ive tryed every version i can find on here it installs and i can open but then it says i need to add an account or something then just closes

You can login your google accoubt in Settings.
Settings -> Accounts and Sync -> Add account -> Choose Google account

First go to www.google.com/voice and set up an account. After going through the set up, you need to download the apk(which can be found on xda). Sorry I don't have the link to download. Once you downloaded the apk, then place it on the root of your sdcard. I used astro to open the apk and then it installed to my phone. I didn't uninstall the current voice application, the new apk will just update your current voice application. Make sure you have "unknown sources" checked in you settings, before you start all this. After all said and done. Long press your homescreen, add the voice widget, press on the "phone icon" and follow the steps. Now you're done! Enjoy a lil G2 love on your G1!

With AOSP roms (like ruby), you need to flash google apps in addition to the ROM. You can find these in ROM Manager.
After that, add your account in the normal way.

Seems like I can't change Gmail sound notifications using the Optus 2.2.2 firmware. I was able to change it using the UK 2.2.2 firmware =="

Sorry guys, I'm such an idiot. The latest Gmail app changed the location of the settings.
Guide to change notification settings:
1) Go to your email inbox
2) Menu -> More -> Settings and select your email account
3) Check 'Email Notifications'
4) Hit 'Labels to Notify' -> 'Inbox'
5) Change your settings there =)
I'm currently using the Optus stock ROM (2.2)...to those who upgraded to 2.2.2 from the stock ROM, did you lose any settings/sms's/apps/etc (and were your phones rooted/etc as well?).
My phone is rooted and I have heavily frozen the MotoBLOAT so not sure if upgrade to 2.2.2 will remove the root and all the custom setup, etc...???
(I will unfreeze everything when I go to update mind you)

Cant contact to play store. Every time it shows No Network. While my network is okay.

Try clearing playstore data from settings.
If still the problem exists then try using playstore via wifi it will surely work

Fully uninstall play store first...
Then install same play store as given in the rom .....
Then u r done.....
If u r stock rom u can use any play store. ......

Uninstall playstore then download the latest playstore using root explorer push the apk to system/app..... In system/app find the playstore apk that you paste long press then set permission to r-rw

I am using creeds rom. I tried the latest version as well as old version of play store. It was good earlier. But I don't know why it suddenly behaves like that. All the time it shows No Network. But I don't have any network problem. Cause all my other apps running smoothly. Just can't connect to play store.

I also got the same problem but mine gives "Connection Timed Out" message...
I'm on Stock ROM and i already tried all of the suggestions but it didn't work...
any suggestions more,,.??
Try deleting your google account, then setting it up again. There might be a bug there. Also, some roms have edited hosts files. This may lead to internet issues.

Tried it also AND didn't work...T_T
Guys if theres a bug in the rom try using playstore via wifi once......n the second time via ur network.It will surely work
( worked for me atleast)
