On the stock rom I got with the phone it was possible to switch between two different kcm's it seemed by a button on the HW keyboard. Is it possible to do it on the cm7 rom using an app/script or is it a rom related thing?
I currently just changed the kcm to include both languages but it's much less comfortable.

Just one simple problem on my new Vouge (sprint touch) I cannot get the word completion to function. I am on the latest stock ROM. I really like this function on my phone since I do a lot of emailing. I have it turned on in settings to come on after three letters.
Thanks in Advance

What keyboard are you using? Not all keyboards can do this.
The simple built in screen keyboard.
Thanks

Hi,
i upgrade my T-Mobile 3G Dash with the ROM (8-23-2009 HTC Snap Asia/Europe (Unbranded) ROM 1.19.707.2)
for Chinese language support. it can display Chinese properly.
but i got a problem for the keyboard:
as HTC snap has different keyboard layout as T-Mobile for numbers and symbols...
so it won't properly output the numbers, etc.
i don't know how to fix it.
is it anyway that i can change the layout? or somebody can help to make a Chinese ROM for T-Mobile Dash 3G?
Many thanks!
fix for keyboard layout issue
Hey there,
I faced the same problem with the latest Asian Rom (6.5) and it turned out all it needed was to overwrite the keymap, .txt, (search for it in this forum) file under /Windows. Use total commander to avoid access permission errors. That, however, does not solve the issue with the input method. The default IME is A4 and is based on the key layout of a snap. Guess we'll have to wait till HTC or someone proficient at coding to incorporate the correct key map into that IME.
Hope the above helps.

Hi all,
I'm new to the flashing rom thing but I flashed the latest energy rom for TP2 onto my tilt2. I just realized that the keyboard functions are considerably different since I flashed the new rom. I guess my device recognizes the keyboard as a Touch Pro 2 and not the Tilt 2 (AT&T) because the keys are mapped differently on the two devices. The TP2 has a row of numbers on top, while the Tilt 2 has the numbers accessible via the function key, and has symbols in place of the number row on the touch pro 2.
Is there a fix or a rom specifically for the tilt 2?
Yes, there is a fix, go back to the page where you downloaded the rom, and right under where you click to download the rom is another link labeled something like "addons and hotfixes". Click that, go to the hotfixes, and get the ATTKeybdfix.cab and once installed you'll be back to normal. Check out the addons too, you might find something you like
Will look for it, thanks
Update: Thanks it worked!

Hi guys,
i (and many others as far as i have read) encounter the follwing problems on the swypes integrated in the ROMS.
1. On Swype Version 3.9xxxx, like the one used in Miri's Rom 6.5x V10 for example, holding a key doesnt give you the optional symbol/number but results in a weird movement. And rarley it does work, but then you have to hold it for almost 2 seconds to react. I dont know if this i only related to the keyboards when changed to a language other than english but its a common bug reported here and on other platforms.
2. Using Swype (unknown version) from NRG Engery Rom (April 23th, 23xx) for example, skinned with the htc keyboard, every holdingkey function works flawlessly and response is pretty fast. But, you can only choose between english and spanish. I also tried a workaround with the other language databases, renaming and stuff but it doesnt work.
So, does anyone know a solution to get Swype to work flawlessly like in NRG's but with more languages like in Miris?
Hi
I have a rooted HTC Hero (from Telus, Canada)
I installed Villainrom 10.3.2, but I don't like Sense that much, so I tought of changing to a vanilla ROM. Especially, I would like to have the application "contact" instead of "people" and the vanilla google phone. I don't care that much about facebook integration and I don't tweet. I simply want something fast and usable.
I can't figure what the main differences between ezHero and VanillaEclair are? Which one is more popular? I saw there is also SuperHero which is supposed to be a mix of sense and vanilla.
Any recommendation?
I also have telus hero,i use ezhero, I've gone though them all, love vanilla roms this is the best I've come across... If you don't like android keyboard, swype and htc_ime keyboards can be found with a quick google search
Sent from my EzHero using XDA App
thanks
I tried it and it works well so far.
Only downside, when I select the French Canada locale, the keyboard is in AZERTY mode (as most French speakers use, but we in Canada use QWERTY).
But I don't know any ROM which has it fine, except the original canadian ROMs.
I found a workarround: install the anykeyboard app.
Next thing I would like to know, is there a way, when changing of ROM, to do not loose all my settings and installed apps?
I heard that ez hero is fabulous!
what is the most vanilla ROM? I prefer adding apps myself, most ROMS here seems to be really customized and it seems to add bugs.
