Hi all,
Just picked up my new Galaxy Note today and I am very impressed. It's HUGE, but I don't see it being a problem for me. It is certainly not for everyone though!
I am coming from the Samsung Galaxy S which has served me very well and I still consider to be a great phone. My Capdase Soft Jacket has protected that phone for a year, and it has remained in pristine condition.
What do you guys recommend as a good case for the Note? I am open to both the leather "flipbook" style, or a case that covers the whole device.
Thanks, and looking forward to many chats here in the forums about our devices!

Hi guys,
Was just wondering if anyone had any recommendations for cases for the G2?
I like how it looks naked but am worried about dropping it!
If it was made entirely of that grippy grey material and didnt have the aluminium finish on the back itd make a difference but..
Also if phones had wrist strap loops I wouldn't need a case at all!
What are you guys using and what's good about it?
Thanks!
Edit: erm i just realised the existence of the G2 accessories forum
Sorry mods! orz
i got a smoke clear case from vanguard... 5/5 stars
Check out the Accessories forum
I like the cheap black G2 case that is posted in the accessory forum. I also trade off between that and the clear case with kickstand that T-Mobile sells. Got it on accessorygeeks.com for cheaper though. The clear one is hard to take off.
I use the G1 OEM Black Pouch for my phone. Mostly when its in my pocket to protect it from my keys and to keep dust away. Fits perfect. About $4 bucks on Ebay.
the cases at accessorygeeks.com are good
if you live in canada it takes 3 weeks to ship to you
I run naked! Well I grabbed a Stealth Guard on their site for $3 and so far I like it, protects the back fairly well...just wished it was on the side better
Bought a $3 case off of Amazon. Great fit butthe paint job isn't the best.
Hi all
It's been a while. Having spent years holding onto Windows Mobile, I finally transitioned to Android with an HD2 .. a device I still love.
Work had me using supplied iPhones for the last few years. I can see the attraction buy the iOS restrictions always frustrated. Having invested in what I'm pained to agree is the best app ecosystem, latterly with family iPADs it became clear for tablets at least, I was stuck. For the phone .. work have just ordered me an iPhone6.
I had a hankering for a new Android phone for a long time but they never seemed quite right. The Note (aside from the lack of 64bit for the upcoming 'L') seemed closer than ever. Out on a trip to get my son's iPhone 5 repaired I had one of those moments. The Air 2 cellular arrived at the store that morning so I bought one to replace my iPAD3. Until I heard it finally had got the min 2gb it needed and then the extra core .. in wasn't going to bother.
I then trotted down the road and found stores that had just got the Note4 in that morning. I picked one up at carphone on EE.
It's stunning .. at last .. a Samsung with the build of the HD2 ☺.
So .. why all the rambling ?
Well .. I at last have the personal phone in want and I can't use it.
I hear on this forum that many had issues with cases causing blemishes on the Note3 screen .. particularly the s-view. I also hear that screen protectors don't really work well on the curved edge screen. I can't take something this big and lovely out without protection.
Has anyone had this blemish issue yet with the Note4 ? Has anyone found a protector that looks good and works well ? I've always used Writeshield and Media Devil before .. they've looked good after two years and don't require sticky back on liquid to put on. I'm wary of others but open to advice.
Re the case .. I don't want to scratch the metal sides. I'm slightly interested in the Samsung protector case but would normally get a Noreve, Piel Frama or Krussell leather book style. The latter 3 are due out shortly but that may mean 4 weeks.
What to do ? If the screen inc coating were as hardy as the iPhone I'd just have the book case and not worry about the screen protector but if that's not the case I'd need both.
Any advice .. much appreciated.
Paul

Just dont throw it in a bag with your keys, screwdrivers and diamonds and you should be fine. I never use a screen protector, and all my screens are fine. Just dont place it screen down on tables etc, dont keep it in a pocket with keys etc, and dont drop it. Oh, and perhaps consider getting an insurance for the phone, just in case you DO fall down the stairs and it breaks.
The screen can withstand quite a bit, easily equal to the iphones screen. I have no idea why you think the iphone screen is somehow less prone to damage.
As an ex HD2 user I hear what your saying. I have a cheep flip case until my otter box defender arives. I have been using them since my HD2. You can't get a better case if you don't mind the added bulk.
My concerns about the screen are not first hand. They come from several threads for the Note 3 where the s-view case apparently left scratch like blemishes in the coating on the screen (not the screen itself). I don't if this has been confirmed with the Note 4.
Thanks for the thoughts re Otterbox. . I'll have a look at them.
Has anyone any thoughts re screen protectors that work and leather book like cases ?

