Ok, I just received my Unlocked Samsung Focus from AT&T today and everything was fine until I synced with ZUNE.
after sync, phone started to make Message sound 10 loop, repeating the same sound over over and over again, every 0.5-1 second AND DOESN'T stop no matter in which menu you are, even when you're listening to music... But it stops when you plug in the USB cable...
I tried phone reboot, even hard reset, but it's still the same the freakin beeping sound doesn't stop
any suggestions???
It's the same sound when you plug in USB, after you dissconect it it starts to repeat it endlessly HELP!!!!
Sounds like a serious issue, if it persists after a hard reset.
Drop in an AT&T booth and ask them?
the problem is, I live far from USA and there's no AT&T provider here.. ( I live in Georgia, Tbilisi)
the problem is, as it seems, that phone's micro usb port is touching the ground or something like that, cuz when you plug in the cable (no matter if it's plugged in computer/charger, or not) the sound stops. and sometimes it's periodic :\
I searched a little, and it seems I have a same problem as described here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=984909
seems like phone's micro usb port is a problem, i tried to separate the phone and micro-usb port with a little thick paper and it seems to work for now... no sound for now, but I fear that it will return as soon as I'll plug the micro-usb cable :|
So I have a question:
Is there any way to delete/replace/disable USB plug in sound notification?

Has anyone else had this issue? No matter which ROM, RADIO, Phone Settings, ect... I have tried almost everything. Anytime I make a call OR receive a call, the speakerphone icon is toggled automatically. I can turn it off momentarily but the thing just turns right back on again a few seconds later.
btw- I have done hard resets, clean installs (task29), removed sim card and sd card during flashes, hard resets after flashes.
Please help!!! My wife is the only one that doesn't seem to mind my problem because she's been able to hear my conversations all day. LOL
I've never heard this one before. It's possible you have a bad phone.
If I were you, I'd flash back to stock (including the SSPL) and call customer service and get the phone replaced.
You will be able to keep your phone until the new one arrives, which could take a couple of weeks judging by input from others here.
You've paid waaay too much to not have a phone that works perfectly for you
My HD2 was stuck in "Car Kit Mode". An Update for HTC HD2 Car Kit Mode function enhancement has been released to somehow fix this problem (link below)
Seems the problem has already been identified in another thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=619859
A quick fix is to plug in a usb cable to a computer, and switch to disk mode or activesync mode. Doing this will reset the speakerphone setting. The reason this happens is the phone is stuck in car kit mode.
Like it says in the title. Since this morning the phone thinks headphones are plugged in on boot, it shows the symbol in the top right corner. But there are no headphones at all
I did some flashing this morning, that may have caused it? But the strange thing is: If i wipe everything, and flash a new rom, the problem still exists, with different roms. It gets even stranger: when i connect the phone to my computer by usb, and then disconnect it, the symbol disappears, but when the phone is still connected, it shows a symbol for a headphone with a mic attached to it, if you know what i mean
Any help with this? I am stuck here since wiping and flashing new roms doesnt solve anything...
I had a similar problem with my Xperia X1. The problem was my headphone jack got stuck (meaning the little pin that indicates whether something is plugged in got stuck). Wat solved the problem for me was taking a small pin and poke around till you un-stuck the plug. Have had this problem with my hero once but a reboot solved the problem.

