Flac Files on HTC Music Player? - Desire HD General

is there any chcance to play flac files on DHD? it was impossible some time ago, how it looks today..

Well, there are several FLAC-cappable players on the market...

PowerAmp music player.

hi guys..thanks for your anwsers..i was thinking about stock player, i mean.. i want to stream flacs to my Denon AVR..

The stock player won't play them. Not compatible. May have to look into a 3rd party app

poweramp play them..but i think i cant stream them to denon..

Not that strange with a little research. It is known that CM Roms use a 3rd party player and codex that the stock player doesn't support those codex. Reason why it was suggested to use a 3rd party player

Hi,
I was hoping to have that option as well on the other ROMS, but it is CM7 is the only one that supports it.
No complaints here, happy for the ROMS available.

Well, im use mobo player for play .flac file

is it option for stream files over wifi on mobo?

i know.. i was using it before..

For music playback I use PowerAMP
For streaming media i use iMediaShare, a bonus that its free on the market. Not sure if this will stream flac though. Its an excellent bi-directional upnp/dlna streamer.

imedia cant see flac files..unfortunately..

I convert my flac files to ogg using freac, works like a charm. Ogg is to said to have better quality at 192kbps then mp3 has at 320kbps and also these ogg files are smaller then mp3 which results in saving space.
Also I got for almost every music album a cover.

How about BubbleUpnp?

Looks like FLAC is supported however unsure if this includes FLAC streaming though

Hi, in you media player options, go to the network tab, and set it to 128 or higher, and uncheck detect internet connection speed, it should play video then.

Media Player?

I have been looking on youtube everywhere but nobody has demo the music player so i'm guessing its the same as on the Hero.Evo owners can u tell me if it is the same or post a pic of the music player?
its the same
get real player beta hands down the best
the stock player is pretty decent, but the best music player i have used is MixZing. read the reviews, it's awesome.
for video playback get mVideoPlayer

it is a thin wrapper around the android video playback architecture, so it will play what android normally plays. your best bet is h264+aac in an mp4 container with the proper settings (basically anything the iphone will play, without protection). it also adds some nice features the htc gallery app doesn't have, such as saving your spot in your videos, subtitle support, etc.
Cool thanks I was hoping for something that would let me play my files unconverted but with handbrake it's not much of a hassle to convert
It's pretty much the same as the Hero, but it seems to do steaming MP3s and whatnot now. Before with my Hero, it would have to download them, and then I would have to play them.
stock music i'm sure is the same.
there finally is a music player with an eq, but i don't remember where it is. i think the apk can be found in the nexus forums. seems to work okay.
right now, i'm kind of digging 'cubed' (actually named with a superscript 3 on the market, but if you search for cubed, you'll find it part way down the list). beautiful interface, and widget. i finally may have found an app worth donating to, lol
I like meridian .. have tried them all..
i don't have android phone... do any of the media players allow you to create playlists from the phone? that way i can dump all my music on my phone and organize it on the fly.

Does anyone know of a way to tell the cubed player which folders to look for music in? It keeps pulling in game sounds from sniper vs sniper....

[Q] Best Music Player and Best Video player

Which is the best music player and best video player for Milestone 2 (considering hardware n stuff especially when it comes to video)??
It would be nicer if the video player can support formats like avi, divx , flv etc.
I bought PowerAMP as music player but haven't really played around with it. Though I think it's a decent music program. Others swear on winamp. I never had this program on my computer, since I looked for something else. On the marketplace PowerAMP had really good rankings!
For videos VPlayer is the way to go. There is this 30 days trial shareware. Try it out, it eats everything you throw at. Avi, of course, divx, I think xvid, not sure about flv. Try it out and buy it if you like it!

Thanks for the reply mate..
I myself have found WinAmp pretty good..
As far as VPlayer goes, I did try the trial version. But I had sync issues with a 720p .flv . After trying it this question actually came up..
There also is this VLC Player coming for android. I heard rumors. Are you following smartphone news?
Here you can see the progress: http://git.videolan.org/?p=vlc/vlc-android.git;a=summary
I do read around. But did not stumble upon that.
Seems like good news. May be we'll see VLC on android soon and hopefully it will live up to its desktop counterpart.
And I must add Cinema (by Greg Millam) is a nice video player for Android. Though it only plays whatever your stock player plays (as it uses hardware decoder). Still it is good.
Okay, Im going to give it a try. Thank-you!

I recommend MX player and Dice player.
For music I use UberMusic... it's beautiful and very functional. Worth every cent.
For video I use MoboPlayer.
Give a try to the awesome ³ (Cubed Player) from Filipe Abrantes, if your music has correct tags.
MX player for local videos, vevo and vimeo for their online great stuff.
musicXmatch for music and MX Player for videos

Hi,
I also use power amp and mx player. And for both apps you can choose the folders to scan to avoid having your ringtones or other sounds played by the player... as for me, power amp starts playing music when I plug a jack. I am using cm10 from Tezet.