Hey, i am about to buy myself this tablet, the lenovo yoga tab 3 plus LTE
and while i wait for it to arrive i wanna buy screen protector and cases from ebay, but if i spesific search for YT-X703F there is almost no options so are there any screen differense or layout in lenovo yoga pro and so on?
This will be my first lenovo so i dont know the differrence if anyone is different but is someone could help me out by say the search term i need to use to get the proper glass protector and case i will be very happy..
Im sure there are common search terms for this as well, but as told i am not very familiar With lenovo.
Also, im getting this as a replacement for my Nvidia Shield, im not mush of a gamer but im a total media whore and i like to watch Things in 4K and i also fly some drones that film in 4K so this will be why i spesific og for this tablet of course also since its Budget friendly when compared to other brands..
many thanks!
I just searched Yoga Tab 3 Plus on eBay and other sites and it comes up with plenty of results. I ordered a tempered glass protector and a rubber case. There seems to be two types of cases, the standard book style with a cutout on the back for the kickstand, and a non-flip rubber style case.
I bought some different cases but im not comfortable with any due to the metal stand makes all cases unuseful and flimsy. Just had a leather pouch i stick it in when I'm done.
The screen protector i bought that was made from glass. Very good.
Which cases did you get? Can you take some pics or links to the ones you got?
That might help some of us know which cases to avoid
Thank you
Just avoid them all. Buy a pouch or something. Due to the metal flip all cases will feel flimsy with that extra screen protector that flips over. And its unbearable to use the tablet with that extra dangling around in the back making it very uncomfortable to use.
Yeah that's what I suspected, its a shame. There is this third style I was looking at as well - https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0197QBAEM/
It's the Moko case, but no cutout, more like a traditional case. Instead the kickstand rests on the inside of the case.
Have something like this also. You're gonna get irritated of the leather covering the edges of the screen.
Its a no go.
Have also one with plastic edges that it snaps into but that also is not good to use.
Posting picture of my pouch soon
Get something like this. Its so much more convenient.
Hello,
I've been searching endlessly where to buy the Lenovo X703F LTE
Pls where did you get yours?
Bought mine at a electronic shop in Norway. Elkjop.no i payed about 3400 NOK
Hi, I know this thread is a little old (and yet still top thread in this subforum!) so I thought I would update this. I just bought a Yoga Tab 3 Plus and have still to find a case that stays always on the tablet.
In the meantime I am using the Mosiso iPad Pro 10.5 Case Sleeve (I bought mine on Amazon Canada - https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B074N3SDPD/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&th=1) which fits the tablet perfectly and feels quite secure. I try and just hold onto the thing when it is out of the case, though I am sure I will drop it eventually.
I am using one of the cheapest 9H screen protectors I could find on eBay (http://www.ebay.ca/itm/Premium-9H-T...var=660813795911&_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649) and it fits perfectly! Like a good planner, I bought two - and immediately ruined the first one. The second one turned out much better.
Do not buy the Moko flip case, it sucks.
Hi, I'm still looking for a tpu/silicon back case for my tab 3 8 plus (aka Lenovo P8). But it seems really hard to find something useful...

Good day to all S9+ (and S9 for that matter) owners.
3 years ago i posted on this forum about how the Samsung S6 Clear view case causes the screen to scratch very easily. Link: https://forum.xda-developers.com/ga...s/samsung-view-case-scratched-screen-t3107467
I have now purchased a Samsung S9+ with the latest Clear View case and guess what? Same thing. After 1 day of fitting it, my screen is scratched. Luckily, based on my previous experience with this type of case, i was more aware of potential damage to the screen and kept on monitoring it until the first scratch and tiny hole appeared on my screen. I really had high hopes that Samsung learned from their mistake and manufactured a better case with different materials, which by the looks of it, it does look like it was made using different materials, however, Samsung failed to really put these cases through normal usage tests before releasing them to the public.
Anyone else noticed this?
Using it for last couple of months and find no issue whtsoever .. No scratches or anything ..
All it takes is one piece of something abrasive to get stuck between the cover and the screen to scratch it.. I'd use a screen protector with a case like that.
My friend put one on his S8+, screen is scratched too, I'd guess something got in there while it was in his pocket.
My friend has the same issue with his clear view case... He's now using a 3rd party case instead.

That's good to know!
Thanks for the info. Samsung cases are just to pricey.
I bought my note9 together with Samsung clear view case and screen protector. Screen protector applied right after phone unboxing. So, even a clear view case is used, it is good to put as well a screen ptotector.
My first Samsung was Galaxy 7. I got a very good in-store rebate of $250, for a 2 yr old G3! I always keep my stuff for the most part, pristine. I take pride in that. Got a bluetooth speaker, screen protector, and then a cheaper incipio case. I have to say that the incipio is a very durable brand. I have an s9 plus now and still bought one of those. I have dropped my phone a few times where i thought it was going to be cracked, but it came through every time. It is open faced, but i used cellhelmet w/gorilla glass 6, and not one scratch. I also purchased a belt case. Really decent case as well. I could never see getting those bulky cases. If you don't know about the incipio, it comes in 2 pieces. A rubber inner shell, and a rubber coated ceramic outer shell. Sounds like it would be fragile? When snugs around the phone it reinforces the outer. ??
I just received my silver hard case today. It was part of my $150.00 in accessories offer.
It is a really nice case. It is as thin or even a little thinner that the Spigen Hybrid Clear I bought waiting on this.
The stands fell a little flimsy and don't know if they would stand up to repeated use. They work best in landscape. They ridges on the back feel good in the hand and are good for using one hand.
This is my first name brand case and overall i like it. Don't know if i would pay retail for it though.
It is really tight around the edges. I have a Whitestone cover on the way and wonder it will work with this. Any on try it yet?
Can you post a pic?

I've been using this variety of case since the Note 8. Wasn't sure if I was going to like the revised version for the Note 10+. My worries have been unfounded for the most part. The case is protective and not obtrusively bulky. The kickstands work well without getting in the way of everyday handling. It's a nice mid range protection rating case for sure. I would probably step up to something a bit tougher for outdoor use (deep forest exploring, fishing, etc) but like it as an everyday driver. I got mine in black to match my phone.
This is the case:

all ive used are the samsung military/rugged cases since i got on the note train with the note 8. no regrets.
