Would all the Naysayers and miserably gits please leave the room.

I have been following the HD2 for some months now and to be honest I want to have its babies.
In all that time there always seems to be a small but very vocal minority who seem to be on a “This Phone is crap, its 3 million % slower than Phone X, O MY GOD what has HTC done”
To be honest I am starting to wonder if there is some kind of anti HTC HD2 movement going on, so please guys if you don’t like the HD2 fine just please GO SOMEWHERE ELSE.
And no I am not a fan boy living in pink fluffy world; in fact I have just had the pleasure of an hour of one on one time with the Retail unit and its sooooooo good. There is no lag, the screen is great and it is clearly, in my mind, the best phone this year and possibly next year as well.
Now I know that not all of you will agree with me, that’s fine but please give the HD2 bashing a rest or at least wait until you have personal tested one and have something constructive to say.

+1 Fed up of seeing people who havent got the phone speculating on poor performance etc.

It is and will be a great phone. Nothing is perfect thou.
If you want the perfect phone then I am sure someone is releasing a phone in a months time that will be guaranteed a market leader for 10 years and deliver 34 days talk time and 8" screen in a 2" body.
From my point of view I had no problems putting my $$ on the table. I also owned the Touch HD and found it was also a great phone. One of the reasons I upgraded is that fact that the prev phone met my expectations and more than happy to repeat the cycle.
If you have a problem then please feel free to buy an alternative solution and contribute to another forum.

I've had my HD2 for two days. A few niggles, but so far it's the best fcukin phone I've ever used...

Sadly there are a lot of self centred whiners and crybabies ouut there who believe that they deserve to have HTC design a phone exclusively for them, and see anything else as a personal attack and attempt at rape on them from HTC. The logic of "if you don't like it, STFU and GTFO" is sadly missed by these dregs of humanity.
I just wish that they'd get lost and take their "omg someone told me it doesn't realy have a capacitive screen and it plays videos at 4% full speed and omg does it have a battery and will it work in america" asking the same question over-and-over-and-over-and-over idiot friends with them.

Because, MOST of the people who bash HD2 have opened their NEW accounts only for this purpose. Check the joining date of most of these guys. and their posts in XDA

Well, I think that all the people bashing HTC HD2 are just jealous that they cannot afford it...

I've got mine on order (should be coming today or tomorrow) and after reading this thread I just cannot wait for it to arrive. As always with a new device you get fanboys of other devices that can't wait to bash it but you can usually tell these from people who actually own the phone or have had time with it.

Well, that was kind of my point: I do like the phone. I may well buy one. You only think I hate it because you are a crazed, rabid HTC fan-boy and you mentally classify everyone who is anything less than a crazed, rabid HTC fan-boy, including balanced moderates, as being at the extreme negative end of the love/hate spectrum. You remind me of George W Bush ("you are either with us or against us"); in reality there are quite a wide range of possibilities in between, and most sensible people are placed somewhere along that continuum, between the two extremes. As Obi-Wan Kenobi observed, "only a sith deals in absolutes".

Do you want to talk about your problem(s)?

Seriously I think the main cause of the negativeness are the new techniques of the device. For example you just have to get used to the capacitive screen, only responding to your finger. Furthermore it's the first version of the new WM6.5, it still isn't perfect (but hopefully will be soon!).
But after three days I'm loving it more by the minute!

This video is pretty funny.
He is complaining and shaking his fist at the screen because there is no pretty animation of the interface switching from port to landscape?? He loves his iPhone, that's for sure. Android is just too much tech for this guy's Apple reduced brain capacity. He needs something simple with shiny buttons and pretty animations.

Well, to be fair, if you're going to do an animation, you might as well do it right And if you can't do it right, then don't do an animation at all. Like my X1, when it switches modes in Panels, I appreciate that they added animation. It's not the smoothest, but it's a nice touch. Certainly wouldn't begrudge them for NOT adding it, though

agreed pretty annoying.. he created the video in a way to look as if android is difficult to figure out... seems like an apple fan boy to me, not just based on the fact that he bashed android but the way he was doing it.. for one ive never tried swiping the lock screen up, just found it retarded that he was making that seem like it was a problem

i'm kinda old school and hate video reviews. i'd rather read. it makes it easier to skip the boring parts, shakey cams, and annoying voices.