Maybe i should also tell you, that after the usb-cable has been connected and disconnected, everything works fine, until the next boot, so that is strange if it is a hardware fault isn't it?
mine used to have this problem, and was annoying as the phone could only be used for calls in speakerphone mode, or with the headset.
The problem kind of waned away, but when it returns I use headset toggle widget (google) to switch the headset off when I need sound to come from the handset.
Mine had that problem some days ago, i flashed other kinds of ROM's and all that but the phone still showed that a headset was plugged in.
The next day, it was all fine.
Could be dust or something inside the jack that's causing this problem?
I think it is a software problem but definitely not a ROM problem, i had this problem before on 1.5 and 2.1. It usually appears after being turned on or rebooted. What i found was that if you turn off the phone without waiting a while to turn back on it is more likely to appear. Sometimes i would poke a headphone around until it went away, sometimes when i do this it brings up a call screen but it doesnt actually make the call. Really weird. What i did to keep this problem away is to turn off the phone for the night when i sleep.
Hi,
This might be a newbie issue but my HD2 was working well up until few days ago when I noticed that everytime I make a call instead of ringing normally it does it in speaker (hands free) mode what caught my attention since I didn't change any settings.
I'm inclined to think that it might be due to some corruption in the software since I didn't find any optios to revert this so I was thinking on doing a hard reset but...
The other issue I have is that I tried to connect it to two different computers (that it used to connect without problems) and it does not do it.
It does charge on the USB but neither PC's recognize that the phone is connected.
I tried 2 different cables on the 2 PC's without luck.
So again I'm now more convinced that it is a software problem.
Any idea how should I proceed so I don't loose any data????
Thanks,
Look up "stuck in car kit mode" see if it's the same symptoms.
I look into it thanks...
I looked it up,but is not exactly the same.
It's stuck on loud speaker yes but not in landscape mode, if I rotate the phone the screen works ok.
It also goes to sleep so they are not exactly the same
It just does not get recognized by the pc when I plug it on the USB.
I just get the charging light and the little plug simbol on top as you get when you plug to external power but the computers don't make the sound (or any sign of recognition) that normally comes when you plug any USB device to it.
Unless this is just the start of it...
Well, after reading all 12 (or so) pages on that thread and cleaning the heck of the micro usb, wigling the cable in every direction this morning I managed to connect the phone to the PC and get rid of the loud speaker, so even if the symptoms are not exactly the same looks like it heading in that direction.
Bummer...
I guess it's time to start looking for a new phone.
Hi everyone i don't know if any of you guys experienced this problem before with the note 3 i bought the note 3 when i renewed my contract thinking it was a good phone good specs and the iphone was a bit too expensive for the low specs, well bought it got the smartwatch too all good for the first week it was fine and now it started to do this it won't connect to the pc via USB KIES won't find it tryed all sorts of soft/hard resets, when finally i managed to do a factory reset on the phone itself (which i struggled with because the screen would turn black and coloured lines would show) i did that and it was working afterwards .. lost all my contacts pictures etc which is kind of annoying after new years, and started from scratch did a back up this time with kies but today same thing ... won't connect through usb won t recognise the charger nothing and if i switch it off and then connect the usb it would start pulsing (vibrates slow without stopping with the screen black) additional coloured lines show from time to time.
then if i take the usb out and try starting the phone looks like nothings wrong i don't know what to do with it how to sort the problem out, also it hasn't been exposed to water or any other stuff that could cause damage!
new
now it says 'the dock is connected' when i plug the usb in and it charges but still the pc won't recognise it and kies says it doesn t recognise the device 'device not supported ' or something like that
if my phone would do that, i would think of:
1.faulty usb cable
2.faulty device
it should at least always recognize the charger and those lines and vibrating when the device is off aren´t normal.
i would try another cable if available or contact customer support for replacement.
doesn´t seem to be a software problem, how could that be when the device is off and doing weird things.
if its just about not connecting properly, check your adb drivers. open the device manager on your pc and under android device it should read samsung android adb interface.
feel free to correct me if i´m wrong (anybody).
Grab an older USB2 cable and see if that works. (plug goes in the right side of the socket) Other than that it seems to be hardware - replacement time.
Yep, sounds like you got a lemon... Unfortunately it happens...
So I've been having this odd issue I've been dragging for a while now since I think it's a lost cause, but maybe someone can help me here.
Way back when Nougat was rolling out I waited for several months but my device (XT1575 - not rooted or unlocked) wouldn't get the update notification.
So I looked in here and there were several easy guides to apply the OTA update via recovery manually, so I did so and it worked just fine.
After a couple of days, I noticed an odd thing where I didn't get notifications immediately and my wifi connection was like not on all the time if the screen was off... the second I turn on the screen, notifications start popping up so much that it's a clear sign some of them were just not getting received. (I don't have any power saver mode/app enabled and my 2nd phone works on the same wifi and is working fine).
Also, when I tried connecting the phone to my PC, it wouldn't recognize it anymore... quick-charge and USB-OTG are also not working at all (flash drives with a light will just blink once when inserted and then just stop working).
I took the phone apart, the USB connector looks brand new and is very sturdy, no broken solder points, dust or dirt anywhere.
I also used a multimeter to check and all contact points in the USB port have a good continuity connection to their contact points on the board.
Any ideas? I would love to unlock it and try to solve the wifi connection thing with a new/fresh ROM, but with no USB, I'm stuck :/

You said your flash drives were't working right? Then it's probably the motherboard on your computer or it's missing the correct drivers. Try testing the phone on another computer you can go to a local library if you can't use someone else's computer. Also go into your notification settings and make sure do not disturb is off and look at "when device is locked" and make sure it's set to show all notification content.

I said the flash drives weren't working with USB-OTG (with the phone), not the PC... the flash drives are A-OK on the PC.
The Motorola drivers are the latest from Motorola and they manage to detect my Moto G2 without any issues.
I also checked the Moto X on two other PCs... neither the phone nor the PCs are detecting anything as being connected, apart for the phone getting a charge.
In the notification settings, in "On the lock screen" it's set to "Show all notification content".
One more thing I researched is the USB port pins... apparently, for the phone to detect a regular wall charger the DATA+ and DATA- pins are supposed to be shorted (connected together) via the charger.... if it's connected to a PC/smart device the pins are not supposed to be shorted.
I checked with several chargers and with all of them the phone displays (in the battery menu) that it's "Charging over USB" (PC) when it should have displayed "Charging on AC"... meaning that it doesn't even detect the short that the DATA pins are supposed to have.