[Q] No sound when playing BluRay.X264

Hi everyone,
When I play 720p.BluRay.X264 mkv file on my Galaxy S2 there is no sound. I tried the integrated player, mVideoPlayer and MoboPlayer. The sound track on MoboPlayer is shown as 1:6CH, 48000Hz. Do I need any audio codec to play the video with sound or there is nothing I can do to whatch theese files on my new Galaxy S2? Thanks for your answers in advance.
there is a test done before for mkv files playback..
dice player plays it the best..

Thanks sumeshd,
Unfortunately it is a trial version and not free. Do you know free player that will play the audio?
Check if it has DTS audio, the S2 has some trouble playing DTS audio. You should probably convert the audio to AAC or get video files that don't use DTS.
Yep, its probably DTS audio, in which case Diceplayer is what you need. Its well worth the price I think.

Most likely the audio-stream is encoded with DTS, which isn´t supported by the Galaxy S II.
It can play AAC, MP3 or AC3.

You can´t install any media-codecs on Android, like you can do it in Windows.
Obviously mediaplayers can bring their own decoders, but this means decoding on the CPU, which is slow and eats much more battery-power.
So it is best to encode the audio-stream in one of the supported formats
Thanks everyone. I will purchase Dice Player, tested and the audio works great.

You mean video and audio is not synchronous?
That´s because, it plays video and audio separately. Basically the Player uses the media-framework to play the video without sound, so it can use the DSP.
Then it plays the sound separately, using a built in software-decoder.
This most likely also means reading the file twice, although some caching maybe prevents the need to actually read it twice from the permanent storage.
So it is a quite inefficient way to play the video. The player doesn´t know the internal timings of the media-framework, so it doesn´t really know when to play the audio. But most players should allow to set a custom audio-delay.
It is also possible that there simply isn´t enough CPU-power left to do the decoding in software.

There are some known problems to play HD MKVs.
1. 24bit Flac Audio is not supported
2. microsd card class ( transfer rate ) issue.
3. Wrong MKV time stamp issue.

Audio delay on Bluetooth headset

I bought a new Sony Ericsson MW600 Bluetooth headset and I'm getting audio delay by one second when watching video, I can tell as the lip movements don't match.
Affected players:
MoboPlayer
MX Player
BS Player
XBMC
I have tried a combination of HW/SW modes but this doesn't make a difference. XBMC does have an audio sync slider, but this is extremely awkward to adjust with the very small buttons/sliders in the UI.
On the other hand, there are no audio delays in Play Movies for the Transformers movie, nor in Dice Player. But Dice Player is not my preferred video player.
Any solutions to this? Is there something in Dice Player that fixes it, and is up to developers of other players to implement this "fix"?
Thanks

I just tried my bluetooth audio headset (it's actually a bluetooth transceiver which connects to my hearing aids), and Dice Player has a big delay - just like all the other players.
I did a quick search for XBMC in the market/play store, but couldn't find the video player - got a link to it by chance, please? I'd love to try the sliders.
Cheers,
Richard.

XBMC is still in beta so it's not on Play yet, got mine from the OP's links in this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1772433
Also tried a few other players, Rock Player and QQ Player, same problems :/
Unless they've improved bt with video in the last three years, you cannot use bt headphones when watching videos. It introduces a delay with audio. This isn't noticeable when simply listening to music as there is nothing to look at. Same with voice calls.
I was super bummed years ago when I bought quality bt headphones and found this it. Regular wireless headphones have so much static.

Thanks for that: just tried it, and it is fiddly, that's for sure.
I also found that although you can almost get audio in sync, in XBMC, it seems to drift, so the more you play, the further out of sync it goes - I guess this will be fixed in a future release.

Well I'm not sure, it seems watchable on my HTC Desire with MX player when I tried it just now, the audio delay on that is roughly 0.2 secs - you can't notice it unless you tried to.
Even a generic search on Google such as "bluetooth audio delay" brings up a few results, mostly to the Asus transformer. And funnily enough the Nexus 7 is an Asus device so I'm wondering if there's a relation in the BT hardware used. Not good.

xvid is a thing of the past and scene release no longer supported.
Stock player SD xvid .avi does not play
Stock player SD (new scene format x264 MP4) No issue
Dice SD xvid .avi No issue
MX SD xvid .avi Lag
BS SD xvid .avi Lag
So if you want to play xvid bluetooth Dice does the job.
Thanks for the Handbrake details.
I'd also be interested to see whether Jelly Bean exhibits this blue tooth audio delay.

I'm new (as in, yesterday) to Handbrake, but it looks like you can export/import profiles - perhaps you could export your profile and I could try that? Would be good to have something which others can import and use to get around this problem. I'm still hoping Jelly Bean might somehow miraculously fix this bug.
I have lag with the bs player but the stock player and the player with es explorer play mp4s off my flash drive with no lag.I am using a Samsung hs3000 headset.
There must be a media player that allow audio-video sync to be set manually. To the millisecs. Is there?
