no problem
I have not been able to get Kernel Manager Free to download the kernel. Do I need the paid version to gain access to this kernel?
Also, I used to use SZ 1.01 and it had "wimax" in the file name. The new kernels do not, is the wimax support still there?
No, just download the attachments.
You can also get it thru Rom Manager>Download Rom.

Hey, so I couldn't find this in the search!
I finally got rooted and installed cyanogen rc3 via rom manager. Now I want to get Arabic support, does anyone know how to do this? I am leaving for the middle east on Sunday so please help ASAP!
And also is it worth it to overclock the mytouch4g for a noob like me?

Actually overclocking can be done from within the performance settings in cyanogen. No kernel needed.
[sent via Cyanogen powered Android]
I found this:
vrami.net/?p=635
Which tells me I need to flash the Arabic and it gives a zipfile, this is for cyanogen. How do I flash the arabic zip file? Do I put the zipfile onto my SD card, then reboot the phone while holding the volume down button and select flash from sdcard, etc etc?
Thanks

To flash the .zip you need to boot into recovery > install .zip from sdcard > let me choose > pick the .zip and flash it.
make sure to do a Nandroid back up first.

you are correct on that end. SetCPU does allow for a wider arrange of options. However personally i found that when i cut the CPU down when the screen was of killed my battery. I get much better life not using it.
I see the Google+ app in the marketplace but when I click it there is no button to install it. Using Faux 1.2.7 with his latest kernel 1.07. Anyone know the problem?

Either use ADB to install or Astro.

I'm running ICS but I had the same problem with GB. Whenever I try downloading a file in the browser it adds it to the download list with the name "<Untitled>" and stays "In progress" forever. Anyone else have this problem and/or know how to fix it?
Also, I just noticed T-Mobile is DNS hijacking. When did they start doing that?!

Same issue.
Nexus s 4g.
Peter Alfonso 12-12-11 build. (Might be this) (or ics in general)
Stock kernel

I almost forgot.
I edited my build prop in an attempt to speed up network speeds. So there's another thing that might be the root cause

go to manage apps, all, download manager and clear its data. that should fix it.
Already tried clearing data, didn't help. I'm running rooted stock ICS but it started happening when I was still on GB.
Sometimes the file is too big and wifi is needed. If you're near a wifi connection connect to it and try if it downloads. I think there is an option where you download big files only when you are on a wifi connection

Hey there, since J.Y.Daddy doesn't support this device any more, so, I pick up his job, and make this firmware for us, based on Cronosx1.7.0 from jydaddy thread. It is a very smooth and stable rom.
Log:
2012-4-26 Fix reboot to recovery; All notification can blink the media-led now; More stable(no overclock by default)
2012-3-4 Fix fm radio volume, again, smart dial, call card phone location, mms application.
2012-3-1 HD video recorder works now. Upload sensor patch for MotoRoi
2012-2-29 Fmradio update
Download(RC2.1 version)
Mirror
MotoRoi sensor patch(apply at last)
Patch area(for beta version, RC1 doesn't need them):
Download HDrecord update(Fix hd video record)
Download FMradio update(Optimized Volume-Adjust)
For milestone XT720(Android2.3.7)
With moto's gallery, camera and videoplayer, HDMI shoud work(need feedback).
Installing instructions:
Install milestone default 2.1 rom(Russian, CBW, Singapore, whatever);
Root it with androot or superoneclickroot.
Install last openrecovery build from Mioze7Ae.
Download update, put it to /sdcard/openrecovery/updates and update it in openrecovery.
Special for MotoRoi user: apply sensor patch at last.

There is a Moto latin keyboard inside package
I had no problem with Keyboard. By the way this ROM must be flashed over fresh 2.1 SBF there is no other way around it. If you have any kind of bugs and you didn't RSD SBF then that is most likely your reason. I think all ROM's that are flashed as an OpenRecovery update are this way.
thanks for the rom, installed.
a bug with FM radio, can't control its volume, any fix?

You need to change to English language to use moto latin keyboard, then install other keyboard for your self.
Anyone can confirm if HDMI really works?
Thanks
Thanks a lot Brianlili!
But some questions Is it the same than J Y Daddy's one??? Do you add some tweak?? Which ones???
Do you test it in everyday use?????

Add moto's stuff into the rom.
If I was going to install a custom ROM or Kernel, can it update OTA?
For example, if I downloaded Cyanogen mod 10.1 and Francos r17 kernel, is there a button in the settings somewhere to download the latest update once it's released?
Any other things I should do when I first turn it on?
Only ever used an iPhone before this, so no idea what I should be doing
Can I sync with iTunes?
I know where the folder in which iTunes stores music files is, but it would nice if it would sync with iTunes.
Lastly, any fun/useful apps?
Free or otherwise

having a custom recovery will cause OTA failures. to flash a custom kernel, you need a custom recovery.