<_< I probably shouldn't say this, but I feel like giving everyone a chuckle. I don't own an Android device, but working with them I get to play quite a bit. That said, whenever I see the lock screen, I instinctively try to swipe upwards. Down just isn't intuitive to where my fingers are already placed on the screen. This happens every time, it just doesn't feel right to me
Luckily, I haven't been subjected to the video review... Can't watch it at work, and from the looks of comments, I'm glad

i like to consider myself a fair person - i'm not a fanboy, and i respect negative reviews of android devices even though i feel as a whole, android is pretty nice.
with that said, when i saw this moron IMMEDIATELY complaining about something as trivial as the dots on the lockbar, i logged into youtube just so i could "dislike" his video.
doesn't chris know!? htc/google purposely made the lockscreen like that to weed out and baffle all the apple fanboys! they pick up the device, and because it doesn't expressly tell them what to do with it, they just claw and poke at it like a mentally handicapped ape, eventually giving up and going back to the protective dictatorship of stevie jobs. without someone else doing all their thinking for them, they can't even get past the lockscreen of a more advanced phone.

How can you make an informed decision on just speculation, there are many factors that makes a phone great, not just massive leaps in tech... This phone IS a great piece of kit NO DOUBT!

People need to prioritize, they critisize it because it does not have a dual core CPU but really what good is that going to do, its a phone. It isnt like any Android app is that CPU intensive.
no HD video, doesnt matter either, HD video on phones still isnt anywhere comparable to a HD video camera. the resolution may be there but the quality isnt.
I for one rather take on time and priority Android updates over anything else.
I do like this phone, and glad i sold my N1 before the market for N1's shot down.

Damn you!!!!! Lol, I just bit the bullet on eBay on my N1, and yes, prices are lower, I took $50 less than I would've a week ago.
And criticizing something they dont own is the same thing people did with the G2, then people found out it was a really great device. It doesn't help companies or end users when people prematurely "bastardize" a device.

Thats a good question lol see I used to not read forums back then but im sure they would have deterred me from getting a Nexus One, which turned out to be the best phone I ever owned SECOND to my Nexus S!!

I got the Nexus one when it first came out... read the forums briefly... but I only remember people complaining about battery issues... like it would die with so-so hours.
I was trying to see if there were anything else that got fixed later on.

The Nexus 1 got ripped in its first few weeks for its dodgy clearpad 2000 screen which has support for only two touches at a time and its overlapping axis... This just shows you people are never satisfied. The N1 is one of the most important phones in history

I absolutely agree. before I got the phone I read so much crap left and right. All the whining about dual core, no sd, etc...I buckled down sold my N1 and bought the Nexus S the first day and there is no looking back! best move I could have made. The phone is awesome, it's already rooted and will give you the best android experience without the bloatware(sense, touchwiz). Technology moves so fast and people are never happy. Right now, this phone kicks ass!!!

I used to hate Samsung phones (especially regular phones), but this one seems to be the best phone from Samsung and it looks very cool.
No memory card is the only thing I don't like.

I still think Google and Samsung could have done better than this. LOL. LOL
Anyhow, it sounds to me that if you already got rid of your Nexus One you don't have a choice but to now love your Nexus S.

I think this is the first topic I've read without reading a single post whining about this or that. Kudos to everyone in this topic and the whiners that didn't post in this topic. I say whiners because I see it in almost every single damn topic I read through.

I agree. Hopefully in a few weeks or so we'll see all the naysayers and doomsayers pass.
One day and we already have boot unlock (though that was admittedly pretty simple), custom recovery, root, and an optimized kernel. I only see bright things in this device's future, but that might just be the amazing screen!

BS Player Lite can play a file with AC3 in HW accelerate mode but only if it uses it's own HW engine. If you select HW accelerate from system it will play the file in SW mode. So indeed maybe codec related....

Posting a thread is nice for us to all know whats going on but you being an ass doesn't add the codecs to your tablet. Send something to NVIDIA or a developer you like that works with audio.

There isn't much point in participating in a technical forum where everyone is required to say only good things about the product.
Yet from the moment I suggested that AC3 wasn't supported I got: ALIENS
And then when I suggested that NVIDIA screwed up I got: I DON'T UNDERSTAND THE POINT RETURN IT.
Well maybe I'm the one thats ignorant. I thougth XDA was a tech forum where the pros and cons of tech products were impartially discused.
If you like I can be more like the rest of you. Makes my post count higher and its less time consuming:

Supersoulfly, you know it wasn't really you that annoyed me. You may have been less than tactful, with your ALIENS stuff, but you actually asked for evidence and I have no problem at all with that. I also noticed that once I provided the evidence in the form of NVIDIA's documentation you didn't attack me further - fair enough.
It was the guy at the end who's only use for the info was DUUUUHHHH well then why don't you just return it.
Only to be followed up by another saying exactly the same thing.
Then I got called an ass for saying NVIDIA screwed up. The whole - "I'm superior to you because I can just live with the product the way it is and your an idiot for daring to question it drives me crazy.
Just seems that if thats all that people take away from these discussions then we should all just run out and become a world of iPad owners and call it quits.

