[Q] Google+ Updates For Android - EVO 4G General

I have had a problem updating the Android Google+ app on my stock, rooted EVO. This has been going on for the past two months or so.
All attempts to install updates fail. I have to un-install the app and install new from the Market.
Sometimes this happens with other Google apps as well, like Maps, Docs, etc.
Other apps (from other venders) install fine.
Also, there used to be a Google+ widget, but the past two updates seem to have eliminated them. anyone else notice that?

Question about Android Market access, why are some Apps missing for me?

Why can't I see Angry Birds Beta in the market or Glyder along with a slew of other apps? I don't mind side loading but is there an app that would allow me to see these items in the market? Is something mis-configured on my phone?
Well crap, I check today and I can see the mentioned apps, running FrankTwiz now, was Bionix before, what causes this?
I'm wondering this too. JI6 soft bricked my phone. All of my paid apps showed up except for Wunder Radio which is the one app I use CONSTANTLY. This totally sucks.
Download sgs tools on market and run the market fix
If they don't show right away give at least 24 hours after market fix all missing apps will come back

I just found the apk online for the app I was missing. After installing from that it loaded with all of my saved settings, etc. Very weird, but I won't complain.
Missing apps on Android Market
Yea, I just rooted my phone but I noticed some of the apps on the Market does not show up. I used another non-rooted Eris and the apps show up. So, is the current Market a different version?
-r00t0101
I didnt see Angry Birds on the 2.1 market, but when I installed the 2.2 market .apk it showed up

market.google.com updated...

Allows you to manage APP installed via the website and have them pushed to your Android devices. Not sure if anyone has looked at it yet.
Im on Bonsai ROM with Market version 2.2.11 and its not working for me. The website finds my Epic but apps don't get pushed to my phone when I click install. Is there a newer version I need?
I havent I'm not by a computer but I'm interested though....
Is it like the app store on itunes?
I'm tired of updating my phone and not having acess to certain apps
This would take all the pain away!

Worked for me, but I'm on stock.
Wasn't that one of the features of Gingerbread? It thought they mentioned that at the Froyo push last year.
They actually first showed this off last year at the Froyo event.
Getting SERVER NOT FOUND error?
I was able to use this today successfully. I remotely installed 3 apps, with absolutely no problems. It recognized all the programs already on my phone.
I'm on Nebula 1.0.7, so stock is not required
I'm on ViperROM 4.0.2c and am able to use it. The thing I like the most about it is that it has kept track of all the applications I've installed (which isn't the case when I flash my ROM). So I can reinstall the APPs throught he market. (yes the market keeps track of my purchased APPs, just not the rest of them via the phone.
It also makes installing the same APPs to multiple devices at the same time via the same Google account very easy.
I am on Quantom 2.7 and the website just doesn't see my phone at all. Wonderful.
are you guys just going to market.google.com??? I can't get to it from my computers.

Google the term "market"
Thank you.
And for anyone else reading this, the correct website is:
https://market.android.com/
I'm running Nebula and when I go to the web market, all of my apps that I've downloaded are there, but it won't recognize my epic. Anyone else found a fix for this?
Works on the current nightly of Cyanogenmod 6.
Shows the list of currently installed applications, and the instant I told it to add Angry Birds (not that I'm interested) my phone began the download.
Awesome.
Combined with the way all apps reinstall after a new flash, I should not need to use the crappy on-phone application again!

Well, I just flashed to a new ROM and am now once again having trouble with the sync.
My market.android.com list shows like 20+ applications, but Bonsai ROM downloaded 2 and acts like it is done. I'm going to have to go down the list and search for each of them now. Or maybe I'll try the same from market.android.com
EDIT it's working, but the list of installed apps on the phone's Market won't even update...
Time to say "goodbye" to appbrain. Finally.
Oh nice
Thanks for the tip. I was able to use my computer to browse the market and it was able to see my installed apps ok. I am running stock DI18.
Darkk
Says no phone associated with my account even though I can see my market history. I'll chalk it up ito being a new service and not fully up and running yet.

New Android Market Website

So it's finally out. What do you guys think? Is this the end of Appbrain? I loved appbrain cause I can browse the apps on the website and then just click install from there and it will automatically install on the phone. Now this can do it too!
The biggest upside to this? You can install (after you pay) "in-app" purchase app from the website. e.g. you can install the NBA League Pass from the website directly. Any other features I missed?
This is from Google themselves, not me.
https://market.android.com/
Cool. I like it.
I never really got into appbrain, because it still involved that extra step of opening the application itself.. and blah.. I think, I can't even remember. It just seemed tedious at the time to go onto the computer when it was quicker on my phone.
Then when Google does it, I'm all over it. I have been installing random applications just to install them. Why is this so awesome?!
I played with it for a while now and everything seems to be working well. I guess I can save some space by uninstalling appbrain and use this instead.
sweet jesus!
I'm like'n it...good stuff!
The automatic OTA install is working to my N1 and my Galaxy Tab now, it wasn't earlier this morning.
Works well!
With this new website comes another big change that will happen in the 3rd quarter of this year: NO MORE "LITE" version apps.

