If a company like Mugen comes out with an Extended battery like they did for the S2, would you purchase it, not purchase it, or do you think it isn't necessary?

An extended battery to make the phone even bigger? no thanks...

I always have this in my bag with me when i know my phone is going to need a recharge:
http://www.energizerpowerpacks.com/au/products/xp4001/
better than a bulky phone
I've had this...
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0..._m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_r=0H4VE9S6N61AVK449HTZ
I prefer either an external USB battery or just carry a spare battery (when its available) depend on what I'm doing and where I'm going.
The good thing is that with the 'full' back the Note won't be ugly as death:
i.e. it'll be like this:
www.youtube.com/watch?v=mks7ubUi6Ik
That's very chunky though. I'd rather just keep an extra battery on me.
I used to keep one in the car and/or my wallet, if I was running low.
- Frank
the only saving grace from how big the Note is is how slim it is... take that away and it'll feel massive in your jeans.
but i do love extended batteries

It looks like a BRICK...
I would prefer to just purchase an additional 2500 mAh battery or two and keep them with me rather than use something which will just add bulk to the device. The Galaxy Note gets great battery life as it is without a larger extended battery.
I too would rather have a spare battery ready than have a bulkier battery. If there was a higher capacity battery that was the same size (like there is for the Nexus One) then I would buy that but I would niot want to increase the thickness of the phone with a thicker battery.

Hi All, i just bought Galaxy Note two days ago. it's bad of battery. i use GNote only in 4 hours then battery is empty. Any one have suggestion (tweaks) to improve GNote life time.
For extra battery, i use ZAGGsparq 2.0 Battery Charger (both for ipad/iphone/galaxynote)

4 hours? From full charge? That's not impossible of course, but for normal/light heavy usage is not normal at all.
What you use the phone in the 4 hours of usage?

Try Juicedefender Plus from the Android Market. Really helps and I get a full day with pretty heavy use.

Reason using only 4h is romkj4 not yet rooted, background apps is a lot. Light screen minimum, off gps, off gsm, on only wifi. But during 4h i'm factory reset note 3 times. Download, install and uninstall a lot apps. View HD video clips around 10 minutes. Thats all.

I get 35 hours on my note... Dont know why you would ever want a bigger battery for this phone.

The only thing I know of that could drain this thing in 4 hours is watching streaming video. I know mine will burn 15% battery in about 20 min.
i would find a 5000 mah model....... or just a samsung ORIGINAL battery at 3000mah.. with just 1mm more.........
like the galaxy s2.... with original 2000mah battery that DOES NOT CHANGE the real thickness of the phone( just add 1 or 2 mm if i remember correctrly).
so a 3000 mah ....with just 1mm more IS THE PERFECT SOLUTION

I didn't know they released the 2000mah battery. I would have paid a small fortune for that if it fit in the standard protective cases. Ya, 3000mah or a little more for the Note would be great.
I get just over 2 days with average use, good enough, I'm happy and see no need for a larger battery...

I always keep a backup battery in my wallet, heh. I bought the 1800mAh battery from htcexpress that is said to last longer than the original, and you don't need another back.
I have the 3500 battery (for about 6 weeks now) and I don't notice the bigger back. It actually makes the phone feel better in my hand. The extra battery life is great. I don't use any kind of case or screen protector anymore. The phoneis doing just fine.

Stop complaining about a bigger back if u havent actually felt it IN HAND. Bigger battery back feels GREAT and makes the phone more manly. As adam carolla would say "in 50 years we'll all be chicks"! (no to mention the black on white on black looks sooooo sweet on my white evo!
I switched back to my standard battery today and it was at 50% about a 1/3 through the day.
Yeah, the Sprint extended battery is great. It's a Li-Polymer.
Li-Polymer would be horrible with a device that requires much charging...
Was thinking about getting the Seidio Innocell 1600mAh Slim Extended Life Battery. Wanted to know if anyone thought it was worth it?
I just ordered mine last night after Froyo killed my battery life. I'll keep you updated how it works when I get it
Ok thanks, please do. Looking to get it for exact same reason.
100mah isn't worth getting another battery, IMO, unless you just want a second battery. that's such an insignificant amount of additional stored energy, I doubt you will see much improvement, unless your current battery was starting to fail.
just my 2 cents.
Just got my Seidio in the mail yesterday. It is slightly larger than the stock battery and the rear cover is a little tougher to get on. When I say tougher i mean you just have to move around the phone and snap in every section with your fingers. If you stare hard enough, you can see a slight bulge where the battery is. As far as the battery life, so far it's only been on a couple hours in the morning and does seem slightly better. It seems like it might be about 5% better than it was before. They also say that it should get a little better after 5-6 charges so we will see. I doubt I will see a huge increase, but when your battery sucks, every little bit helps
I got the seidio 3000mah battery and love it!! The back plate isn't bad at all (proportional wise) and it gives me a good 2 solid 10 hour days of heavy data/phone use without the need to charge.

