We have already got Android 4 rom on HD2. Its a SDK port. We will have a real port once source gets released to AOSP.
I think I might have some good news:

I really wanna try it.
If the iPhone 2G can get Gingerbread booting then I'm SURE we'll have a bunch of good Ice Cream ports in the next few months here. The only thing I'm worried is that the HD2 probably might not be able to handle an Ice Cream Sandwich ROM w/ Sense UI, [ I'm a Sense fan ], but otherwise I'm excited for it
I guess ics have lower requirements than 2.3.5 with sense 3.0
So is 100% possible to have ics on hd2
does anyone knows the system requirements of ICS?
I'm not sure *exactly* but apparently it's pretty much the same as Gingerbread, as many of the changes are just to the UI. [ This is from what I've read, I'm not 100%]

Enjoying ginger bread,
We will soon be using Honeycomb, but what about cupacke ??????
I would be amazed to have Android CupCake 1.5 running on our HD2 / HD7 / Desire
Please developers.....
Why in the world would you want cupcake over gingerbread/froyo?
First rembemer this: Honeycomb NEVER goes to HD2 and etc onecore processors devices!
Why?
Because honeycomb written specially for dualcore and onecore processors dont have idea what todo with honeycomb.
For these onecore devices goes soon gingerbread 2.4 aka icecream ( icecream name was leaked and google was rejected this name ).
Gingerbread 2.4 is actually honeycomb but written specially to onecore devices.
Correct me someone if i understand something wrong.
About cupcake i dont know anything. Sorry

Sorry, but that's simply untrue mate. It is optimised, visually, for tablet devices. Other that that it will run fine on phones.

Thanks mate. Now i have clear things. Seems i just readed so much different news and leaks.
Anyway i dont see reason and needless port honeycomb to hd2 or phones. Its my opinion only.

I don't think that anyone is possible to run Android 1.5 and nobody will cook something, because everything has to get ported to 1.5 that you can use it. I know you want to run it because of nostalgic purposes like people want to run windows 1.0 on their computers. Just search if you can find a 1.5 sdk and you can emulate 1.5 on your computer. for your phone, no way...
Thanks for all your replies...
Thank you all for replies,
i wanna get hands on cupcake, so to get iphone like rotation...
any ways, no a big issue....
And about HoneyComb,
Dev has managed to run HC on DesireHD as well as on Evo..
So, there is an chance to get it on our HD2..
I know our brilliant dev's can easily figure out
so....
HTC EVO 4G, Nexus One, Desire HD and Incredible joined the Honeycomb world....
it seems that, in this joyous family, missing only our HD2 ....
is possible or not ?
....that's the question

Honey Monster
What is Honeycomb, I've heard (read) a few posts refering to this, but the only Literature I can find refers to Android 3.0 which is supposedly Tablet only. Can someone show me the way to enlightenment so I too may share the dream. I would love to add more OS to the seemingly endless capabilities of my HD2.
It is meant for tablet only. However some have modified the roms to run on Phones.
However, apparently the current phone Honeycomb ROMS are flakey to say the least.
I am so used to a stable working gingerbread I'd be hesitant to jump ship until its been through a few iterations on the HD2
GG
Hansel & Gretel
Is Google trying to fatten us up by feeding us all these sweets before throwing us into the oven?
What is Gingerbread, Android 2.x??

Well my interest would simply be for trying it out for fun and curiosity more then as a daily OS.
Its primerily for tablets but would be nice to try on our HD2 screens, bit like the ubuntu UI.
Is there any project about Honeycomb on HD2? Do you know somebody tries to port it?
there was a thread in the dev section with honeycomb but i think most efforts now are getting gingerbread working propelrly and with sense 3 coming out honeycomb has taken a backburner to it all
Lack of interest from devs I guess, and community. Seeing as everyone loves sense and gingerbread. And I don't think most are keen on the idea of a tablet ui on a phone.
If you go to the SD builds, there's a regularly updated build that emulates Gingerbread. I used it last night and quite liked it, and I may try it again when I have the time
EDIT: Sorry, Honeycomb

