.apk from the app_s folder
-framework-res.apk from the framework_s folder
from the unzipped ROM
load this 2 files in "UOT File upload" up
then cooked your file and download it.
download this file h ttp://dl.dropbox.com/u/18354786/black_circle-bat_flying.zip
then unzip your kitchen file and black_circle-bat_flying.zip.
put your kitchen SystemUI.apk and framework-res.apk.
copy this files in to the follow dirs:
-SystemUI.apk to the black_circle-bat_flying/app_s folder
-framework-res.apk to the black_circle-bat_flying/framework_s folder
then zip it, now you can flash this file in recovery.
the black_circle-bat_flying.zip works with InsertCoin CM7/A2SD+ v03 data++ version.
i have used the installscript from alexdiaz themediazGingerMix7.
i hope its allowed to use this script, if not ok then i delete the zip.
Sorry for my bad english
for gingerbread roms you need 3 files. the other one is com.htc.resources.apk
u need to upload the com.htc.resource file as well to make the theme work,
I am on insertcoin v0.8, everything works great, very smooth
Hi, I found this awesome battery icon but it is for SGY, it flashes the framework-res.apk but is it gonna work with SGY Duos?
no - just extract the pngs and copy to your framework
note it has to be on a like for like basis so if your framework doesnt have 1% battery pngs (it only has about a quarter of what a 1% pack has) then you will also have to mod the xml files too
Therefore you will have to decompile framework-res.apk with apktool
copy all the battery pngs and you will also have to copy the following xml files from the drawable folder
stat_sys_battery.xml
stat_sys_battery_charge.xml