That's actually a good thing. You download the "free" application, and then if you decide to unlock it you buy the key from within the app rather than a separate unlocker application, or having the market cluttered with 2 separate versions.
Sounds like a plan!
The in-app purchasing as a general concept I'm not a massive fan off as it has the potential to lead to nickle & diming, primarily for games, but if used responsibly it should be good.
Wow, about time. Glad to see it's finally here.
now all they need to do is let you backup your app data. I dont want to lose my angry birds scores everytime i switch roms and forget to back it up with titamium backup
Well, I don't suppose there's a way for Market Enabler to work on the website?
It lists paid apps from all over the world, but it knows your phone's carrier and will prevent installs if your country does not support it..
I guess it's back to Market Enabler on the phone.
Anyone else having trouble actually buying apps from the website? Installing free apps works like a charm, but trying to purchase and install paid apps doesn't work. I press continue and _nothing_ happens.
running CM7 nightlies and the OTA installs are not working...
According to the website, you need to be logged into GTalk, only my GTalk won't log in. GTalk also appears to be missing from the market, so the problem may be on their end...
Sent from my Nexus One using XDA App
Doesn't work for me, it's been years and Android Market still doesn't support Google Apps accounts for Checkout. Although I can login, no devices are listed under "my devices" on market.android.com
I'm running CM7 Nightlies as well, I'm a few behind though, and I'm always logged into GTalk and the OTA's are not working for me either.
It's not working here on MM v.20. I've tried installing several apps but nothing happens on the phone end, the GTalk solution they give also doesn't help. Weird thing is they all show up on my app list as completed when none of them have actually installed.

I'm having the same issue. I'm running CM6.1 kangorama's version and the install says it has worked on the website, but nothing changes on the phone itself.
I'm wondering if it has to do with it being a rooted device without a stock rom?

I'm betting that someone is going to have to create a Web App Store Enabler or something along those lines for this to work on rooted phones or phones without stock ROM's.

[Solved] Market 3.1.5 not receiving updates.

I am on Cognition 1.5.1 with JKay's v.10.1 theme. It all started yesterday. I can't seem to receive any updates and the notifications as well. I've turned on update notifications, mind you. I also can't seem to download anything at all. The progress bar would just be stuck on 'downloading' for the whole time.
I've tried clearing data, uninstalling updates, using 3G or wireless but to no avail.
I have a friend who is on GingerMOD Vanilla v0.4b and he is having the same problem as well
Anyone having this issue as well? Do you reckon it is Google's issue?
Sent from my GT-I9100 using XDA App.
EDIT: Title should read Market 3.1.5 not receiving updates.
Not uncommon for this to be Google's fault, but I've managed to download a couple of things just fine in the last 24 hours.
Update notifications are pretty useless, I never seem to get them until I actually open the Market app by which time I already know there's updates.
Do you have issues if you try downloading an app you've never had installed before?

You're not the only one, version 3.1.3 was buggy as hell, 3.1.5 a lil better, but still takes ages to load installed apps on phone's data, shows updates when there's none, hangs when trying to update or download new apps. Strange thing is market works fine if i access apps from appbrain market app, so it's definetely a problem in the google market app as downloads start and work fine if redirected from other apps.
Update: All is good for now. I can finally download apps again. Google's problem it is! Cheers.

VS995 Bloatware on initial setup (stock 13A). Yahoo apps, Yelp, etc.

So I've done a couple factory resets while setting up my new VS995, rooting, etc.
It seems that after initial setup and sometimes even following a couple of reboots more apps just install out of nowhere.
On my last flash the first thing I did was go and freeze all the VZW apps (I'm not with Verizon anymore) and seemingly even after this some additional apps installed.
I don't recall all of them, but there was definitely:
- Yahoo Finance
- Yahoo Newsroom
- Yelp
And 2 or 3 others.
Does anyone know what is causing these apps to install? They don't seem to come back after I remove them.

Thanks. I haven't dealt with this app before on older phones. Quick google search shows it's uber-annoyingness.

Are you sure playstore is not installing them? I. Would also suggest you uninstall them instead of just freezing. No point in having them frozen if you don't use them.

I'm not freezing them. I'm freezing the Verizon system apps. It is clear if you look up what Dtignite is that this must be the culprit.
I wasn't able to actually observe if they were installed through the Play Store or through some back channel, but they were clearly getting installed as user apps after the phone was setup. The good part about it is that even though it is bloatware, Dtignite installs it all as user, so it is easy to uninstall.
I just didn't know what was triggering the installs.
Welcome to Verizon. Its dtignite in earlier versions and mobile system something in newer updates, but it still has the purple swirly icon.
