need help = phone function gone

hello all
after i tried to flash with the rom Roto-JME-Full-v4 i have no phone function anymore. i flashed back to overcome kernel and pda and tried madoco - nothing
how do i get the phone function back
please advice

Did you also flash a modem file? Without that one the tab dosen't eve notice that there is a sim card inserted.

i dont understand why it didnt worked before
in the guide is written all 3 to the same time
it doesnt work that way (for me)
also if i did it separate
1. modem, then phone
it worked after i installed the phone part, REBOOTED, download modus again, inserted the modem part

i dont know what are apn standing for
but if you mean the settings in the network - mobile networks - use packet data - its ticked
no - it have something to do with the roms - how can i clean all - make it complete nacked - nothing in it

Acces point names! Every operator has its own internet settings apn:s. U should check the right settings. Settings-whireles...-mobile networks etc...

why the last roms always fill it without interaction
the first time i need to enter it - i did not think on these option

In some roms these functions are part of the rom just like the original roms.

I have had the same problem (eg phone function gone) when tried to flash the Overcome rom.
Tried to install a separate modem using Addon-modem.zip from the roto-JME firmware via the recovery, but installation aborted.
I have finally re-flashed the whole firmware (roto-JME) via Odin and phone function is back and all is OK.
But I want to flash this Overcome 1.2 so how can I do it having phone function working?
I'm really sorry for my poor english, so I hope you understand what I'm asking for.

[MOD]Enabling the Android Setup Wizard on all ROMS!

As the title suggests:
I enabled the Android setup wizard on all Roms by a simple mod
So what this does is enables the Android Setup Wizard which runs on first boot and is made to ease the first boot like adding/creating accounts, changing some settings,etc.
I am posting the manual instructions as i g2g now so later on i'll post a script
Open any root file explorer
Navigate to /system
Mount as R/W
Open build.prop
Add this line at the end:

ro.setupwizard.mode=ENABLED
One more thing
You need to factory reset to use this as this is for the first boot only(to ease things!)
Sorry for the inconvenience but i'll try to make the script(and test it as much as possible) maybe tomorrow!

Every rom I flashed I never got the APN working at startup, I had to set it manually.. Then all of you WHO GOT BRAINS as you said, what good is the setup wizard if you don't have the APN working !!
Next time use your so called brains before you post !!

APN prob is coz most roms are using an outdated/inaccurate APN list
Use the one from cm7(a5)
Np that isnt a secret
Open source is all aboutsharing knowledge and i'm simply doing tat

Is there a problem if you never reset the flash-counter? Do you have a flash limit or something?

maybe this can be, one of the Market trouble: when you go on My App you don't see any app but only this written "applications and games owned by this account will appear here" . i really hope to solve this problem with KL1, i've tried everyway

Yes! That is the exact problem.
I REALLY hope this ROM fixes it, because I'm very frustrated by this.

There's no limit that I am aware of, but if your phone shows a non-Samsung firmware has been flashed (or even a non-original kernel), then Samsung can refuse to honor the warranty on the phone - that's why its good to reset the counter

Yes i tried this Rom is awesome!!!!
Just one problem on 7.7.0 version i can't add access points in my p 3100.when i click to create new it takes of to wifi menu.
Any fix???
And why developer was banned???
I didn't found any paid app it Rom!!!

I guess they didn't credit pac-rom's code, i see that they do now. Yeah, i had to use a backup of 7.6.2 cause 7.7.0 was too buggy, random reboots and if i kept my tab in Landscape position wile it was booting it would boot loop, until it was in portrait, weird stuff.

R.I.P My L5 (Swapper2)

Last night, my phone is broken (hard brick). Besides, I lost my ext-sd card (I had to format.). I used Swapper2 program by making a very big mistake. (Efforts to improve phone.)
Swapping normally supported by CM 10.1 kernel. And I'm sure swap supported. I checked swap by Terminal Emulator command. It shows "swap" word (that are supported).
My phone is not responding. Any button doesn't work. Charging doesn't work. USB to PC doesn't work. (PC doesn't detect normally.) :crying:
What should I do now? Is there anything I can do without sending service?

I followed this link. I applied everything. After I turned off phone it died (Could not open any more.). That's it.

I saw like 100 people getting their phone hardbricked after using the swap thing. That's why I won't ever do that bulls*it.

In my old Samsung phone
I would connect USB and then power on device without battery and then reinsert battery and flash ...
I don't know if it should work but it is worth trying ...

A little off-topic: I (and others) used swapper and swap on lg gt540 and had no problem what so ever. It's scary how easy this new phones can be bricked. Good luck!