Oh, I missed all that stuff (cause you deleted your posts). I just woke up. But you found the documentation for it? Good find then. Perhaps someone knows, was AC3 a problem with Tegra 2 also?
I personally am using the BS Lite player to get my MKVs to work. If Nvidia dropped the ball on this I don't see any other solutions than outside software.
And yeah, just telling someone to return an item isn't a remedy for all that ails us. Not even an option for me. XDA is my source to resolve problems, on my own.

this threads gunna get closed soon so the real issue cant be addressed. come on.

Enough with the negativity on this phone

I am sick and tired of reading negative comments/pages on this phone. I do not own this phone as of yet but I know for a fact this isn't a piece of junk. It is the best smartphone HTC has put out as of yet and its hands down argubally one of the best smartphone out now. Can we please share what the positives are about this phone ?? What we LIKE and LOVE. I want to read about what makes this phone the ONE rather then scaring people off with the negativity, especially the ones who are hesitant on buy this phone.

Its not 'junk', but its probably the most flawed phone ive ever had. I still like it though.

He still has a point, the negativity in this forum is ******* annoying. especially since its from those who don't own the phone

The only reason why these forums are so negative is because not everyone is going to write about the positives because they have nothing to gain. When people write about negatives, they are searching for answers or advice if that makes sense. There is only a small herd that is bashing the phone but the only reason why it seems everyone is doing it is because they are the most vocal

Ok well it has a great screen, its unbelievably sharp. I personally could see the pixels on a Retina, or SAMOLED screen at about 300DPI, but i really cannot seem them on this screen. You do not see aliasing on any angles at all, ever.
The TV remote function is great, it works, from a distance, which i didnt think it would. The TV app is pretty good to.
The sound output is very nice. Typical Beats (a bit of muddy bass), but if you like that, its really nice. The bundled headphones seem to be Beats headphones in a cheaper housing. Its LOUD, both from the stereo speakers and the headphones, something very few phones are.
It seems to playback almost any type of file at any bit-rate, as long as you use a third party app. My S3 wouldnt play a lot of the stuff ive tried on the One.
Build quality issues aside, it is solidly made. It feels like a sold piece of metal. No flex, no creaks, nothing.
The camera is very good at focusing and great in low light. Dont worry to much about it being 4MP unless you tend to zoom in or crop images a lot.
Its a bit early to comment on speed. It feels slow compared to the S3 at doing most things, but its on early firmware, its not fair to compare to a well developed year old unit. I remember being underwhelmed by the S3 at first.

Expect it lol! SGS4 is coming samsung is probably spending a fortune for thousands of users to bash the HTC One all over the internet.
Even youtube got owned by samsung.. Imagine I searched the word HTC One in the search bar then I get a Galaxy 4 promo video on the top of the search results lol! So much for accurate results eh?

Every new phone has issues. The s4 will have plenty. This is where you write about the issues

The ads come based on your search history. Maybe you've been reading about S4 a bit lately. I do not get that ad on my screen

I'm also sick of Samsung ans apple trolls ranting on about how bad the one is. The phone is great and I won't let them spoil it for me

Same here, I got this phone because it's the one I wanted, for me it's head and shoulders above anything that's out, and I'd most definitely choose it over the s4, why because it's what I wanted in a phone and no amount of people bashing it will change my opinion of it. They just get ignored.

Nah, I haven't search Samsung's product in all my youtube usage history, and yet Samsung note 2 or S4 pops out when I looking for "New One" or "Padfone 2(which I own now)". Soooooo annoying.
But hey , I don't think all the blames are bad or what, some of them make sense. Well, some of them are just, hmm, random complaints from nowhere.

Why would I search s4? lol I'd rather get IPhone 4 than galaxy s4 since I am a design freak lol!

People bashing the Htc one are here for a reason. They are scared. They know its the best phone out there and a phone that will hurt Samsung .

There's two parts to it. The first part are people with issues that want the phone. These are the people that are within their right to be complaining. Then you have the people that are just here to bash the phone to try and justify their intended purchasing of the S4. Those people need to be banned.
