htc hd2 slow internet and sync

hi im wondering if anyone can help, ive had the htc hd2 on t-mobile for about a month now, i love the phone its just i can never watch videos on the you tube never send/recieve email or update weather, its soo slow on internet. i feel im not gettin the most out of the device.,
any help appreciated

are you still on the original t mo rom that had the you tube app removed, and did u then instal the yt app from a cab? if so it is a known issuethat the yt app causes problems with networking....solution? flash a different rom.
also, t mo use a proxy, and you will probably find you get better results if you turn off the proxy.(ignore this step if you decide to flash a new rom)
search the forum, that has been covered several times.

well the phone came form mobilephonesdirect and already had you tube on it.
i did a search but couldnt find anythink sorry if it is a repost.

ahhh in that case it probably doesn't have a tmo rom.
try the proxy setting
settings - menu - all settings - connections - connections - proxy settings tab and see if use a proxy is ticked. if it is, un tick it.
if it isn't then I would consider flashing an updated rom.

thanks for the help i have unchecked the box it doesnt seem to make much difference to be honest, im a bit scared to flash i dont really understand it all am i able to flash back to the origanal 1.66 if i didnt like it? does it void any warrentys?

i basically had the same issue as you. ditched my iphone for this and was very happy i did until i tried browsing tue web. i am also on tmobile although i got it directly.
as said above you need to do a few things to unlock the potential of the phone.
install hspl
flash new rom
update radio
install tweaks.
all can be found on this site with some very good tutorials.
start in the rom dev section to install hspl and change ur rom ive been using the miri v3 rom with no issues.

ok what will installing all these things change?

Softbank has released it's 2.2 sms/mms client enabling emoji!
i have downloaded it and it's working fine so far! Unfortunately emoji only stays in the app and not the whole system..
Try searching "softbank" in market. Maybe other people will be able to see it outside of Japan.
For people in Japan: official [email protected] is supported!

Works good with x06ht rom but on custom roms it FCs a lot

I guess it may be usable if you get a Softbank rom.
I will post screen shots in a bit, I am flashing a new rom right now

Which ROM are you flashing? The original Softbank ROM? Or are you using a custom ROM?

the .apk works with the Softbank ROM update to 2.2 I put in the other thread. It was not working with 2 custom ROMs (Alex and Pays).

Nice! Just included it into my custom ROM. Based on Noonski N.S.A ROM.

Just an update....seems to work fine on sense HD RCMix v 0.7.

i can receive regular sms and mms if the sender sent it to my phone number.. but if the sender sent it to my **@softbank.ne.jp i would not be able to receive it..

Did you change the user agent?
Correct MMS settings in the APN?

Is there any way to extract the emojis from this app, and enable them in the whole system ?
If someone achieves this, he will be the messiah for all people playing storm8 MMOs.

if you want to use Emoji in the whole system, your phone needs to be rooted, i think,
because you have to change ".ttf" file in /system/fonts/ folder.

SMS & MMS Backup when flashing ?

Hello.
One question from noob.
How can I backup and restore my SMS & MMS messages when flashing ROMS.
I have been looking into this, but haven't found a proper way.
I'm now soon going to change to Clockwork Recovery ROM'sbut I would really like to be able to restore my SMS/MMS.
Can someone help me ??
Can someone also recommend a ROM, a daily use ROM.

To backup SMS etc use this free app.
I am using this Desire HD based Sense Rom and can't fault it. Each ROM choice is a matter of personal taste though.

Go get "sms backup" app from market, before you make the switch.

I am using the same build as nobnut, I can vauch for it too!
Stable, auto backup everything on sd car, gps, wifi, 3G - everything works.
Nice HTC Sense themes and you can use Go Launcher to make it clean Android look, so you have lots of options.