I read in another forum that using a non-Motorola battery displays some kind of warning. I'd go with an original battery.

using a non-original battery could have detrimental effects on your phone. there was a discussion on this on the forum of another phone. using a non-original battery could lead to leaks and other problems which would eventually lead to the warranty of your phone being voided.
stick with original motorola products. yes the battery might be very underpowered, but its the safest bet to ensure the longevity of ur phone
With a non original battery, the battery indicator of your phone shows a interrogation symbol. Also, it does not charge with the phone charger.
Sorry my analphabet english xD
@Motorola Milestone 2
bp7x 2300mAh battery
I 'm using a non-original battery . The MOMAX and everything's good ,it feels just like the original one except for battery tempperature sensor. the temp is always 26 in celsius
I personally have used seidio for my milestone and it works like a charm, its the extended 2800mah one it really performs like it should and not like how a lot of people claim thats its way less than stock! It does not always read it correctly but a quick reboot fixes that, like 50% after reboot would usually be about 70-80%. They way i used to use my phone (light to moderate level) would last about 2-3 days but after the extended I got twice that and some more. Just make sure you get stuff from the original manufactures either way and don't go for deals at amazon or whatnot as those guys might be selling either defected or not proprely stored stuff. Batteries are critical components don't go cheap on them! And no, my phone has not been messed up or had any leaks or anything and I have this for about 3-4 months now. The original battery degraded in about 6months if you have to compare.
That sounds promising, does the battery need to be charged with an external charger? And does the milestone complain that you are not using the official bettery

reebooting your phone to get the exact picture also works on the standard battery. my question is, does the back part which houses the battery heat up when used? does the phone get hot during charging? do you need a new battery cover for it? and besides the longer usability, have you noticed any other performance issues on the phone?

Actually the rebooting to get the exact picture is not the same here, a jump to 20-30% on a stock battery? I don't think so. No I never encountered any odd behavior with the other battery. No getting extra hot during charge or use, get the typical little bit of heat while using 3G and browsing like mad but that would happen on the stock battery too. Battery cover for a 2800? of course, that stuff is huge! its protrudes like mad! a quick heads up though, the extended battery for the milestone 1 and 2 can use the same extended batteries. Don't know about the droid x though. Anyways, no performance issues, no heat while charging. The back covers supplied by these after market guys are not the best quality though so if you are someone who loves dropping phones and what not would recommed getting a spare back cover from the guys you get the batts from.

No, I use my original charger and no complains or warnings by the phone. Not on the milestone 1 at least. In fact some times i use my ipod's adapter so no big issue. And it charges at the same pace as the stock, additional 1 hour or whatever. restart the phone to getting a proper reading as it shows 100% but upon restart its 70-80% since only the stock level is charged. I hear this app called battery left does great for calibration.
ALSO a thing to note, I only know of Seidio and Mugen to be relialbe after market battery guys hence their hefty pricing at times. The others claiming to have bigger batteries have cheated people with stickers and what not and usually end up underperforming and degrading considerably faster than burning paper! I remember 1USD batteries for nokias back in the day good for a quick one time run i suppose but these 1USD guys are now selling them with a better branding for like 20-40 USD.
Anyways Sedio and Mugen have facebook profiles and keep people posted on the latest on devices usually there, although its kind of sad since seidio have not followed through promised products at times.

Cool but as I suggested try and get them off the manufactures themselves as I have noticed some people complaining when purchased via 3rd party retailers.
Also another bud of mine had picked up one for the Nexus one, that phones back cover is a full one unlike the moto's and he too can vouch for the products positive performance. Either ways also check out some reviews from amazon.com for peace of mind.

Wifi was on most of the time, I was using my phone for the usual things. Occasionally checking socialfeeds, engadget, xda every hour or so and internet browsing I played 10 minutes of angry bids. Updated some apps and downloaded a few new ones.
Overall not a significant increase in battery life maybe an hour or so more from what I am used to.

honestly, if they just put a 4000mAh in it, I wouldn't mind if it weren't replaceable. And I seriously doubt with the kind of perfomance/specs its gonna have, anyone would really mind the extra thickness either. Not to mention heft (cough, durability).
It's not how big the tank K is but how much less is sippped from the tank
Nexus 5 so battery is 75% if G2
But battery life on nexus 5 is far less than 75 percentage of G2 albeit having a smaller screen

it looks promising but i would take this article with a grain of salt. I want to see a article or a video with alot of apps and features turned on this reviewed. i believe that would be a real battery review
Still, LG hasn't outed official talk, standby, browsing and video playback times yet, so we can only guesstimate the battery life of the G3 to be pretty good, based on some tangential proof from improvised battery tests that are popping up.
First off, a prototype version of the phone has been put through its paces, and the phone lasted six and a half hours of video playback on a charge, as you can see from the screens on the right. That might seem average, but the test has been done at the screen's*maximumbrightness, which*LG officially pegs at 430 nits, instead of the usual 150 or 200 nits, so the result from standardized routines like our own battery test, are likely to be much higher.*
Also so the test was at basically 2× brightness of a normal screen. ... so at lower brightness it should do very well

I never said 3000mAh isnt enough, but 3500mAh would last longer and most people dont run around with an extra battery in their pocket even if they can. Saving 1-2 hours of work to replace a battery like in the G2 after 1-3 years isnt really that much.

Of course they did, but they are catering to the people who are stuck in the old days when smartphones didnt last as long and batteries died much faster. Sure batteries degrade still, but if they hold longer between the charges and with more improvment it would be years between needing to change it. LG did the right thing with G2, but people arent smart enough to see it, so LG had to go back to the old ways to win the heart of the stuck.

Okay, what I'm saying is if they have thought then it'll make no sense for that regard. If so, then the 3000mAh batt along with their Optimization makes it enough to have that battery.
Like for example, there are different desktop power supplies but some of them are different quality. A 3 star 1200w quality desktop supply could be equivalent to a 5 star 800w quality supply.
I'm really excited for this as my phones are usually hungry for power. And now they finally have a date. Can't wait.

zerolemon is a huge battery for all kinds of phones. I think thegalaxy s3 was like 7500mah
Whyyy?? For me this 3000mh battety is just fine! I get 4 hours screen on time.. Like 7500mah battery is way too big! I like this slim phone
They also make standard sized batteries if you just want extra. Which I do. Their extended batteries with cases are the most hideous things.
Some people don't have the chance of recharging their phones all the time or have a lot of time on their phone. I had the 10k mah on the note 3. Bulky but the case worked for the environment I worked in. 5 days without a charge!
Great news
