ROM Manager's Recovery is "temporary". The one which you can access using Vol Down + Power is your actual recovery. Probably Unrevoked didn't work, or you changed to Custom Recovery after it started doing its thing. Also, I assume you are using the IMG file in Unrevoked's Custom Recovery Option.

[Q][Q]Phone not using clockwork recovery[Q][Q]

i can only boot into clockwork mod recovery using the standard 3 button method. When i use Rom manager or Root manager to go into recovery it takes me into stock android recovery, does anyone know why?
also my epic will not let me flash noobln's rom, it says the file is messed up despite downloading several time?? however I was able to flash the boss rom.
Sounds like you lost your root.
Mine does the same thing concerning using rom manager to boot into recovery. Have to manually boot into recovery. Root is fine though.

It looks like you used noobnl one click to install the CWM recovery to blm8- if you also want rom manager support you need a kernel that supports it on bml7- you can flash that via the CWM- if you search you will find a stock kernel that has CWM support along with several other roms

I don't have it flashed but the latest mixup lists rom manager support- what happens when you try to boot into recovery via rom manager- do you get an "unsigned error"?

Yep i get the unsigned error but using the manual method works. Im reading its because i used the 1 click clockwork method. I used noobnls newest final clockwork.
When i did it koushs way it would work with rom manager.

I might not be understanding your post correctly but I have both methods working - I can manually boot into CWM via three button and also get to CWM via root manager- I used noobnls final and then used it to flash koushs kernel

Sorry. I am running stock rom. Mixup kernal on top of it with rom manager support. Then have noobnls clockwork flashed on top of mixup kernel.
Last week i went back to stock. I rooted then installed the hacked clockwork then installed koushs kernel to get permanent clockwork and it worked from rom manager as well as the three button way. I then flashed mixup over koushs kernel and that's when it quit working from rom manager.
I am wondering if i can reflash koushs kernel and then mixup because before when i did it mixup didn't support clockwork. I didn't flash koushs way on my new epic.
So basically i would have done this.
Noobnls one click with rom manager and fixed su> koushs kernel> mixup kernel????

I dont understand but Ill try
Mixup Supports clockwork and rom manager so using market download it and install clockwork recovery.
If you ever have to boot into either STOCK recovery or the THREE FINGER clockwork RECOVERY METHOD.
Navigate to INSTALL UPDATE.ZIP select and you will now be in the proper clockwork recovery
REMEMBER ALWAYS BACKUP

yeah Same happens to me using Switch pro widget. This new version 1.9 has the ability to reboot to recovery.. everytime I rebooted into recovery, it brought me to stock recovery. Seems like the clock work kept failing to delete the stock recovery, but if I press and hold volume down, on/off and camera it boots into clockwork recovery.

yeah apparently with the epic, they are still working out the kinks, i got Rom manager functioning correctly, but Root manager still boots into stock recovery. im guessing the devs of these apps will eventually fix this

From my limited understanding the epic has two recovery locations- one (bml8) is accessed through the 3 button push. The other (bml7) is accessed through adb reboot recovery or rom manager. Use noobnl CWM installer to install to bml8. To use rom manager (to place CWM on bml7) your kernel must support it (i.e. you have to flash to something else other than the stock kernel). hope that makes sense!
In some senses this is nice- if your rom gets messed up you can still access the recovery via the 3 button push
Also before you use rom manager for the first time make sure there is no "update.zip" on the root of your sdcard

Epic wont boot into clockwork

Ok so I boughtmy phone today and I rooted. I ran rommanager and flashed clockwork recovery and downloaded a froyo rom and went into rommanager and clicked install rom in rmmanger. I chose the .zip and clicked wipe data and cache. It reboots and goes to stock recovery. It won't boot into Clockwork I tried many different root methods but nothing works. Any help would be apreciated.

rom manager is not supported by the stock kernel- to use clockwork you need to use the one click on the dev forum
Can you use the Z4 method?

Happened to me too. Once you install Clockwork Recovery with Rom manager, turn off phone, then turn it on but hold the vol down and camera buttons until the samsung.com screen. Then viola Clockwork recovery.
Basically I got both recoveries on here after using the one click method. All apps that reboot into recovery goto stock which I do need a fix for.

What do I name It to flash through bootloader
Evo 4G
Cyanogenmod 7
I put the zip file and install it automatic with bootloader, very easy.
http://goo-inside.me/amon_ra/supersonic/PC36IMG.zip
Drop that file on your sdcard, don't rename it or anything, and just boot into the bootloader. It'll ask if you want to apply the update, so pick yes. Ta-da!
did you follow the instructions for flashing Amon or are you trying to do it thru the software. Best bet is to do it thru bootloader like suggested

Make sure rom manager is up to date. A recent version had this problem.

Put this file on the root of your SD card....
Hold Power button and down volume, Bootloader will autodetect and ask if you want to apply the update. Say yes, then reboot into recovery.
You should have a good copy of AMON RA 2.3 BTW...the screen tears are normal.

[Q] No Recovery after Bootloader Unlock?(!)

ok so i used TowelRoot to root the phone, then the Motopacolypse apk to unlock bootloader. Root is fine, and iget the "unlocked bootloader warning" screen everytime i turn on my phone. next step would be to install recovery so i can flash ROMs right? downloaded ROM manager, dled and installed CWM, but i cant restart into recovery. i used ROM Managers option, and i just a normal boot. I try holding down the power + volume down button, and i still get a normal boot. any clue on whats going on?
Give holding power and both + - volume controls all at once to boot into the boot loader. From there press - to select recovery option and press + to go into recovery. That should get you there if the recovery indeed flashed.

The recovery you flashed isn't compatible with the M more the likely... Try these ...twrp for KitKat second from the bottom.... Try flashing the recovery with rashr ... Give me a second I'll find CWM

TWR is the only one that (finally) worked for me. THANKS
TWRP and CWM are not official for this phone, that's why you can't load them up through ROM Manager. Either way, nice to see you have it working now.
i just flashed TWRP successfully using Flashify (plya store) and TWRP 2710 for razrM from Dhacker.
total time to download install and flash - about 2 minutes