No more work can be done on Honeycomb until Google release all the source code needed, getting everything working on Gingerbread sense appears to be the main focus for most now but still issues like camcorder and glitches, etc to sort out alongside some other small issues.
and they aren't planning to release the source 'till ice cream thingy is released, sometime around.after the end of teh year, they dont want people putting it on phones, cos they used trickery to make it work on tablets(is their official stance) ((all part of their slow gentle move towards controlling their own phone OS, in an iOS/WP7-like way, in my uneducated, wildguessworklike opinion, , ))
As in title, can we hope to see Ice Cream Sandwitch on our Tattoo sooner or later (maybe through CyanogenMod)? The Android team said that EVERY phone that had Gingerbread can have ICS: it's the same for the Tattoo or it's not doable due to the limited hardware (I also mean screen size)?

i really hope we can see this happen
but for now i think it's to early to say. high end phones have no info yet, so we gotta be very patient ICS source is not out yet...
so for now, we are happy that we have 2.3.7 which isn't on many high end devices
this is a nice read
http://www.androidcentral.com/ice-cream-sandwich-what-happens-next
We have to wait until Google releases the source-code. After that, we can see if our device will be able to run ICS
I have actually given up the hope to upgrade my tattoo further than 2.3.7, because I don't feel that my phone can use the new features in 4.0 so what's the point ^^ GPU Accelerated UI and better dual core support isn't very much for the tattoo. The ride with my tattoo has however been really nice, and it was a really good way to get introduced to android Galaxy Nexus here I come?

It's sad to say this, but I think you're right :')
Consider that the Nexus S is now almost the price I payed my tattoo 2 years ago: maybe it's time to switch in the near future...
In the meanwhile... ICS IS OUT IN THE WILD RIGHT NOW, GUYS!! So, let's see if there's some more juice to squeeze out from our little tattoo!

lets keep waiting
The alpha build look slow on the G1. Hopefully some tweaking could cause performance improvements.

Hi Guys,
What do you think about this?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1511495
Looks like there's a chance to get ICS in our Tattoos
I have checked it yesterday.
stelios97 has ported it to both X10 mini and wildfire,
so there is very good chance that we can have ics miui for tattoo.
But then I wonder, is there any dev still holding a Tattoo to help us.
Would be really nice to have MIUI on our tattoo.
It would even be better than having ICS!

The other day I read that 2.3.7 source for MIUI was released
http://shrewdgeek.com/2012/02/04/xiaomi-makes-miui-gingerbread-2-3-7-open-source/
all we need is to get it compiled for ARM v6
Where are the developers for tattoo roms?
Arco? Kalimocho? rallapag? you've also done some ports, didn't you?
can someone port MIUI to our tattoo?
i don't know much about android rom development, but i think it wouldn't be much more work to port this miui rom than port some sense roms. a wildfire version is already available.
Its more some driver related things, i think
can someone try it please?
Hi .dot
You know, I am not a dev.
What ever I do, I am afraid it will be incomplete like my sense 2.3 rom port.
We need a real dev, unfortunately Arif-ali as well gave up working on Tattoo yesterday has indefinitely stopped android development.
ics
i really hope that there will be a new rom.cause i´m a little bored with my tattoo and the nfinity-rom. i hope that the dev will start to work on it..it would be fantastic!PLEASE
There you go guys,
A test version of CM9 is here for Tattoo

I found this ROM for HTC desire HD and HTC Desire S with Android 4.0 and Sence 4.0 lite.
Is there any hope that ROM will be ported to HTC Hero?
i doubt we will see an android 4.0 rom with sense 4.0 anytime soon.
we haven't even got a fully working ice cream sandwich rom for the hero just yet and who knows if there ever will be??? however the Open GL 2.0 mod/hack has given us a little bit of hope and now its just a case of fixing all the bugs in the glassmacka ics rom which hopefully can be done
but as i say it could be a while before anyone even attempts a sense 4.0 rom on the hero and even if its possible its not 100% certain that it would be stable enough for daily use

yeah the speed is fine but there are a few bugs which still need to be fixed
also sense is really heavy on the phone and slows it down. the gingerbread sense roms we have atm speed wise aren't perfect. once you try the likes of heroine ++ and then for example go back to rose v5 you realise that in terms of speed it could maybe be improved a bit more
but then again htc did say that sense 4.0 is supposed to be 'lighter' than 3.0/3.5 so theres hope

I think it would be easier to wait for a latest mdpi htc phone with sense 4.0 and port it like HTC explorer
Yeah, first AOSP ICS should be a bit more stable and stuff and then we wait for MDPI, but I don't know if it will ever be good enough, though :/
Meanwhile Sense to be on our smartphones I look at this thread:
