I had a 8 gig class 4

So it is sandisk for sure or some other brand? I know the capacity is 8GB but I have many 8GB lying around.

Just use the best one!

Are you saying I can't use microSDHC? You said you are using MicroSD for 16 GB, from my reading, the biggest size for MicroSD is 2GB.

He's actually saying that you CAN use micrSDHC's.
So go ahead and buy one. I'm due for an upgrade myself.
I assumed that you knew that 16gb is HC anyway which is why I just said micro sd

Lexar is a 'named' generic and Patriot is a enthusiasts brand.
For PC, Patroit memory is amongst the best you can get.
Having said that, I have the 16G version of the lexar here. with that little reader thingy, and it performs VERY well on transfer pc -> card.
A chkdsk /x on the card is slow though - I don't know if that's a problem or the size of the card.
Was that price in USA $$? I ask because the price here is $55 AU.

good price but it does not appear to be the right kind of card
I would agree to buy Sandisk only. I had problems with Transcend and couple other brands before. I have zero complains for Sandisk cards I use.

[Q] What microSD card should I get?

What class would you guys say is over doing it for a mt4g? I'm also thinking a 16 gb card for the size, but maybe 32, because I'm running out of space on my phone.
Requirements:
Good price
16 gb at least, but maybe higher
Good class, so it's not slow, but not over doing it
It would also be better if I can find it in stores, because I can't buy things online really, except for stuff off of Amazon, but it seems like too much work for that .
Thanks in advance!
16,should be more than enough.

I just went through this myself.
I opted for a class 6, 16GB card.
Class 6 was more than enough speed for anything my phone does. It might be a little laggy if I'm dumping 4GB of MP3's to it...but how often do I do that?
And I might fill a 16GB card eventually. But by the time I do that sometime next year they will have 64GB cards out so the 32GB cards will drop in price dramatically.
16 or 32. I have a 8gb sandisk class 4 but 8gb is not enough for me. I need all my music with me and enough room for roms, backups, and kernals haha.
Sent from my HTC Glacier using XDA App
Yeah, my 8gb card is completely filled up, so I'm hoping for at least a 16gb card, but a 32gb would be better. So a class 6 card would be good enough though?
My personal opinion is don't go below Class 6 on anything 16GB and above.
Does the myTouch 4g accept microSDHC cards?
ANY 4GB or above card is SDHC. Since MT4G supports up to 32GB, the answer is obvious.
Steven, HC means high capacity which would be anything beyond 2GB as Jack stated. So yes our MT4G does accept microSDHC as it ships with 8GB SD card.
Now you may want to look in to Patriot LX 32GB Class 10. Which is decent for the price, I suggest you do a search on our very forum and find user review before you order over Kingston or SanDisk.

With shipping they are about $8 a card. You can buy similar 16GB cards from Amazon.
and its a class 4 meaning it will be slow. you should get class 6 for your phone for it to be worth it. you dont need to get a class 10 either.
I'm not buying one just thought maybe somebody might like it and buy it

16gb not enough
I can attest to the fact that a 16gb sd card is nowhere near enough. i suggest getting 32gb. they are around $20

Honestly, it probably doesn't matter too much if you're using it for picture/video storage. With large file sequential read/write, any of the faster class cards will do.
If you're doing more than that (for programs and such), you want to ideally look for their 4k random read/writes. The Samsung Pro series micro SDHC and SDXC cards are probably the fastest short of the relatively small Sandisk Extreme Pro (only available in 8 or 16gb) cards.
thats the only one i would buy. i have three.
I'm pretty sure phones don't utilize anything over Class 6 but I picked up a 32gb Samsung Class 10 at Frys last week for $20.
