[Q] Automute sound when receiving Skype Call - Eee Pad Transformer General

I'm trying to set up Skype on my ASUS TF101 or my wife. It is rooted running Android Revolution HD 2.1.1. The thing I'm trying to figure out is how to have the tab auto-mute the music, video etc when I receive a Skype call. Many music players run in the background and its a bit of a pain to try and answer the call and bring up the music player to either stop or mute it. Any assist would be greatly appreciated

Sounds like something tasker might be able to do.

Thanks I will give this a shot.

HELP...Volume not working

Well I installed a couple of programs today, and it seemed like everything was working fine, then all of a sudden I realize I have no volume on my Media player, youtube player, etc. The phone rings, I can talk to people, but there is no sound. Even when I go to try to change my ring tone, and preview it, it's not playing, yet when someone calls it does. Someone please tell me it's an easy fix.
Here is what I installed on the phone today
Inesoft Address book and Cyberon Voice Command

Video Ringtones

So here I am thinking I have the best phone on the market and come to find out that my sister's LG Lotus can actually play videos when someone calls her.
A little video on the front of her phone plays when someone calls her and she has different videos set for everyone that calls her. But she's complaining that she can't set individual ringtones for each person's text message.
The G1 can do that with ringo pro so why not videos?
I'm sure there is way to make the G1 do it anybody have any idea?
Why don't you e-mail the devs of Ringo pro and suggest this as a feature. I assume that they currently interupt the nomal ringing process to check who is ringing and play the assosiated tone so it wouldn't be a big step to play a video instead.
Personally, I'd rather drink vomit then have that on my phone, but hey

I agree.
I use to have a Nokia flip phone that use to play videos as ringtones. Cannot remember which one, but it was free when I first signed up for t-moble. It's one of those things that if you had, you wouldn't use it. (Unless your a 15 year old girl)

ParanoidAndroid and Skype incompatible?

Hi, I just today installed ParanoidAndroid. I use Skype to play various pc games, and having a slow computer, I use Skype on my Nexus 7. However, with the ROM, you cannot hear what other people are saying in a call. They can hear you and each other, but you cannot hear them. Also, every other sound worked both in Skype itself (ex logging in sound and ringtone) and in all of my other apps. If anyone knows something that I could try, that would be terrific!
Also, I've tried both the newest update of skype and the Amazon download, as well as oovoo, getting identical results.

How to stop Spotify pausing when receiving a notification?

Hi all,
Anyone happen to know how to stop Spotify from stopping playback for a second when a notification comes in from another app with Android 4.2?
Cheers!
That's a feature but some apps lower the volume for a second then raise it again while others pause.

So is there no way around it?

Probably an obvious solution, but you can always kill notification sounds and just have it vibrate as an alert. Spotify shouldn't pause.
I have also always been annoyed by this. The apps playing the notification sound are the ones that determine if the music is paused or not right? I know that Chomp SMS has an option to NOT play notifications when playing music. So apps know when music is playing and can avoid the interruption.
I haven't seen other apps with that option, at least not the others I commonly use. So what I do is I have notifications disabled for most of my apps, but I like to know when I get a Gmail message, and Gmail will always pause my music (unless I set the phone to vibrate) which I don't like.
The main problem is when I stream music to my little Belkin audio gateway at home. If I set it on vibrate/silent, I can't hear the phone ring because the ringtone does not play through the A2DP music profile. I don't always have the phone with me because my range is limited (can't wait for a miracast affordable streaming audio solution).
I would love the music volume to be lowered while the notification plays, and then restore volume when it's over. Is there a ROM that does this? I know I used some ROMs on my EVO that did it, but don't know if there's a Nexus 4 ROM that will do the same.
I did set up a task with Automateit to set the phone to vibrate when Spotify is open. I think it will only do that when music is playing and not if the app is running in the background, but when downloading a playlist, it will do the same. Tasker probably has a better trigger so that it does this when music is playing, but I didn't want to pay the $7 for it today.
Shush! is another option if you know how long you will be listening to music, you can tell Shush to turn your ringer back on after an hour, but it's still not perfect.

which spotify or whatsapp im wondering whos going to get my strongly worded email?
I know on some ROMs, like paranoid, you can revoke specific privileges and permissions for each app. Could we remove Spotify's ability to know the phones notification state?

audio help

I play asphalt 9 on my phone while listening to YouTube prime in the background. Issue is if I need to watch a ad it stops YouTube. Anyway to completely silence a app? I know I can disable notifications but how about audio?
Sound assistant from Samsung did the trick. You can forever silent a app and also make an app keep playing audio no matter what other program you open over it.
