CyanogemMod not support xperia X8 officially, but soon will be here (I hope)
There is a CM7 for X8:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=914513
But it's a nightly release.. I guess a stable or maybe an RC is still so far.. so good..
The CyanogenMod and FreeXperia team is happy to announce CyanogenMod support for multiple Xperia™ devices.
Users of Sony Ericsson devices have been left out of the CyanogenMod experience for a while now. We are happy to announce that users will be able to enjoy a full-fledged CyanogenMod with nearly full hardware support (we are still working on FM radio) starting in our next release. You can also expect nightly builds and more instructions soon.
Supported XPERIA™ handsets:
2010 phones:
- Xperia X10
- Xperia X8
- Xperia X10 Mini
- Xperia X10 Mini Pro
2011 phones:
- Xperia Arc
- Xperia Neo
- Xperia Mini
- Xperia Mini Pro
- Xperia Play
- Xperia Ray

Andreas Makris (Bin4ry), Diogo Ferreira (defer) and Alin Jerpelea (jerpelea, FXP) will be maintaining these devices from now on.
We would like to stress that work on the 2011 lineup would not have been possible without the strong involvement of Sony Ericsson with the developer community. In addition to providing unlockable bootloaders to all new devices, they provided us both with devices and technical expertise that proved invaluable in making all this happen.

So it's true....
Now we wait!
Good news

i cant wait! good job cyanogen and freeXperia team...
This is great news! Cant wait for their 1st native x8 release
Sent from my X8 using XDA App
OH
oh finaly something awesome... without any bugs OR BATTERY eating roms!
Guys, come and say thank to jerpelea (or FXP) and FreeXperia Team, or buy them some beers. He's been working very hard to be able to merge our Xperia series to CM.
It is still early in development, so many things still need to be done before our nightlies can be officially built.
Whats the advantage of this?

uhm. we will get our own nightly build? I think so.
This is a good news for everyone, wew.. haha...
Hope this will keep running and "WISHING GET A ICE CREAM SANDWICH because i want it" haha... Keep waiting.... (But why the blogs of cyanogenmod doesn't update our phone??)
have you read the post from the link ?
"you may be interested in knowing that the upcoming CyanogenMod release will feature support for 10 new devices"
just wait for the release
whats the diference between CM and gingerDX? does it have more stuff? faster? batterybug-less? or is it just a great news because it means better support for ours X8s?
Upcoming? 7.2 or earlier? Cant wait
yes some one please tell me the advantages of this?
does this mean a fully stable cm7 rom?
it meens more advanced developers working together to make there own CM version
If I understood dx well, our FXP's rom will be officially supported by CyanogenMod and will get all the official updates as soon as possible.
Or CyanogenMod devs and FXP will build it together?
Anyway, great news and be patient... we have everything now
Sorry for the noob question, but I can't perfectly understand...
What to mean "official"? Its a CM7 upgrade from Cyanogenmod, and its a "Custom" ROM? Or CM team works together with SE, and everyone can upgrade to CM7 with the SE PC Companion?
(I think ist a Cyanogen upgrade...)
Wow, it keeps on getting better for us

I'm sure many here will not see this as a "bad bad bad news". Having an official lollipop firmware in a 2.5 old device is more than anyone could ask for. Having a solid 5.1.1 build is better than having the latest build.
More than happy with the support from SONY,and more than enough to stay on the ship

This is a bad news bcz there are many people have a( locked bootloared allowed no) so there is no custum rom based at cyanogenmod or any other custom rom ...there are just custom rom based at stock rom..so in the futur for the bootloared allowed no there are no update no officiel or any custom

Bad news for us....but it waz expected.
Cherish to sony for long support to our old device.Better than other OEMs.
Yea 5.1.1 was the best build i agree.
But i hope(i know they will) our rom devs will port android 6.0 from other xperia devices getting dat version.Kudos to sony and our rom devs.:good::good:

I agree with you i hope our best dev make a stock rom for z and z1 based at android 6.0 for LB and UB
Creating Android M for LBL is not possible bcoz it'll need custom kernel. I think our devs'll give some test builds on next 1-2 weeks, AOSP code'll be published in 2-3 days

I'm not surprised. It's fantastic that we even got 5.1, the Z is so old now. All good things come to an end
But what I am wondering, if someone will port 6.0 AOSP... Not CyanogenMod or other forks, they are always unstable and breaking things. And will take a long time anyway.
Sent from Xperia Z via Tapatalk
I'm very happy with the updates we have had and hope that I get 2.5 years of updates on my Z5 most people would have upgraded by now anyway however if I didn't have a phone I would happily purchase the XZ. It's been a damm good phone even with a locked bootloader.

the bootloader is directly connected to the TA Partition and every phone has a unique one so its impossible to change from yes to no
Chasmodo has already said that he wont support marshmallow on Dirtyunicorn for Xperia Z.
If people were expecting Sony to support Xperia Z for as long as they own the device then they were dreaming.
We have a stable 5.1.1 be happy. The device is more than 2.5 years old....