[FIX] MMS Failed Pic Messaging (Possibly)

Anyone care to try this to confirm it works???
Heres how I fixed it....
Somewhere along the way I saved an mms.apk. I think from JI6 or something else. It was my last mms that worked anywho...So I used Root Explorer and moved my AOSP mms out of system/app and moved mms.apk into its place and set permissions rw-r--r-- and sent a pic message and it went thru. So I then put the AOSP mms from the OP(Bionix-v) back into the system/app and reset permissions to rw-r--r-- and tried it again and it works now.
Someone also said to export contacts to sim and use those but didn't need to try that route.
***Edit Wife tried the export contacts....didn't work for her
So ..find an mms.apk that worked for you last (ugly blue & yellow bubbles) and try it. Astro , Super Manger and the like should work
Make sure to move your current MMS.apk out or copy it so that you can place it back to see if it works (I used the AOSP because I dont like the stock mms)

Hmmm.. so maybe the code gets broken somewhere along the line and inducing another mms.apk or mms app and then going back fixes the issue.

what rom are you using? I have never had an issue with MMS using Stock rom.

I ve only ever used Team Whiskey ROMs.. from original Bionix to Fusion to Obsidian/Nero etc etc... and Stock. My wife has this problem coming from JI6 OTA to KA6 Kies.. I had this problem on every ROM other then JI6 OTA and I'm on Bionix V.. I fixed mine by doing what I posted in the OP...wife doesn't want her's rooted or anything other than stock.

well I upgrade from JI6 to KA6 using Kies and I don't have an issue with MMS...what issue are you having? blurry pics?

Another method that worked for me was to go into "manage applications" and "clear data" for the messaging app. Of course, it deleted all my messages, but I don't hang on to them, so it didn't matter to me.

Visual Voicemail
When i installed this rom i no longer have access to my Visual Voicemail. I did before I flashed the Rom now it wont work. Any suggestions?

You have to install Visual Voicemail as it is not included in the ROM. Follow these instructions to get it back. Also it sounds like you dirty flashed, otherwise it would not be there. Any further problems will require a clean flash of the ROM by entering SafeStrap. Preform a factory reset and advanced wipe by checking Dalvik Cache, Data, Cache and System.

I did install via safe strap but I just downloaded the apk then installed. By doing it the system/apps way it got it working again. Thank you so much

I have a question about sms notifications. How do I remove the contact pictures from the notifications. I removed the stock sms app and retried both 8sms and chomp but the pictures still show. The only way they don't show is by using the privacy settings but then I can see who is texting me.

I don't get the picture in notifications, I'm using 8sms and have the stock mms installed. As for the late reply I apologize. I didn't get any notification in my email like I do normally.

Hello. I am not able to access the Volte on/off in my settings even though it has been added to my account. I need to be able to use the 6 way conference calling feature. Any help is appreciated.

If you are on V17 it is in the settings menu under more networks/mobile networks. I had it enabled on my phone but I disabled it because I don't like it at all. The feature hasn't been removed from the ROM so it will work. Sometimes VZW takes a while to activate it.

I am on v17 but that option is not there. Does verizon need activate it or to do something on the back end before I see it at all? I already added it to my account. Please see the attached.

Yes, it will not show up until you either activate it online in your account features or call VZW on the phone.

I installed stock mms and 8sms and still get pictures when receiving messages I removed the contact pictures and then it will give me the senders initials I've tried both stock ricks rom and your debloated rom I use a ni2 heavy debloater but it still shows contact pictures any help would be great

My mistake. I usualy don't have contact pictures so I added one to try it out. When I added it I didn't save the contact so the pic didn't show. I just tried it again and saved the contact with the pic and it dose show up in the notifications as yours dose. I don't think there is a option not to show the picture if there is one for the contact. Sorry for the confusion.

Long-time lurker, first time poster here...
Has anyone succeeded in making the Visual Voicemail APK work properly? I've tried on multiple devices under R16 and now R19.2. If I boot to stock, VVM works great. If I boot to the ROM where I've installed the APK, it will launch, sit at "please wait while we check your account information", and then eventually error out.
Unfortunately, since I've activated the HD Audio in my Verizon account (which also activates the free version of VVM), I don't get any notifications as to having a VM waiting (since it relies on the VVM app, which isn't working!)

Few post back... On the first page.... U will have to install it using root explorer. System/ apps/ paste the apk file. Reboot.
